for your information, in case you wondered. "Schwarznasenschaf" while being written in a very confusing manner to non-german-speaking people, literally just translates to "black nose sheep". we germans just tend to combine words to make a new one. for example turtle is "Schildkröte" in german, which translates to "shield toad"...so...yeah. hope this was worth a read ^^

Because it’s main design is not based on cotton based plants, it’s based on a dandelions the plants you blow on and make a wish from, which we have a lot here in the UK. Granted I will say it of course has inspiration from plants that produce cotton but it’s main design is based on a dandelion

because AFTER the industrial revolution, England began importing most of Europe's cotton. (90% of it) and used their newly invented steam-powered looms to mass produce cotton fabric for the rest of the world. It was significantly faster to export cotton to england, and wait to get the cloth back, than it was to make the cloth at home without the industrial machines.

Sheep Pokémon are a necessity for Galar- a UK based region. For starters; Wales is extremely famous for sheep and farming, especially for the meat (Welsh lamb is some of the best). From personal experience, you can’t go too far without seeing them in Wales. Side note- Derby, a town in England, is also heavily linked to sheep, to the extent of the sign for it in BSL (British Sign Language) sign is the same as the sign for sheep. Additionally, sheep significant and super important historically in the UK. The Wool Trade was extremely popular, and a massive source of income for many people, and even the country as a whole. Wool was commonly exported and sold globally with the Wool Trade, which allowed a massive source of income for the country. Even without looking far into it, sheep belong in Galar (the UK)- perhaps more so than any other region.

German here: Walliser Schwarznasenschaf (Black Nose Sheep) is pronounced this way: Schwarz = sch pronounced like sh in sheep, w pronounced like the w in water, arz like the artz in quartz (IPA: ʃvarts) Nasen = N pronounced like n in nose, a is a longer noice like if you get it and say Aah, sen is pronounsed like zen in zengarden (IPA: naːzən) Schaf = Sch like sh in sheep, a again like Aah, and f like f in foul (IPA: ʃaːf) Also the short melody from the german national anthem "Deutschlandlied" is from the "forbidden" first stanza (not really forbidden but extreamly taboo). Which was heavily used during WW2 and is assoziated with this time. If you ever refer to germany again in this way please use the third stanza. (You can lookup this in wikipedia in the article about "Deutschlandlied" second sentence)

@maxxor-overworldhero6730

Fun Fact, that stereotype started because the Welsh and Scottish during British occupation stole sheep in the middle of the night (because British control over the sheep and wool production was highly exploitative of said people). The theft of sheep and other livestock at the time was punishable by death. Getting caught "shagging" however had a much less severe punishment. So as a common joke goes, must've been pretty awkward for the British soldier who was first given that excuse by the Welshman who got caught in the process of sheep-napping.

Want to know the best way I've found to shear my Wooloos? MANSCAPES LAWN-MOWER 3.0!!! Honestly though, saw the thumb nail and 100% expected them to be the sponsor; considering how wooly balls needing to be sheared kind of writes itself right on in.

I think another aspect of wooloo is their dimpled fur might also be a ball reference, a golf ball! Which iirc would make since for the region, specifically Scotland

Dubwool's Shield dex entry stating that its horns are only used to attract mates and not for battling is fitting too, because in-game, Dubwool cannot learn any horn-based moves, not even via TM/TR

You should do a region on Ethiopia or Southern Africa (not the country, the area). For Ethiopia, you could do something about it being one of the first Christian kingdoms and how it was seen as a far away country surrounded by enemies (The Muslim world surrounding Ethiopia). Maybe even do some Pokémon about the story of King Solomon and the ties between him and Ethiopia and also the Ark of The Covenant (maybe a Pokémon on it). there’s also the Bale Mountain Vervet, Ethiopian wolf, and Walia Ibex and/or Mountain Nyala, which could be Pokémon. There’s also the Italian influence around the time of ww2 and French influence in Djibouti. There a lot of mountains, the Sahara, the Nile, and high plateaus. For Southern Africa you could do something with tribes there like the Zulu. There was the Boers and British expansion in the area. There was the Portuguese in Mozambique and Angola. There was also the invasion of German Namibia. Theres the central plateau and Cape Fold Mountains. Theres the Great Escarpment with big steep slopes connecting the other two areas. There is the Namib desert and Kalahari desert and theres the bushveld woodland and there’s Savannahs, woodlands and deserts in Botswana. In Mozambique, there coastal lowlands, high plateaus, and western mountains. You could maybe add Madagascar and other islands near the area but the might be too big. There’s the Horned Adder, African Clawed Frog, African Penguin, Cape Dwarf Chameleon, Marabou stork, Cape Cobra, and African Bush Elephant, all of which could be new Pokémon. I had an idea for a Pokémon. It’s arms was supposed to be a South African Blood Lily , and it’s body being either a bigger blood lily or the leaves and stems in a spherical shape. The evolved version can be a mixture of blood lilies and spider lilies, making it a red spiked spider plant that could be poison and leaf since blood lilies are poisonous. I tried to draw it but I can’t draw in the Pokémon style.

I'm currently working on a region based on West Africa (specifically Ghana and the Cote d'Ivoire). Africa could do with some more representation in Pokémon however due to how many people play Pokémon from these countries, the Pokémon company are most likely to produce regions based around Europe, East Asia and North America - where most fans are from. Also it depends on available languages that they have translated the game into. Luckily fakemon regions don't apply to these rules!! I find African history very interesting but lacking in as much research as European history. African flora and fauna is also SO diverse and could provide many inspirations for Pokémon. Definitely agree that Ethiopia in particular is a country that has such a rich history that it could be converted to a unique Pokémon game.

@@shqip_sumejja now I really want to see the Pokémon you do. I don’t really know much about Western Africa other then the countries there and the French, British, and Spanish expansion in the area.
