One thing you got wrong: even if Gabriel Agreste gets his wish to bring his wife back I don't think he would change back to a good person considering he has gotten obsessed with power and wants ALL the Miraculouses.

Gabriel says to read what is in his heart, What is in Gabriel's heart? It isn't just healing Emilie every season he said what he wanted and always added something. He wants Emilie Adrien and him to be a happy family again that would mean he won't die, he wants to rule the world, Natalie be healed, Tsrugi also wans something, when Monarch akumatized Kagami in Perfection Tsrugi came in and slammed her staff on Gabriel's Cataclysmed arm saying "you put an akuma in Kagami's ring you endangered her, if I don't get what I want I'll take away your dream just like you tried to do with mine" (Kagami is a Senti-being) if what is in his heart doesn't include what Tomoe Tsrugi wants then Adrien will be in danger. Gabriel and Tsrugi also wants Adrien and Kagami to be a royal power couple

At this point, there's no way back for Gabriel. It would be good if Emilie woulb be revived instead of Gabriel life, but I think that one of the meaning of the show is that you have to let go those who passed away or you'll become mad.
