Inflation should include both stocks and housing because both are a required component in human lives - saving for retirement and having a roof over your head. Im not so sure about that. The rich spend very little on personal consumption. Most of their wealth is reinvested back into the economy which allows innovation and infrastructure to build improving standard of living for society. Poor people spend nearly all their money on consumption and nothing improves.

The scary part is that, if that is the reason, it would be the one part he could potentially be right about.
