I used to see huskies in Queensland, Australia too. People are selfish and don’t think of the welfare of the dog. Some breeds are only made for certain climates. Thank you for saving her!

There are so many Huskeys in Dubai, even though breeding them is illegal. Every summer, when temps reach 50deg, there is a huge increase in dumped huskeys. Left in the deserts, tied to poles, dumped at vets etc. There are hundreds in shelters here that will never get out. They should never be in this climate. People can't deal with their energy during the summer.

Niall, Bowie is so blessed and she is beautiful her eyes show the tired toll the heat is taking on her, gosh they are ment to pull sleighs in snowey countries......she has a wonderful nature and when cool will be full of play and exuberance. I'm praying brother turns up well and uninjured.Amen. Scotland also would give her good comfortable winters, I have a friend who has a husky and he suffers in the summer here all his energy goes into keeping cool and panting. So sad about the other husky not being found. Can only imagine one of the selfish, cruel villa owners harmed him/her, which seems to happen often in Thailand when these poor dogs are resented rather than given compassion. I live in Panamá and unfortunately huskies are one of the “it dogs” here. It’s very sad to see them suffering in the heat. I don’t think the owners have any idea how uncomfortable they must be - and if they do they shouldn’t be allowed to have dogs at all.

I really hope you can find a home for her in a northern climate - Scandinavia would be best, as you mentioned. Yes, huskies have double coats, so like someone else commented, do not shave it. It will never be as nice and even. I read that the guard hairs/long outer hairs grow at a different rate than the fluffy undercoat. Maybe you've already done this, but if someone could spend some time combing her to get out the dead/loose hair, that would help her feel at least somewhat more comfortable in the heat and humidity. I know you are all so busy with everything else, that grooming is understandably pushed down the list, but in her case, I think she'd really benefit. Well, enough advice from this armchair - I admire all of you for your hard work and dedication. I would wilt in a minute over there in the heat and humidity. And I hope you're able to rescue her buddy, too.

Huskies are popular here in New England in the US. We have the right climate and our friends had a pretty girl like Bowie for years ❤

Quite a few huskies around here in Devon. But our summers are nowhere as hot as Thailand. The ones near me are walked very early in the morning and evening, and winter there is a running track for the dogs through the woods where they pull sledge on wheels. It's fun to watch the huskies enjoying their runs. Hopefully Bowie will soon find her forever home 🥰.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona where summer temperatures reach 118F. Guess what dog breed is fairly common at our local shelter? Huskies of course. It is so hot here I only walk my Chihuahuas in the evening when the pavement has cooled, and that breed is from Mexico! I cannot fathom what people are thinking, buying and then abandoning Huskies who were bred to work on sled teams and run in the snow. 😢 I hope that Bowie (great name) finds a loving home in Alaska, Canada or Scandinavia where it is freezing cold for much of the year. 💝

But for god's sake don't shave her, the fur allows them to regulate the temperature, so they do quite well in this climate.

Northern countries 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻 for Bowie. Same hair as my doggy Swiss white shepherd. Live in Switzerland 🇨🇭 and during summer the heat is too much for him. We walk early and late…in the woods. But this year no problem with our extremely bad summer 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭

As the owner of two huskies, foster of many and part of many husky groups, yes they do have a double coat but it is protective in both cold and hot temperatures. She has shed her winter coat and has her summer one so she is ok. Of course two things, no dog loves to be out in horrid heat and two she needs some great grooming. Based on what I’m seeing she needs a good bath with a blow dry to blow up some of that compacted undercoat and a ton of brushing. It will help her coat to breathe. Please make sure whoever adopts her understands the care she needs more than their location.

We adopted a husky and we live in Adelaide, Australia. We brought him to the snow and he loved it. We say the same thing - huskies should not be in Australia. Hope you get to find her a home where she can enjoy the snow most of the year cos she deserves it.

Niall, great job, pls try to save the other one, too. We see here (Germany) also too many Huskies tho the climate is tempered. But spring and summer - no way! They are energetic and should to run 3-4 hrs daily. Find a northern home if possible 🙏🫶

I was coming along Chaweng Beach Road one evening a few months ago (around the time of the heatwave) and saw a gathering of Farrang with their Husky dogs. There must of been 6-8 Huskies, I couldn't believe it. Also, do you guys use drones to try and locate dogs? Keep up the amazing work. Love what you do. 💙

She is a lovely Husky, shouldn't have any problem rehoming her, but saying that, Huskies are hard work and if they don't think you are up to the job will ignore you as they are bred to think for themselves [as told to me by a Husky trainer]. Thy do have double coats which do keep them cool as well as warm and they must never be clipped out as the coat doesn't grow back the same

definitely a climate with long winters, i.e. Canada is another option
