This year I’m turning 40 and I’ve finally ditched the dieting, overtraining, and the scale. After decades of chronic 1200 calorie dieting, weight circuits, HIIT, skipping sleep, and the adrenaline junkie lifestyle I stopped weighing myself and began proper strength training, sleeping, resting, and eating a meat based diet to satiety. I transformed my body, my mental health, and my life. I finally found freedom. And I can finally be a good role model to my three daughters ❤

Man, this is so true. I have recently lost 20kg, and at the moment, my weight has flat lined at 114kg. Every time I weigh myself, I feel like I am no longer making progress, but it is just not true as I am lifting more at the gym and feeling amazing. I watch your clips all the time your guidance has been amazing 👏 thanks guys for all the work you do in the fitness space.

I generally only pay attention to the scale when I'm trying to lose weight, knowing that my weight will fluctuate day by day. I can always tell by how I feel that things are going the right direction or not. I begin to have more energy, feel lighter, etc.

I just stopped using my food tracker (Carbon) and a big part of it was that I stopped listening to my body, and I would eat past hunger on low activity days to meet my calorie targets. The daily weight checks were also a problem and took my focus away from what matters. Now I'm focused on protein, being a little hungry through the day, and I've started to slim down.

This topic is right on time! I just came from seeing my weight management doctor and I’ve been consistently lifting and prioritizing my protein. I can tell a difference in my clothes and how I look very slightly. I know I’m building muscle but when they weighed me it totally wrecked my mood. I had lost a few pounds between appointments I only knew that from another doctors appointment as I don’t use my scale at home anymore. I lost a few pounds and then went back to my initial weight. It was so discouraging next time Im gonna tell them I don’t want to know 😂

I still weigh myself weekly if not more often. However, the number it shows is just a number. I have been hovering around the same weight plus or minus 5 lb for months now. My clothes are all fitting better. My body is in better shape and looks better than it has in decades. Someday when I have built the physique I desire I might see how lean I can get. Until then the number on the scale is just another point of data for me
