I started drinking from the age of 14 years old, a small glass with dinner which led me to going to the pub aged 15. This is my journey from how it went from social drinking to isolated drinking and what made me make the lifetime decision to quit the booze for good. Please have a watch and leave some comments. Great video, i can relate to lots of what you’ve spoke about. I’m almost 6 weeks sober, not the first time I’ve stopped drinking, but the first time I thought I can’t moderate my drink at all, so its got to be stopped for good . I’ve just had my 50th birthday and it’s the first birthday in my adult years I’ve spent sober and it’s not too bad . My real kick up the bum was having a fatty enlarged liver - as well as being over weight - like you mentioned it doesn’t get any better as you age - drink volume increases and weight , plus you stop enjoying it as much and it becomes routine with bad hangovers, depression and anxiety . Cheers for the videos it helps to see I’m not alone on this journey . My biggest worry is the social side being sober , my whole adult social life has mainly involved drinking .

Thank you for your story..i spent time in the army..alcohol was everywhere..many soldiers self medicate..when i lived in Asia it was everywhere again..if you didnt drink you were seen as strange..now in my fifties i have tried to quit..and have had some withdrawals..not pleasant..to put it mildly..its scary..but absolutely legal..at least in the west..bless all who struggle with this drug.
