How to paint beautiful loose watercolor leaves with one brush and ready-mixed greens.

Paint a page of leaves with me to perfect your brush technique! Today we're using just one round brush, with a good point, to paint ten different styles of leaf. We'll be using lots of different brush movements like turning, twisting and printing as well as the more common long and short strokes.

I have always bought my favorite brushes from Drawell direct from Japan. They are handmade in Japan. Drawell will ship readily to anywhere in the world. Diane, I've never seen anyone paint leaves as beautifully as you! I still struggle with them, but I think this tutorial will help me. I'm going to paint a large paper full of leaves today to practice. Yesterday I was in the used book store and I was browsing the artbook section the gal volunteering there asked if I painted. She said she lives in a retirement home that offers watercolor classes to their residents. She said they only meet once a week and she needs help in between those times to practice. I asked if she was ever on KZfaq and she said yes, so I wrote down your channel name for her and she said she couldn't wait to get off shift to check it out. She's going to learn so much from you and hopefully she'll share your channel with her watercolor friends in their group.

What a perfect exercise for those times when I just need time to be pensive ... seeing different greens come to life in various leaf shapes is almost meditative! No pressure to make the perfect "scene", but just enjoy putting brush to paper. Thank you!

Some days words are unnecessary. It can be soothing just to paint. If there is a reason you don't feel like talking, I hope all ends up well. I really appreciate your technique videos and your longer painting videos.

Well, I made a mess even though been trying wc for a year. Yours are beautiful!! Don't know where I got the nerve to post it on your FB page but it's there for all the world to see LOL. Painting is not relaxing for me, it's frustrating. But it's like any craft that I have finally learned, it's only relaxing after skills gained. thanks so much for this lovely vid.

You‘re right Kathy, it‘s nerve wracking at the beginning whatever it is. I‘ve just learnt a new recipe for making gluten free bread, which has finally turned out reasonably edible. The first time of making was quite tense! And the second, and third! By loaf no. 6 I‘m going to be feeling more confident. And all that for COOOKING!
