In this video I am going to talk about Bulgarian yoghurt and why Bulgarian people are so proud of this culinary delight. I will mention the things which make our yoghurt so unique and at the end of this video I will demonstrate how to make your own yoghurt at home.
Bulgarian yogurt is a fermented milk product, in Bulgarian it is called Kiselo Mliako (when translated it means sour milk). Like most yogurts, Bulgarian yogurt is produced through the bacterial fermentation of milk, using a live culture of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus). Most yogurts contain these two as they are such excellent starters but most “ordinary” yogurt has other good bacteria added as well.
