There is actually a pretty emotional Legends mini-comic called "Being Boba Fett", in which we see how Boba lives day by day, remembering his father's face every time he looks in the mirror before and after sleeping. In that said mini-comic, Boba sets out to assassinate an alleged surviving Jedi of Order 66, but feels unable to kill him in front of his son. The comic ends with Boba looking in the mirror again and saying: "Good night, Dad"

@@mintz9782 yeah same. And why is it that Disney can't kill off a character in a satisfying way. It's always just either mentioned in conversation or the dead body is shown on screen for a few seconds. Disney could make it interesting and show us so much more.

Indeed. I remember reading a book (I believe it was part of a series) about Boba Fett's life before and during the Clone Wars, where he talks about borrowing books from a droid who seems to cry when he tells it that he's leaving Kamino, watches his father's decapitation in slow motion, and, after running into a clone who says, "Oh, I thought you were one of us", thinks to himself, "I'm not one of you. I'm better."

Also in the game Star Wars : Bounty hunter, we see Jango's associate Rose tell him multiple times that his way of life is dangerous, and that he should find himself a wife and start a family someday. Rose is killed at some point near the end of the game. So Jango asking for a son is also a tribute to his former associate in some way.

I like the idea of why jango wanted to be a father because his toidarian friend and carer Roz wanted him to settle down, have a kid. So after her death and when Jango was about accept Dooku's deal he had a moment of thought to pay tribute to his close friend and request an 'unmodified' clone before he accepted being a donor for the clone army. That has a really good reason why jango wanted to be a father than just wanted to be a father. SW bounty hunter has a great story and is a great prequel to episode 2, setting it up for what we all know.
@electricangst2 ай бұрын
I desperately wanted to get that as a kid man, but my parents couldn't afford a PS or Gamecube for me to play it, so i didn't get it until i was much older when i found a copy of Bounty Hunter somewhere and when i got it i can't remember how little i played it i was just a bit off how nice he was to Roz in the beginning and i was kinda hoping he would just be a hard ass like in the films. @@electricangst Jango is a badass in the game, Roz is the only one who he cares about. If you see in the cutscenes, anyone he encounters, he shows how fearful he is to anyone he crosses, kills them if they aren't worth alive and gets whatever information he needs to get his bounty. Imo, the most badass thing he did is on corucant (might've spelled wrong) when he was interrogating the senator. Not sure if you know that from playing more or at least watched the cutscenes if the game's too challenging to beat.

I wouldn't call him a villain. He didn't favor any side or anyone for that matter. To him, everything was about business and completing the job he was being paid to do. He simply did what he had to do to follow through on his contract. As long as he was paid for his services, he didn't care about anything else. It's detailed in the novelization of Attack of the Clones. It also describes how he would spend spare time with Boba, training and bonding with him.

No mention of the Bounty Hunter game or Open Season and other comics? His friend and sort of contract handler Rozatta, a toydarian, always hounded him about retiring and starting a family. She felt he had suffered enough in his past and deserved to be happy. His rival montross attacked and tortured her for information. With her dying breath she told jango to find something to live for beside just money. After taking down the bounty on Komari Vosa by Count Dooku and being offered the clone contract, Jango added his condition of an unmodified clone for himself as his son. As an aside, though she and jango never had a romantic relationship, zam wessel took on the role of bobas mother and made a point of bringing boba a book back from trips. Jango taught him to read of course but he focused on technical manuals and non fiction materials while zam got him actual stories for entertainment.

The Mandalorian sorta expands on this further. With the status of a Mandalorian's... Mandalorian-ness dependent on what one believes in (born on Mandalore vs raised by a Foundling), it opens the possibility that Jango, himself a foundling, wanted Boba to be a Mandalorian based on what he believed in, with the bonus of being a complete copy of him, and trained by him. The Clone Wars and Jango getting killed derailed those plans, and Boba went his own way. Perhaps his want of being a Daimyo on Tattooine is his own way of wanting to establish a legacy, as he was his father's.

As being a father, mentor and having someone to look out for and pass on his legacy as one of the last True Mandolorians (not some Death Watch terrorist) fleshed out Jango a lot.

Look i like Djinn, he's cool and everything, but Jango just shit's on him because he's more of a hard ass, and the armor's clearly just a clone of Jango's.

He started Boba off right with the DL-12 baby. That was my favorite in EA Battlefront next to the E-11

To be fair I wouldn't take too much pride in a clone army knowing they're basically children sending them to die for nothing

THIS is stuff we should have seen in a boba fett show...

Jango loved boba and had no love of compassion for the clones, Boba had respect towards them, sympathetic towards them, didn’t want to kill them unnecessarily, deep down he knew they were his brothers.

In the REAL canon Boba became MANDALORE and didn't destroy the planet. Also taught the solo daughter how to fight so she could best her with brother 🤘🏻

Dang, I guess despite everything bad that he did, Jango Fett had a really good head on his shoulders 😅
