Except he's wrong. The Jews didn't exist at the beginning of creation. The Ten Commandments are really simple and clear. It was the Catholic Church through Emperor Constantine when worshipping on Saturday was changed to Sunday.

The texts in the video doesn't say that" Israel's Sabbaths are modelled after God's Sabbaths" like Sam said. The texts say that Israel are to keep God's sabbath to show that they are sanctified by God.

I'm not saying that the Saturday (Sabbath) day of rest given "as a sign between me and the Children of Israel for ever" (Exo. 31:17) is appropriate for Christians TODAY. I'm just giving the origins and reason of the "true" Sabbath of the O.T.. The apostle Paul in the N.T. as much as told us that we as Christians are not to judge any man according to his day of worship. In the current dispensation, we as Christians are not under such "laws" today after Jesus died. The "cross" ended that. BTW, are you trying to define the beast power in what you say? I'm not sure what your comment about the "beast" has to do directly with the Sabbath, in your opinion. @@_SDC

Sabbath in ancient Hebrew simply Translates to the Lord's day, which Religious Jews observed on Saturday, since it's the day The Lord told Moses, and also the day in which God took a "rest" after creation. Nonetheless, since the Lord is the Lord of Sabbath, and he fashioned the law, as reckoned in Mat 12. Israel's rest day is on Saturday (it's cultural), but we Christians observe it on Sunday, since it's the day in which the Lord Rose from the dead, giving life to the whole world, he gave us eternal rest, which only can be attained through him. Since I am not a very well studied person, I recommend you check out Sam Shamoun's channel explaining exactly why the Lord's day is now on Sunday instead of Saturday. But if we as Christians enter the Sabbath as God's day of rest, then when are we allowed to work? If everyday for Christians is God's Sabbath, then we have no days that we are to work. Work as in fixing the house, weeding the garden. "going to work to earn a living?" No, it does not make sense.

No you're not getting it, it's not work as in physical sense of not working like Israel as they were bound by the law. Old testament laws are a shadow of the substance, that is Jesus. We're not bound by the law any longer. We live in the Spirit. We can rest in the Lord of Sabbath, in Jesus any time. It's not about the day of not working it's about who is giving us rest from working to our salvation. Jesus gives us the rest from having to work for our salvation.

Why did they follow the law in the OT? They thought it was the way to be saved when Paul in Romans explain that the law was given to show us how sinful we are and how impossible it is to live up perfectly to God's standards. “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

⁠if you read the stem word Sabbaths; it applies to the many sabbaths that the Israelites and jews kept. For instance, the sabbath year, the feast of booths, and the passover. These were sabbaths pointing the jews to the atonement of Christ. They are now a shadow after the cross. However, the Sabbath initiated before sin, in the creation week stood infallible and is a day to remember God, bring our work to a stop and commune with God. The Seventh day Sabbath is sacred and is not a shadow. Would the apostle Paul had written the word Sabbath in singular in his letter to the Colossians, it would have contradicted the Holy Sabbath initiated in Eden but since the word is plural, it points unmistakably to the Jewish sabbaths of passover, booths, and sabbath year and jubilee.

@@loism1965 You missed the point then in Catechism class. Most of the paragraphs in the catechism have references from both councils and from sacred scripture. If you were taught the catechism, then you were also taught the references for why we believe what we believe. I would challenge you to go back and reread the catechism, this time pay attention to the references and read them in conjunction with the catechism.

7th day Adventist asking a question: what you presented makes sense and i can understand the logic behind it. However for me at the end of the day, Jesus is our example, and we should do everything to ressemble him in character and in everything we do. A man who could honestly be used infinitely more had his ex-wifes infidelity not chained him to bitterness and limited the scope of his witness. God’s Sabbath is calculated by God’s Time/Calendar in Genesis 1:14. The Beast’s Sabbath is calculated by the Beast’s time/calendars.

Your SEVENTH day Worship came from Gen. 2:1-3 ".....and God finished His work and rested on the SEVENTH Day...." . 4). Now tell truthfully. The Seventh Day Adventist and the Jehovah Witnesses are CULTS who followed not Christ but Ellen G, White and Charles T. Russell and Joseph Rutherford respectively. They were followers of William Millers as Millerites being Adventists who prophesied the coming of Jesus Christ since 1843 to 1975 all failed. 9). @@ndor1429 Was there already the New Testament during Apostolic Times? Did St. Paul meant by Scriptures include the New Testament? Just because the New Testament is considered Scriptures doesn't mean it was included because St. Paul did not even know that there will be a New Testament that includes his Letters. All his Epistles are personal to the Addresee concerned. Well I respect what you learned from these "Bible Alone" Cults. Where in the Bible that says; Faith Alone and Bible Alone? And anything that is NOT WRITTEN in the BIBLE should be disregarded and/or Discarded. Really? I am a Catholic Apologist and Polemist and I dare anybody that I will leave Catholicism if anyone of you out there to find and give me what Chapter and Verse Numbers in the Original Manuscript or earliest copies of the BIBLE can you find "LAST SUPPER" and "TEN COMMANDMENTS" word-for-word. Many believed in these TWO I mentioned but it's not Written in the Bible. Maybe in some Versions it's written as Headings but it's not part of the Bible per se.

The true Sabbath is Jesus himself..He is Lord of the Sabbath..you are no better than the Pharisees...Jesus gave them the Sabbath as He was the one who gave the ten commandments to Moses yet he was always breaking the Sabbath law according to the Pharisees! By believing in Jesus you enter into his Sabbath rest " come all ye who are heavy laden and I will give you rest" just to add to that the Sabbath in today's modern world is a pagan Sabbath which is named after pagan planetary gods. If you take out the Gregorian calendar you wouldn't be able to tell when the Saturday is without a calendar. God's creation calendar is a lunisolar one

By what Jesus said, he simply meant that he created the 7th day Sabbath. After all, Col. 1:15 says that in the very beginning God created Jesus (note: "his BEGOTTEN son") and that Jesus later created all things, including the Sabbath. There is a LOT info in that one short verse, but preachers don't like to teach what it says. It upsets their "applecart". The weekly 7 day cycle has never changed from the entire history of the Bible. Certainly you don't think that all of the Jewish nation woke up one morning and forgot what day of the week it was?! The names of the day and the calendar itself has nothing to do with the 7 day cycle. @@nealbaroi5721

And Matthew chapter 11 he says he will give us rest, give, and if that's not obvious enough the word for rest is not shabbat, it's a Greek word for Spiritual refreshment, pointing to salvation, not the sabbath. And then in the next chapter, Matthew 12 he literally explains how to keep the sabbath, indicating no change, just the fair circle prohibitions around the Sabbath is incorrect, not the Sabbath itself. And of course that's probably still not enough for you, so good thing in Luke chapter 22 Jesus declares the new covenant, Luke chapter 23:56 his followers kept the Sabbath "as commanded"

@@stretchh2o God gave the true Sabbath from Friday evening to Saturday evening. The word Shabbat has the same root word as the root word for Seven in Hebrew. Israelites keep the same Sabbath that God gave at creation. Israelites also kept the Sabbath before the law was even given.

@@stretchh2o Check out the Greek texts wherever it says "the first day of the week" in the English translations. You will quickly see that it says Mia Ton Sabbaton in Greek which is translated as "one of the sabbaths" when translators actually translate it. The whole idea of sunday as the new sabbath is From Catholicism and is false. If you do not know about the biblical sabbath from the Hebrew scriptures then you will easily be deceived. I was until I studied everything from the first to last book in the bible. So with the correct translation Jesus did not rise from the dead on a sunday.

The true sabbath is from Friday @ sundown & ends Sat @ sundown. Also, the first day of the week is Sunday & not Monday. This was changed long ago. However, it doesn't matter what day people go to church to praise the Father & worship him. We should worship him every day. Amen! God bless you, Sam. This is a serious question, I'm curious. How do you know that God started his creation on a Sunday? "the first day of the week". Were the days of the week written on a calendar already? That would have to mean that God himself said "ok today is Sunday and it will be the first day of the 7 day week, I will work until Friday at sundown and then rest on Saturday. And I want someone to keep up with which day it is everyday from now on so as not to mix up which day it is." How do we know that along the way, Wednesday got confused with Saturday or vice versa? Calendars enumerating and ascribing names to the days of the week and months of the year did come alone until the Samaritans in Mesopotamia long after the creation. So, how do we know that they or for that matter the Julian or Gregorian calendars got it right?

There's no Substitute for God's True Sabbath (SATUDAY) AS FAR AS worship you are right as we Worship God everyday But His Command was Issaih 66:23. A Holy convocation of gathering together on His Sabbath n anyone honors a another day(Sunday) as a God's Sabbath it was not God's command. I might be the only one against what you are teaching in this video but allow me to say it brother.; Exodus 20 says Exodus 20:1,8 [1]And God spake all these words, saying, [8]Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. This is a command from the Almighty to Moses ,not traditions of Israel or as you say sabbath of Israel. @@paddydobbs2318 that would be correct if this were the only means by which one understood what God's Sabbath rest was all about. It's not about observing the Saturday as a religious testing day from work as it was foreshadowed in the Mosaic law for Israel. Christ and the Holy Spirit taught us in the new testament that the Sabbath is entering into salvation, ceasing from striving and "working" for our salvation. Yes the Matthew verse by Christ was not specifically telling us what Christ's rest was, but in other passages we learn that coming to Jesus brings us into the eternal Sabbath of God as clearly spoken in Hebrews and elsewhere. Sabbath day teaching clearly is not taught, nor repeated in the new testament teaching, but it's taught that we enter into the true Sabbath day of rest, God's peace. So yes when you come to Jesus you enter into the Sabbath rest of God, Jesus will give your rest from your hopelessness of sin and death. He will give you ultimate peace and rest. This is the Sabbath.

As a student I respectfully disagree, of course not completely. I believe under sympathetic law that Saturday being the seventh day is symbolically resonant with the "seventh day" of god, being Saturday. You've justified Sunday, by putting forth that any day following God's rest is valid, because his Sabbath has not ended, but this does not place Sunday as A "better" or more apt day of rest, just as any following Saturday under the same logic would be. You've said that Jesus died on a Sunday at one point (I think, that or was resurrected on), and that's a good validation for the day, but ceremony should be different and not sabbatical under those pretenses. Regardless, I do agree that everyday following the creation of man is worthy of being a day of thanks and worship, but I feel that is beyond the point. The purpose of the Sabbath is one meant to be more symbolic, and poetic in effect, thus a mere gesture of beauty. Being on the seventh day, Saturday. It is the poetic beauty of the sabbatical Saturday that marks the difference. Where as Sunday might as well be any other day, outside of the separate significance of Christ's own life that was mentioned. Thank you.

Satan doesn’t mind if Christians talk about Jesus to each other but when we talk about the Sabbath topic which I believe will be the final deception; an unrighteous, bitter & angry character comes out from the person who refuses to accept its significance. God has blessed you with intelligence and wisdom I don’t doubt. You can receive greater light, just pray first and ask for wisdom before reading Revelation 14 if you may. What do you think of this response? Do you agree that Apostle Paul entered God's true rest by being born-again? Yet, he also continued keeping the weekly Sabbath after the cross (Acts 13:44, Acts 18:4). His example shows that both "rests" are required. In the Hebrews 4:3 passage that you mentioned, it says, "For we which have believed do enter into rest" (KJV). The verb tense is past tense for "believed", and present tense for "do enter". If what you are saying were true, then the text would have said "did enter" (past tense, "did enter at the time one believed"). Rather, the text says, we did not enter the Sabbath rest when we believed. It says we do enter afterwards (if we don't have disbelief in God's commandment). In the Genesis 2:2 passage, there is a direct parallel with the word "day" in that God uses the same word for the Seventh "Day" as for all of the other days. Genesis 1:5 defined this word to mean a 24 hour period. In the Exodus 20:8-11 passage that you mentioned, God gave us 6 days to work. If what you are saying were true, namely, that the Seventh Day never ends, then mankind could never go back to work. Please kindly re-read the Romans 14:5 passage that says, "One MAN esteems one day above another: another esteems every day alike." What seems to have been missed is that this is talking about what "MAN" esteems, what "MAN" elevates to higher importance. Please kindly note that It does NOT talk about what GOD esteems. In comparison, Jesus said, "that which is highly esteemed among MEN is abomination in the sight of God." (Luke 16:15, and Ezekiel 20 shows that the 24 hour period of the Seventh Day is HIGHLY esteemed by God). Please kindly clarify, are you suggesting that what "man esteems" could overrule what "God esteems"? The Sabbath that the Israelites were keeping under Moses, and during Jesus' time, complete with all Jesus' disciples and followers, was required to be God's actual Sabbath ("Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep", Exodus 31:13). For example, are you suggesting that Jesus did not know what God's Sabbath truly was when it says, "as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day" (Luke 4:6)? Please kindly clarify if you are suggesting that Jesus taught His disciples an error when it says, his disciples "rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment" (Luke 23:56)? In contrast, if what you are saying were true, then Jesus' disciples would have worked every day and not have kept a single 24 hour period each week for rest and holy assembly. Please note that Luke 23:56 defines that one day per week WAS what the commandment said. This verse clarifies that the commandment was not a continuum of thousands of years of rest. Even if he (she) believes in Yeshua, every Jew has to keep Exodus 20 Seventh Day Shabbat because between God and his/her nation, it is still a sign; his/her ancestors were captives and slaves in Egypt, before God freed them... I am a ''Goy'' but if my future wife is a Jew, I will understand her and encourage her and the children she would bear for me (as jews) to observe the 7th Day Shabbath cause they are jews and their ancestors had a sign of covenant with God, even though I am not concerned personnally necessarily. Likewise, many of us, gentiles, have been circumsized the 8th Day, but we do not consider it makes us nearer to God...Everywhere in the Prophets or in the New Testament, the jewish Shabbath is mentionned, the Jewish context is there, present. Every time God' s covenant with Israel (as a Nation) is predominant, seventh day Shabbat prevails. But, it is NOT an expressed ''salutaire'' commandment in the New Testament who repeats all nine of them litterally and in their spirit without retaking the fourth (one) which concerns Israel covenant and not necessarily the Goyim. Neverthless, God created Shabbat for men, and a goy who chooses for his/her rest to keep the 7th Day as a Shabbath like the Jews does NOT sin, except if he/she confers to the act a value of salvation, in place of the Jesus blood, despising the sacrifice of the holy Lamb of God and believing in the power of the acts of Law to redeem humanity... Let someone have full conviction about that: first believers were Jewish and they did well keeping jewish Shabbath and worshipping in the temple (not destroyed then); Paul made an ''oath'' Acts 18:18 and all the first believers very zealous for the Law are examples. We can understand that, remembering that our faith is also the extension of the real Judaism, the biblical one, of Moses and the Prophets... In the New Covenant, all days are equal and believers are experiencing the real Shabbath of which the 7th Day shabbath was only like a shadow. Keep a rest from your deeds and your efforts to be saved and rely entirely on the Jesus sacrifice and let the Holy Spirit have His own way to produce in you the fruits and deeds God requires from you by His grace (only those deeds can really please God): it IS the real Shabbat, and it IS the spiritual meaning of the first Shabbat, its ''accomplishment'' (Heb. 4). 7th Day Shabbat or no, the point is: Did you enter in the REAL shabbat of God, the Spiritual one; if no, you are pleasing Him, Jew or not, 7th Day Adventist or not, 7th Day Baptist or Not, Messianic or not... Period.

Yes, we do ENTER AFTERWARDS. Because then we will have our daily devotionals, our Journey that we invite the Holy Spirit in our fellowships, days, we seek Him AFTER claiming God's Gift of salvation. Being born again is a process. And we enter the sabbath again and again.

@@witteskoen7371 As a sabbath keeper you won't agree with Bro. Sam's explanation. We the New Covenant believers are not subject to the laws of the Sinai Covenant. We have the New Covenant laws written in the New Testament Scriptures. These are two very different covenants with different laws. The New Testament is packed with Scriptures to support this claim.... . Romans 6:14 says that we are "Not under the law. " How much simpler can it get?

Thanks Sam enjoy your presentations very much; though on this one I think I'll stick with the Sabbath written in stone by God, the work of God, with the finger of God - twice. Gods persistence in making sure the Ten Commandments remained intact and unchangeable, signed in stone, has that ring of permanence I just can't shake.

Totally understand. Writing something in stone does express its perpetuity. Just seeing all the work the Father went through to make sure we understood- writing them twice, in his own hand, and beginning the commandment with 'remember', all support that he who sanctified it since creation meant what he said. It's so precious to him that it even has a death penalty attached to it.

I have watched a lot of your video debates with all sorts of folks (muslims). I will simply say, _wow_ ...... I do not have the info and debating skills as Sam has but He reaches me and confirms what has been in my heart from many many many years past. He speaks with knowledge, and allowed me to fall in-love again with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit all over again. And to Mary, being a humble woman and saying "yes" to God. If you only see the Sabbaths as legal holy days, then you do not understand the Sabbaths and the true purpose they hold. It's not about legalism. It's about production. If you never rest your fields/crops , production drops drastically. We need the 7th day Sabbath, and keeping it "holy" isn't ritualistic but Devine design.

It is his resurrection that we must celebrate for without his resurrection there is absolutely no hope for you and me or all of mankind to enter into heaven. 1corinthians 15:17-18.
