This was a really wonderful presentation. I dont think I have ever seen anyone go into so much detail about the chemical / physical processes involving the production and patination of shakudo. Very interesting and informative.

I've made reproduction menuki with shakudo and finished them with Baldwins patina. I've played around with shibuichi too. I collect Japanese swords and koshirae. I am a jeweler by trade and I love the beautiful workmanship of Japanese swords. BTW the English word for rokusho is malachite.
