Objection: "Daredevil" was actually Matt's nickname that his good ol' pops gave him, because he wasn't afraid of anything (he IS "the man without fear", after all). Any chance of Matt actually thinking he's a sinner has been debunked by the many (and I mean MANY) times Mephisto and his son Blackheart have tried to get his soul through subterfuge. Had he been an actual sinner, Mephisto could have simply reached over and taken him. That doesn't mean that Matt has a high opinion of himself - that task goes to his best friend. No, I'm not talking of foggy Nelson, I'm talking of Peter Parker - in the comics, DD and Spidey are absolute besties, so much that when Peter was replaced by Ben Riley DD took it as a personal offense and snubbed the neo-spidey big time.

It's like how Batman made himself to be a terrifying figure in the eyes of criminals. It's to be a symbol of fear in the hearts of the wicked. I think the Daredevil Netflix series described it pretty well: Matt Murdock : And how do you know the angels and the Devil inside me aren't the same thing? Father Lantom : I don't, but nothing drives people to the church faster than the thought of the Devil snapping at their heels. Maybe that was God's plan all along, why he created him, allowed him to fall from grace to become a symbol to be feared warning to us all to tread the path of the righteous.

Daredevil has intentionally used lethal force on a few occasions. Either because his judgement was clouded. Or because he genuinly determined that it was necessary, to protect the public. He always angsted about it afterwards, and called himself a hypocrite. But he still did it. I always found it interesting how he doesnt have an absolute code against killing. But is more like a cop who regretfully shoots in the line of duty. And that he does have some serious behavioral problems that can make him screw up. Flaws like those make for a more believeable and engaging character.

I may be mistaken, but I think Matt made a promise to his dad not be like him (in the sense of all the fighting), and so dressing up as the devil, he goes against what his father wanted, and carries that guilt with him both religiously and on his actual skin Daredevil is just so awesome.

I think daredevil would be a dumb name for ghost rider like yea it fits a bit but I like ghost rider more and it still fits fine and is a way cooler name for the look and not all ghost riders were daredevils and the argument for Batman for daredevil literally stops at sonar and works at night I feel if they had made him a bat costume it would be a bit cheesy plus the daredevil design is so cool as is and still works with his character being religious as the short points out

While he does have a lot of rage contained inside him he doesn’t really let it out on most occasion not letting it control him or be the overwhelming emotion for his actions. IMO he better fits green lanterns due to his courage and willpower to go through what life has thrown at him and not given into pure rage but instead has pushed though to be a better person and try and punish evil. Plus he is known as the man without fear so that is fitting for a green lantern who main enemy is usually the yellow lantern corp which is fear. There is also the argument for him being a yellow lantern because of his use of fear in his crime fighting. Not saying he doesn’t fit red just that I feel green or yellow fit him better
