Alex Pereira explains why he thinks Israel Adesanya will never get over Alex beating him 3 times and ruining his UFC legacy. Alex Pereira fights him again for a 4th time at UFC 287 and Adesanya believes this is where the tables turn.

Izzy doesn't dislike him the way you guys think, I don't think you guys have any competitive bones in your body. I don't think you understand how personal fighting is and how humiliating it is to lose but also to lose to the same guy 3 times in a row. Izzy is human so there's bound to be resentment towards that man, have you ever competed in any form of competition before? Izzy shook his hands after every single loss so that shows the respect is there but he should'nt be forced into being friends with someone he resents but he shows respect after the fights even when he loses.

@@djoseph5130 I think its more so that periera stopped his dreams of becoming a kickboxing world champ, and even though he won the ufc belt, he still felt he had something to prove, and that's why he took the mma fight with Alex so quick, so the win for adesanya meant more to him, than the 3 wins alex had over him, especially when izzy was on the road to the greatest ufc middleweight of all time, I guarantee they have the upmost respect for each other
@djoseph5130
@djoseph5130 Жыл бұрын
@@biglipt3776 I mean I get the kickboxing stuff but I just think the loses and the trolling were more. It's obvious Izzy has a lot of pride in himself and his fighting IQ. The fact that he couldn't beat this guy no matter how hard he tried left bitter resentment towards him. I wholeheartedly believe that they both respect each other.

@JAC 🔞 Yeah...sure. His kid is now 12 and they were watching a video from back then. How he knocked out Izzy, how Alex gloated over Izzy's body, the son mocking him and were laughing about it together. That wasn't good parenting; was it? No! It was petty, so "Pay-Back is a B'tch!

It’s easy to act the humble guy after! But people like me who followed the whole thing and have seen every fight, we know and we saw: We saw Alex not saying anything to his son after he mocked Adesanya for the KO in KB! He’s saying that apparently he said stop to his son when the kid was about to do the same thing after his MMA TKO on Adesanya, but it’s hard to believe, because Alex himself never stop mocking Izzy, even when he left KB for MMA, and Alex was still in KB, he was posting videos and gif of that KO, and of his son, or video of him and his son watching the KO and mocking him! This is humiliating and Alex was doing that all the time! After every Izzy’s victory and there’s a lot of them and he was doing with his son! He was doing it even before that last fight! Alex and his son they’ve built that moment! It was not just one time mockery, it was constant strikes and attacks! If one person is guilty it’s Alex Pereira for dragging his son into that and not teaching him respect soon enough! Easy now because obviously everybody forgot about he’s previous behaviour, easy to act the cool guy, to declare “I, personally, I wouldn’t have done that” (really 🤔???) and to play the rôle of the humble guy! Sorry but it’s bit of a fake attitude!

Within 10 minutes of getting KO'd Alex said "How many times have i left other families upset at the result of a fight, it happens in this sport, tonight it was my turn to lose.". The emotional maturity and social intelligence of the guy is way too respectable to clown on him tbh. On the other hand Izzy immediately went on a world tour from podcast to podcast to make excuses for losing to Alex in mma. 😅 There is a stark difference between the character of these 2 men. I think from the start it was quite clear Alex was the hero of the rivalry and Izzy was the heel. The humble guy from the favela vs the self entitled rich kid who couldnt stand losing to some "nobody" from the slums. Unfortunately the heel won this time around. Congratz to izzy. 🎉
@frasert8779
@frasert8779 Жыл бұрын
I think I agree with most of your take but I think saying Izzy hated the loss because he is a “kid from the slums” is a bit of a stretch. He has always given respect to Pereira’s journey and his adversities, and I think Izzy would be the same no matter who it was who beat him 3 times. Also, Izzy went on a bunch of podcasts but I didn’t hear him making any excuses. Not making excuses and still showing his face after the loss was respectable to me. Again, I agree with pretty much everything else, Pereira has much more emotional maturity than Izzy. He has taunted Izzy the same way though, but he doesn’t take it as seriously. I think Izzy would and has admitted as much, seeing as he self-proclaims as being incredibly petty, etc.

Its more nuanced than that. Close split decisions piss people off. Then getting ko'd after the ref gave alex a standing 8 count. Then 1st ufc fight herb called it off while hes still on his feet bobbing and weaving. On top of all the shit luck Izzy had against Alex, Alex is one of the biggest weight bullys ufc has ever known. 185-220 over night. He took the Jan loss well, and is cordial with him.

Izzy feels the need to keep the chip on his shoulder even though he has accomplished so much. Whereas Alex's fighting career kept him alive. Being an raging alcoholic as a child, working hard hours, and now he can MORE than provide for his family. He is a career fighter. I much prefer the way Izzy reacted to his last loss vs how he has reacted to this win. Hopefully they can reconcile like Chael and Anderson. Alex definitely befriended Strickland. Alex showed MAJOR respect when he took the fight and others didn’t want that smoke. And this is coming from a martial artist who knows people within that scene. Plus it was public, someone covered it. About Strickland being the only one to raise his hand for that fight. Alex totally understands English, and knew how Strickland was busting Izzy’s balls at that presser. You should’ve seen the smirk on Alex’s face. Plus Alex shows great sportsmanship. Izzy, obviously is a special fighter too. But he’s paid to be the anime character, who shits on everyone and talks it up. It’s sad he can’t conform with Alex over the losses, they haunt him. And some fighters have other fighters numbers. Same with musicians taking each others gigs. And Alex lost tonight. Took it like a champ, never talks up excuses. Gave Izzy major credit tonight. What did Izzy do? Shoot him with arrows when he went down. What did Alex do when he finished Izzy… walk to his corner. Alex needs to fight other guys in the division! Sad Izzy is just salty and all ego. I’m a Stylebender fan, but seeing how he handles himself around Alex, it’s not cool.
