Several United managers have been sacked and many of them have misunderstood Rashford’s best position. He is not a centreforward to lead the attack. Neither is he a winger or inside forward. His best role is playing as a second striker. Last season we literally saw the best version of Rashford with Weghorst’s off the ball movement pulling defenders away and Rashford starting from a central and deeper position moving into the space.

You touched on how Rashford could play well under De Zerbi but only in the build up, which would create - as you call it - artificial counter attacks, but what happens when we sustain possession and have the opposition pinned on the edge of their box in a low block, where there's no space for Rashford to make runs? Is he savvy enough to lose a defender and find space to score tap ins in a tight box? Is he savvy enough to link up with teammates with one two's in tight spaces and create angles to score? Can Rashford play in tight spaces? Is he willing to create for his teammates? Is he willing to make unselfish runs for the benefit of his teammates? Because that is what is going to be required of our forwards, especially the wide forwards. With the resources we can provide De Zerbi along with his style of play, we are going to have most opposition teams in a low block, our forwards have to be smart, crafty and comfortable in tight space (which I think will suit Antony to a tee). One big problem when facing a compact defence unit, he doesn’t look for/can’t find an opportunity to pass/square the ball to. Instead he bulldozed through the defence and lose possession at the first attempt. On a fast counter-attack he doesn’t face that problem often. That’s why I say, he missed Luke Shaw.

Love your content mate BUT i'll just say this, when it comes to predicting things related to football like whether or not a manager/player would be successful is something that's actually very difficult to do. This is especially true for United over the past decade. I'm pretty sure you've said a couple years back that he would be the best option and he's about to or could become an elite-level manager. I thought the same too and so did many people but we can see clearly that ETH is not going to be an elite manager and isn't winning the PL/CL with United at least. This is not a dig against you or anything, its just that trying to predict such things, even with meticulous research and data analysis, is still so difficult because there are way too many variables. On Rashford I do think that he could do well under RDZ but I don't see INEOS going for him. I think it is time to move on Rashford if a decent offer comes in which I also don't think will happen but who knows.

In my opinion, I'd like to believe that when Rashford is playing at his best, he's unplayable and the same goes for Sancho. This is spot on. It feels like we are still talking about Rashy's potential (which he clearly has) at 26. He is not gonna achieve that at utd. For me, he needs to go to a club where fans don't owe him love, his place in the squad isn't guaranteed and the club don't owe him to be the highest paid player.
