My mom kicked me out when I was 18. She didn’t believe that she needed to take care of me after I turned 18. Wasn’t a very good mother. I was in college at the time and I had a boyfriend (we weren’t doing well). He let me stay with him for a while and we got an apartment together (he was in his moms house before). We moved out, the relationship got very very bad. He started hitting me and we hated each other. I was very suicidal and depressed. I didn’t have money to go anywhere else. My mom didn’t want me back. I had no other family. I wanted out. I got my dream job as a 911 operator 2 years into our horrible relationship and saved enough money to leave him. It took so long but I did it. I got a small 1 bedroom apt on the first floor of a house and I loved it at first because I was away from my ex. But I was still very depressed, struggling with money and admittedly very very lonely. I hated living alone. It was always quiet. I was always in my thoughts with my own issues, traumas, problems. I kinda hated myself and began to hate my job. Being an operator was very stressful at such a young age. It was my dream job, I had my dream apartment and no one was controlling me. But I still wasn’t happy. I met my current boyfriend online just months after I moved out. He lived in England and I lived in New York City. I’ve never been out of the USA before and never thought to move to another state. I visited him 2 times within the span of 6 months for 2 weeks each. And it was difficult. Being so far away. But I loved him and he loved me. One night when I was confiding in him about work and finances and how I’m so young and afraid, he told me that If I really wanted to just start my life again, I could put my trust in him and start a new life in England. It took me a while to say yes. Simply because I was afraid of a man from my last relationship, I kinda liked living alone because I had some freedom apart from a relationship and I was afraid I wouldn’t be happy. But when I weighted the two, I preferred him. I planned for months. I saved money. I quit my job, sold my furniture, packed bags and sent important items to myself through the mail, booked a one way ticket to England and have been living in the UK with my boyfriend for about 2 months. Now, this isn’t a magical, fairy tale love story. But it’s something….

I lived in a university dorm before the pandemic and then during the pandemic I could have gone home but my parents are toxic so I rented a condo unit instead. I relate with you so much. I also went through a very depressed phase and I think that took a toll on my relationship with my ex. I still am battling with it now but on a lesser degree like I wake up and I feel feel so shitty sometimes and I don't cry everyday anymore (maybe once a week, lol). I also agree that in order to move on from that very depressed state I had to take care of myself more. Ily Negeen, thanks for sharing.

Also, in buying a dog consider their habits. Some dogs are neat and some love to play with dirt that’s why they become smelly.
