Why are so many Africans leery of COVID vaccines?

Africa has received 32 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, about 18 million have made it into people’s arms.
Growing vaccine scepticism in Africa means doses that are available are either being destroyed or given away.
UN officials say launching a rapid vaccine drive in countries where it takes decades to inoculate children against diseases like measles or yellow fever is a challenge.
The COVID variant first detected in India has been found on the African continent but without enough vaccines available and few vaccinated, the fear is the situation can only get worse.
Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque reports.

They are experiential vaccines whose long-term side effects are yet unknown. What's known thus far is that they cause blood clots and a host of other side effects including death. Humans were exposed to all sorts of deseases, plagues and pandemics throughout history. Yet we survived thus far without universal jabs. Therefore, all things considered, it's wise to avoid vaccines like the plague!

Africa is a favorite testing ground for large pharmaceutical companies for vaccines and new drugs due to lack of oversight and regulations. The pharamceutical companies need guinea pigs and many of the drugs often come with unforeseen and disastrous side effects.

This is not the whole story. People in Africa are also well informed about the side effects of astrazenica, which already forbidden in many european country for People below 40s even in the UK. In addition, African People seems to have a genetic advantage compare People with neandartalian genes, which partly explain why there are less causality compare to the rest of the world. Finally, 90% of African People are young therefore astrazenica is not suitable for them because of the side effects which impacts 2/6 young People. We are in a globalisation. Even in à very small village People has smartphone, so there are no more possibilities of imposing european vaccin agenda on Africa. You need to update your western view on Africa 😅❤🖤💚Hotep 🙅🏾‍♂️

I and hundreds of other people I know received Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J vaccinces. Some of us felt slightly sick and had some side effects, but none of us got "very sick". And it was certainly worth it to avoid getting Covid.

VAERS data released shows 118,902 reports of adverse events following COVID vaccines, including 3,544 deaths and 12,619 serious injuries between Dec. 14, 2020 and April 23, 2021.

A 2011 report by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Inc. for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) stated that fewer than one percent of all vaccine adverse events are reported to VAERS. One can only imagine what the true numbers of injuries and deaths are as they are most certainly considerably higher.

Same thing happened in rural areas of India. People hesitate to take vaccine because of fear and myth. But now they are crowding at health centre's to take a vaccine and there is shortage of vaccine. I am also taken Astra Zeneca Vaccine and it is protective. Be Vaccinated Be Safe 🙏🙏🙏
