In my batch processing I rarely find a problem with the muscle memory, but it saves so much time when you do the heat treat. Not to mention the power or gas costs associated with it For a wood grinder, I still find a lot of use out of the 4x36 machines with the little 6"/150mm disk sander on the side, so it doesn't have to be an expensive grinder for woodworking and they're set to run slower to begin with.

Thanks for sharing! The 4” belt sanders are very useful for sure, especially when paired with a disc sander! Thanks for watching!

This is something I absolutely agree with. One of my largest issues is forgetting the process after a project is done, and being unable to reproduce it days or weeks later without making a couple of failed attempts in between. Batch work is the answer for me.

Take notes. Write down what seems obvious at the moment, you'll thank yourself later. It only takes a few minutes before bed and it's fun!

Solid video chaps 👌I think batch work is really important to a proper workflow. The batch size plays a big role too, to many and the stages seem insurmountable, too few and there’s no point. Hitting the sweet spot for your style and shop helps see things really rolling

Cheers dude! I remembered you making steak knives in batches and they were all handmade but still showed consistency in quality, part of it was because your skill (and good looks haha) but do you think making it all in one hit (forgive the pun) helped?

It would lovely sum up everything with a saying I heard TJ Schwarz say "Systemise the predictable so you can humanise the exceptional" were you take notes and record all the processes. I myself I to do batch work as little as possible, only when it has big returns, and lean (pun intended) towards "One-piece flow".
