Fact is immediately having the child Diana knew she wasn’t a mixed child and unless she had been sleeping with many black men which I doubt than she new immediately the child was Berry Gordy it’s just that Berry was married so she kept his secret until he got divorced. Which is part of the reason he loves Diana so much. She didn’t demand anything of Berry but that he made her a star which he did. Diana’s husband was a white man so they new immediately Rhonda was not a mixed race child. Like I said they just kept his secret.

However, he had begun a relationship with someone else. Angry, she rebounded with the handsome schoolteacher, Robert Ellis Silberstein. She'd known him only a few months. They don't tell us everything; I think he knew about the baby very early on. She simply had MOVED ON, knowing marriage to Gordy was out of the question.

It was never a surprise nor secret to Diane from the moment she found out she was pregnant to the time Rhonda was that 13 year old girl they finally told that "Uncle B.B." was in fact her father. Plus, Rhonda looks MOST LIKE Berry than any of his children. Finally, Diane has publicly stated that her ex-husband, Arne Naess (the father of her 2 sons), was the 1 TRUE LOVE OF HER LIFE, THE 1 SHE WANTED TO GROW OLD WITH. She was 💔 because of the way she was treated after they became famous, that's why she started drinking so much. I can totally understand her why... It's fascinating that this could still be of any interest to people 50 years later. But, as pointed out, he was married part of the time and she was his "star." A "star" who was sleeping with the boss in 1971 (and then subsequently becoming pregnant with his child) would not have been looked on favorably. Not even if it was Diana Ross (or any other woman, for that matter, but especially Black women). Those were the morals of that time. And they were pretty puritanical.

It's despicable how childish and selfish she was. They had other females singers at Motown that she felt threatened by because she was not a good singer. She would complain to Gordy to have them removed. Gladys Knight stated that she and the Pips were on tour with supremes and was out shinning Diana. Diana calls Berry Gody and has them taken off the tour. In another incident, Diana ross wears another artist's dress so that they can't perform. The artist complains to Berry Gordy and he says to leave Diana alone. The other performers were told to not outperform Diana. Diana was not the lead singer of the supremes until she started an affair with Gordy and a songwriter at Motown. She performed in three movies for Gordy, Mahogany, lady sings the blues and the wiz due to an affair with Gordy. Gordy and ross even had a child together. She has as much talent as Marilyn Monroe, But both slept their way to fame. No Respect!

She was made the lead by Berry because she had a commercial voice. He wanted a light sound not a churchy one. If you listen to her in Lady Sings The Blues you actually hear that she really can sings.

Berry Gordy, Jr came from a family of business owners, record producers (sisters Gwen and Anna). The early Motown was made up of Berry's family, 8 siblings! Gordy himself wrote a book called "To Be Loved" (1996) also, the money amount is mentioned in "Berry, Me and Motown" (1990) by Raynoma Gordy Singleton, who Berry married in the late fifties. Any one alive during the early days, knows about the $800.00 from family members....they had the money to give! This is not opinion, it is fact....people who weren't alive at the time are spreading misinformation.

I believe Barry loved Diana but sometimes the timing is just off. I like hearing him declare his love for Diana because they have a daughter and she needs to know she was conceived in love. Times were different back then and Diana wanted her child to be born in a legitimate marriage!! Good for both of them.

How was the child "conceived in love" when the relationship was pretty much an affair/fling? If the child was "conceived in love" then why didn't Berry marry Diana to show his "true love" how much he actually loves her? He even referred to his own daughter as "it". If my child was "conceived in love", I wouldn't wait 13 years to tell my child that I am her biological father. Diana's and Berry's daughter was told that Berry was her uncle growing up. Either way, it was Mary who said in her book, people can't help saying how much Diane's first daughter looks like Berry. (Mary and Flo always referred to Diana as Diane, her given name) Then shortly thereafter, Diana gave an interview disparaging Mary and in Diana's book she said Mary hurt her badly, but was not specific. Berry just wanted a super star that he created! It was just all ego for him. Even Diana said in her book that she realized that berry just used her! And that he tried to brake up Diana to and her Fiancé , and it wasn’t because he loved her and wanted her for himself. But because he wanted that control so that he could still be able to dog work her like he always had , with out any other man getting in the way !! She did not say it like this but in other words. I was so surprised that she had even admitted this! However Diana has said in some interview , can’t recall which, but said that she really tried to be as honest as she possibly could about how she felt and how she later on saw things through her perspective. And I commend her for that it’s not easy for her , being that she’s always been so private.

The fact that Berry couldn't just come out and say that he was a Married Man when he dated, and impregnated Diana speaks volumes of who he is.

I could personally, care less about what Barry Gordy thinks about the subject for him its worn & tired. I'd rather know what Rhonda thinks about it especially, now that she has her own marriage and children. What the daughter believes is far more important. Barry Gordy didn't pay child support to Rhonda. Barry Gordy didn't raise Rhonda and he likely won't leave her anything in his will. He didn't care about the mother and he doesn't care about the daughter. Diana Ross was a cash cow, a pay day for him. Diana Ross wised up and moved on and many black people resent her for doing so. But you live for yourself not the twisted fantasies of other people. I love resilient people, who make happy endings for themselves. They are so inspiring!

@@michellekirkendall818 So what? I'm older than you so I know who he is don't condescend to me. At the end of the day he no longer owns the company. When he dies he can't take it with him. The only thing that will matter is how you lived your life and how you treated people. Gordy didn't treat others close to him well. Its not too late for him to repent. But what matters is how he treated people which includes his daughter! All of Diana's children are phonies who go around using her maiden name for showbiz clout. Rhonda's given name is Rhonda Siberstein Kendrick. Evan Naess and Tracy Ellis Siberstein. Those are their real names. None of them have talent they should go into business. Diana will wisely leave the bulk of her fortune to her grandchildren and charity.
