Thus, the call to "repent and be baptized" was initially directed at them, as they required signs to believe (1 Corinthians 1:22). 2.) The book of Acts illustrates several transitions, notably with Paul assuming a prominent role as our minister (Romans 11:13). 3.) Today, to follow Jesus means adhering to the teachings of Paul, as indicated in 1 Corinthians 11:1. 4.) Repentance now entails turning away from spiritual lostness and embracing the gospel of salvation revealed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. It's vital because a gospel devoid of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ lacks the power to save (Romans 3:25 KJV). Preaching a gospel devoid of the essentials risks promoting a works-based salvation, undermining the foundational truth of salvation through Christ's sacrifice. This lukewarm approach must be challenged, emphasizing the importance of rightly handling the scriptures, as urged in 2 Timothy 2:15.

I agree. Besides, each of us will have to face the Lord one day regarding our eternal destination. The Jesus of the Bible brings grace and truth (see John 1:17). Yes, He brings grace…but He also brings truth! Sometimes truth means we need to change and repent.

Great question, I really had to think about that. If you ask 10 people you’d probably get all different answers but in my opinion since you did ask for it, it is behavior that attempts to normalize, celebrate, or sensationalize something that is either a principle of common sense for an ethical or just person, or justification of something morally wrong or sinful, and to do that from a position of virtue or extreme pride while being accusatory.

I totally agree, Isaiah. I felt instantly uncomfortable when I watched this. And while I couldn't quite articulate the issue I had with it, it just felt borderline blasphemous. Like they were using something GOOD that Jesus did and were twisting it to make us feel like speaking out against sin was speaking against Jesus' teaching. It is very manipulative.

I know you commented two months ago but this ad ran recently during the KY Derby and some in my Bible study commented on it. I had done research on this ad back in March 2024 because I too was uncomfortable with the message. This podcast commentary is from Allie Beth Stuckey and is based on Scripture. Mr. Rogers did this on tv back in my day (Gen X, here) with his mailman. He invited him to cool his feet off in a kid pool. John 16 tells us of the priority and work of the Holy Spirit. He convicts the unbeliever of sin, He convicts of righteousness through His propitiation and righteousness in which the believer now lives in, and He convicts the world of judgement, since the devil, or god of this world is judged. These images of feet washing are lovely for convicting the church of righteousness, through humility and valuing what Jesus valued, the souls of men. However, the message of “He gets us” leaves little room for the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin, unbelief, and judgement. All of these things must come together for a revival message to impact. But we the church can receive from this if we value Him, humble ourselves, and love like He loved.

We're not even suppose to bid these folks Godspeed nor let them in our homes. Yes pray for them. Yes feed them and give them drink if they need it. Yes let them come sit in church. @@catherinek3409 that tickled me. All of what I typed is biblical (straightout the bible). God can not have sin in his kingdom. To be of the LBGTQIA+S2 community is literally telling God that his order for one man and one woman to be under his convent (marriage) is wrong. Its equivalent to telling God that He was wrong for making them a boy as they want to be identified as a girl or stapler. You do know that there is a transgender lowercase god called balpomet who has a head of a goat, breasts of a woman, and legs of a different animal. Dont get me wrong, God still loves them as they belong to him but on that same token God simply can not condone one who purposely and willfully go against His law. Pray for them to turn away from their sin. Note: I follow God's law by accepting His only son YESHUA aka Jesus and live a life of repentance. Trust me when I say...no hell is waiting on me. Praise The King...JESUS!!
