Why did I choose a RAM truck?

Talking about why I chose to buy a RAM over other brands. I owned Toyota Tundras from 2003 through 2018. Then a 2019 Chevy 1500 from 2021 until I bought the RAM December 2022. And thus far I love this truck and made the right choice.

I’ve had my 2015 Rebel since 2016. It’s my 5th Ram. By far and away, the best, most comfortable truck I’ve ever had. 96k miles and I don’t plan on letting it go for a while. Nice truck choice by you. I like the grill on your Power Wagon. Never saw that style.

$80,000+ MSRP for a gas truck...unbelievable for a truck with a front end that ugly. I can get an LTZ chevrolet for $68,000 and add my own mud tires and level kit...these things are $80,000 for level 2 equiptment group..

I have a 2022 RAM 2500 Laramie Hemi 4x4 as a daily driver. It does everything I need to do.

So I factory ordered a 2500 Laramie. But this Power Wagon showed up on the lot before my ordered truck did. I was still waiting after 5 months.

This is not just a Ram truck, it's a Power Wagon right? Power Wagons have a great history starting in the military in 1946. I have a 75th, great truck!

So my goal (if I can get this channel to take off) is to buy and restore an original Power Wagon. That will by my Friday driver.

I bought the 2019 Power Wagon new in 2019, first year they put the 8 speed in plus it has the6 seats (don't know why it went away) and i have a family of 6 (have a family wagon too), I was hesitant with the old tranny but this 8 speed is great. I take it everywhere and with the RAM Boxes all my equipment is with me. Love it and dont see me ever trading it in unless something catastrophic goes but for now it is just little things like swaybar links that have a short lifespan, just super happy i got mine fully loaded 12", leather, camera and so forth before prices went nuts. Had 32 miles on it but it was the end of 2019 so i paid $57,000, I have had a Raptor and other nice trucks but this is the first one my wife and i both love.

Great video and fantastic truck! I appreciate the background info. I'm on my second tundra a 2019, my 2005 is still running fine, I gave to my nephews because I wanted a better truck and it just wouldn't die. I became a toyota guy decades ago after being burned too many times by domestics, I had to maintain a family fleet, and I don't enjoy working on cars unless it's a performance upgrade, repairs just suck. Anyway I am not a fan (yet) of the "all new" 2022 tundra, just like any mfg. it will have a few bugs to work out being all new, still not sold on the v6 turbo reliability yet either. If something happens to my current truck it will be very hard to pick a replacement. Ram does seem to have the best performance for the price, but for years I have heard other owners complain about reliability, although it usually seems to be little things. I have owned gmc and ford but never a dodge. I really hope you have good luck with that truck, and you seem like a guy like me that won't abuse it, I think that does make a difference. Your new truck is pretty much my dream truck, I'm just not sure if I could pull the trigger. I didn't hear you say what the cost was, I'm just curious it seems like they are all priced out of my range now anyway. I was lucky enough to pick up that 19 tundra 4x4 for $45k new but those kind of prices are long gone now.

Thank you for the feedback. Greatly appreciated. I do not like the new Tundra’s at all. And like you, I am not sold on the turbo V6’s. I do take the truck out to have fun, but I am religious about my preventative maintenance. Oil gets changed before manufacture recommendation. Everything gets a look over when it goes in for a check up. It was pricey. Mine has the Level 3 package on it. Sticker was about 76k…😬

@@sa3key That's a lot of money, but that's a lot of truck, it seems like all the nice ones are in that range now. I look forward to seeing how it goes, and if you have, you may as well have some fun in it. I live in a rural area with a flood plane right down the street. I see the teens do things to trucks that just hurt the soul to watch, I'm sure their parents that are paying for them have no idea. " I have no idea why the trans. went out Dad". But at the same time, it's good to use the 4wd some just to keep it working correctly. I also agree correct maint. is also the key. Enjoy your truck sir and please keep us updated, and if you have a teen son, be careful.

@@sa3key have you ever think about to put 35 tires on your truck? I think it’s going to look much better than the 33s.

@@zhaojeremy2647 I have. But someone put in one of my other videos that it will change a lot of the engineering. Mileage, proper articulation of the suspension, speed, turning. I would need to do a lot more research on it before I did it.

Yes. The Power Wagon only comes with the 6.4 Hemi. The HD Rebel has the Cummins option.
