In 2017 I went with the Giulia over the 3-Series, but it was only because the Giulia was so beautiful, I heard the Ferrari designed suspension was better than BMW, and I'd already had two BMWs previously. I drool over the M340i, and the new M2, but then I go drive the Giulia and think "what do I need a new car for?" 🙂 However, you are correct BMW is just really hard to beat. I had an Acura TL which was excellent, then I got a BMW and yes, the BMW did cost about 20% more than the TL, but the second you sat in it, you saw and felt the quality difference. The Acura will of course run far longer, but that BMW interior quality is just the best at a given price point.

BMW quality got better, Mercedes and Audi quality got worse. BMW are well engineered, new models from Mercedes just look flashy but suffer from greedy cost cutting.

I fully agree with the title of this video that BMW is a better quality car with all the components in every inch of the vehicle, but the reason why people would choose Mercedes over BMW is STATUS which is silly truth imho.

Bmw is king 👑

People don't want to pay $$$$ for a 4 popper engine... Also their EVs are widely regarded as terrible. WIth the Push to EVs there will be much more consolidation in the industry due to automakers not really being able to differentiate themselves much with EV products. Lastly, Mercedes thinks luxury is screens everywhere and that is not luxury but tacky, impractical and unsafe. Thanks for the good content Ben!

Very nice video. I enjoy watching your videos. I'm from South Korea and BMW is selling extremely well in Korea, too. The Korean market is BMW's third largest market after the U.S. and China. Also BMW is making a huge reinvestment in Korean market as well. They invested 70mil dollars to build BMW driving center which exist only few locations in the world and 120 mil to establish a new logistics center.

I placed in an order for a BMW M2. Granted I ordered through Murray and not Pleasant Grove, but both dealerships are a night and day difference in buying experience from other dealerships I have been to. BMW is the perfect car for someone who wants a practical daily driver that is a blast to drive.

I saw this stat the other day. In the country I reside, out of every 5 new luxury cars sold, 3 are BMWs. This is one of the reasons why I purchased an X3; I see a lot of BMWs on the street, so to resell it might be easier in comparison.

I really love my 2022 ES350 Lexus. Comfort ride and reliability are just unmatched

The new 7 series poops all over the S class just saying, the interior lighting and tv in the back is real luxury stuff while Mercedes hasn’t changed in 7 years

People will go for whatever is the better deal and still have that prestigious badge, on top of being a luxury performance car.

I actually like the new 7 series, and I like the 8 series too.

BMW has free maintenance including oil changes for 1st three years. Huge bonus

BMW quality has definitely remained stable compared to Mercedes which has gotten more problems over years.

German industry is shifting at the moment. Moving forward we will see much fewer foreign cars unless the Germans find a way to cut through NAFTA 2. Couple that with the price of power over there going through the roof and is not due to change until the LNG ports come online to replace the need for oil, coal and gas. Its gonna suck.

Spot on with your analysis, in my country Audi Sales are declining. Mercedes has a Quality Control Issue and 5-10% more expensive, More Issues reported compared to BMW.

It's time to get out of the sales analysis game. This was terrible. If you're saying that BMW has a 2.4 percent market share and Mercedes has 2.5 percent then how is BMW crushing Mercedes? That doesn't even make basic common sense. You then try to convince yourself I guess that 2.5 percent is "equal" to 2.4 percent? Then you're saying that can't get a sporty drive out of the C-Class? Have you never driven a C43 or C63? The C-Class has always been a baby S-Class since like the W202 of 1994, but there has always been a sportier option within the line. So you can't get sporty dynamics and luxury in a C-Class is just flat wrong. Audi has never sold as well as BMW or Mercedes. This has been the case for over 30 years, so that is nothing new. How in the world do you know what some 300 plus Mercedes or BMW dealers are doing? Charging over MSRP is a dealer thing, it has NOTHING to do with the head office of BMW, Mercedes etc. There is no way for you to know what BMW or Mercedes dealers are doing all over the country in every single market. The price difference between a Mercedes and BMW is not a factor in their sales differences as Mercedes outsold BMW for years with higher prices. Once you get out of the entry level models into the mid to upper end models the price difference is negligible. The ATP for the BMW and Mercedes brands is about 3-4K apart overall if you actually look at the data. As of last November they were both right at 72K for both brands. Both BMW and Mercedes made record profits last year in the billions. BMW does have a hotter hand at the moment for sure, they're stacked with performance cars in every segment no arguing with that. A car salesman will say anything, what he says is the same thing any salesman would say. No salesman is going to get on camera and trash the brand they're selling.

Still too many plastics (because they're cheaper than steel) used for hoses, etc., around the engine. In time the heat causes them to crack and leak.

BMW has officially ruined their last good looking car, X5. They managed to ruin it without giving it the big grille treatment, impressive to say the least.

Both are overpriced and over engineered leading to costly repairs and maintenance costs.
