Why I left Canada to Move to Serbia 2022

This video is my first about why I left Canada for Serbia. My content will be fun and not just me talking to you, but I felt I needed to explain myself because of all the questions we get!!
Many people have the wrong idea about Serbia. I was one of those people prior to meeting the man of my dreams. It is funny how life changes, and you end up somewhere in the world you would have never imagined, and I could not be happier.
With all moves comes headaches and issues, but it is how you handle it which dictates your success.

I live in Serbia. My car stopped midway through a crossroad. 2 cars pulled over, both drivers came out, pushed my car to the sidewalk and asked me what the problem is. I said it probably needs a push. All other cars behind these two cars patiently waited with no honking or anything. So the guys from the first two cars who came out to see what's going on pushed it back on the road, started pushing the car and I managed to start it. I honked at them as I was leaving, rolled the window and gave them a wave without watching them (eyes on the road). I didn't even know who they were, I was in another city, but that's the way it works here.

Dear Truthseeker, having been born and raised in Canada I can only say, sadly, that you certainly spared yourself undue anguish, as the country sinks into a morass of official corruption and moral turpitude under what is marketed as leadership of justin trudeau and his equally corrupt, feckless fake-left cohorts in the ndp and green parties. To subject a whole country to a massive corporate-sponsored experimentt, coupled with a mass-brainwashing operation - all subsidized with our tax dollars, is DIGUSTiNG; to add injury to insult, now the already hopelessly corrupt and criminal so called medical system is encourgaing people to submit to outright murder af the hands of these charlatans masquerading as health care professionals

The school sustem is roddled with absolute official corruption in Canada - the teachers' and nurses' unions pension funds are totally invested in big pharma so there are very serious vested interests at play, involving the rendering of children's minds to mush permanently through drug pushing - the promo of ritalin- is absolutely perverse and sick and the society tolerates that!!! This is our sham democracy - try to fight it, and you will find some bureaucracy - some so called professional order or the other, threatening you with an expensive, harassing lawsuit, or being subject to other official harassment. Then, there is criticism of "young people" - big pharma get its profits, financed by the general public while the children are the cat's paw. When I was in school, we knew who the deug pushers were, and they were generally avoided. Now, the pushers are the teachers and school nurses, with social workers ready to kidnap the children theough an arcane juridical proceeding of which the oarents would not even know until after the corrupted courtnwill have ruled against them - and that sword of damoclese is always hovering above the heads of caring parents who object to the McDiagnosis of adhd or other McDiagnoses spewed forth by the corrupted so called professionals - the bought and paid for paychologists, psychiatrists, directors of "youth centres" - the seized children - all of whom get generous cash incentives for this revolving doir, now more ominous as they can be goven lethal injection as an "option"

There was a Canadian guy who moved to Serbia, Belgrade, and he said on a KZfaq channel that coming to Serbia was like waking up from a coma. 😉😉 I think for most Canadians coming to Serbia is like going to planet Mars, totally different, but in a good way. I had a good friend from Belgrade visiting me in Denmark, where I live, the first thing he asked like 20:00 in the evening, where is all people, I don't even see a cat or dog outside, and no movements inside houses either. For him it was like coming to Twilight Zone.

Belgrade Beat YT channel guy. I think he moved there for the fly bitches and the cheap beer. Then he goes to Thailand during winter. Allegedly has some kind of makeshift software company there but not sure it's a real thing. There's lots of Canadians and Americans with generational wealth. Lots of Canadians live here in the US illegally. What they do is they inherited a condo or a house and rent it out and make good money 'cause rent is crazy expensive there and then they move to the US but they can't get legal here unless they get married so more often than not they end up stuck here. They like it here because it's warmer. Canada, for the most part inaccessible, it's all giant trees, rocks, cliffs, untouched by civilization, grizzly bears and mountain lions that want to eat you, looong harsh winters and everyone lives in just a few populated cities along the US border. That's it. And honestly it was the best country in the world for many decades. 80's being perhaps the best decade but then recently it all went down the toilet. They have a effeminate man-child for president. Everything just seems off in Avery bad way. Same over here.

Welcome to beautiful Serbia! Serbia has its pluses and minuses. I moved here 12 years ago, but I am of Serbian descent and my husband was born in Serbia. Many people have come following COVID because Serbia is a place where people are just naturally seeking freedom of thought, speech and life. You can't keep a good Serb down or locked up! Even after 10 years here, I still haven't seen or done half of what I wanted to! Although the group dynamic can be challenging Serbian people are open, warm and helpful. Try sending your 5th grader to buy a loaf bread in the US or Canada. It really helps to learn the language. It took me a year to be comfortable but now I am very fluent and read and write in cyrillic!

If you ever think about racism in Serbia here is a historical fact for you. Serbia was the first country in Europe that banned slavery in consitution from 1835. One of the oldest democratic constitutions in Europe written by Dimitrije Davidović, it is called Sretenjski ustav or on old serbian "Уставъ Княжества Сербїе". Article 118. banned slavery, stating that a slave, regardless of whether he came alone or with someone, upon entering the soil of Serbia becomes a free man. While in Belgium they had zoo's for black people, in Serbia they could get a college degre. Now same Belgians call us as "savagers"...

I have a funny story about the small talk. A few years ago, a couple of us from Serbia started working for a small US company as software developers. There was this guy from the US who would ask everyone how they were doing after joining a meeting. So a coworker would often say something like, "I'm a little bit tired today" and such. Eventually the guy from the US told him that was just a rhetorical question and that he was not actually supposed to say how he was doing :D :D I really don't like it when people ask that question and don't really care. Buy yeah, Serbia is not a terrible place to live if you work for a foreign company and don't follow politics/never watch TV.

I agree with a lot of what you say...my children were here from 10 years old...initially difficult...had Serbian lessons...then loved it here....made lifelong great friends ( people have school re-unions for ever which is lovely).....best place for children. Abrupt is ok it is honest...dont agree about tipping thing though....they are mostly not well paid and everyone tips. But yes a very big hearted and friendly country....people make time for each other and are very kind in general. Much safer and more wholesome for children definately. I have lived here for 14 years and love it.....the Serbs have a difficult time often economically but their wealth is in their character, family values, kindness and sense of humour....also I prefer the more genuine reactions here to often what can be fake english politeness ( not always though...lots of nice english people too)... but generally speaking...

They are numbing and drugging them just because they are perceived as overly active. It has nothing to do with their ability to learn. Most of these kids are very intelligent and fast learners. The school wants robots sitting at the desks! I'm really considering moving to Serbia at some point. Love your videos. Keep posting them! We made the exact same move recently… From TO to NS. However, both my husband and I are Serbian. Our children were born in Canada, their Serbian is not great, especially the younger one. It’s important to note that if you come here with money, you earned in Canada, you can have a nice life here. Generally, there are many people who struggle here, financially, and with that come other challenges. The way I see it - there are pros and cons to both countries. It is way easier to earn a good living in Canada. The air is much cleaner in Canada. Garbage everywhere in Serbia is annoying, to say the least. Huge lack of a good variety of authentic restaurants…. School in Serbia is unnecessarily difficult. Our kids started in private school, but the older one wanted to continue his education in the public system, once it was time for high school (gimnazija). Very difficult. 16 subjects, with very high expectations. Definitely no fakeness here… and people aren’t easily fooled here. Socially there is always a lot going on! Travel is amazing, because you can drive to many countries or hop on a short flight. But you need money for all that. Food was much cheaper here a year ago but has gone up significantly in the last year. I would even say a 100% increase. There are ofc many differences. Many pros and cons. And different people have different experiences. One thing for sure, is that the general public here doesn’t blindly trust the government, and that is always a good thing! Good luck to everyone who decided to leave their lives behind and start a new chapter somewhere else!

for me, because of my situation , the thing i would appreciate is better air in belgrade. if the goverment ever can raise money, build the economy enuf to raise money it would go a long way to move into solar cars and solar heating or reducing the dependence on coal to heat in the winter. i get people need heat but the quality of life in belgrade would be pretty much unmatched but for the air quality. i notice a significant difference in air quality in pedestrian quarter near kalemegdan and near the river. the air is so much better there. just reducing auto emissions would be huge. i wll probably retire in belgrade. i can't afford to retire in new england where i lve now and the thing i wll mss most is the crisp, perfert air. i guess you can't have everythng

I am an immigrant in Canada...I did not come to this beautiful country to make money, I came here for a better and safer life......now I feel , Canada, in spite of being a beautiful country is not for me. It's so so so difficult for any non-white immigrants to be part of the mainstream society....Canada is not the only country I moved in, I lived in several different countries before moving to Canada....now I am just waiting to move back to a "thrid world" country where I can make friends, talk to people, connect with peoole, enjoy a low cost living, won't need to give my entire life just fotr retirement savings and live a simple and minimalist life. Though I have no regrets of living in Canada...it's another experience of my life.

My friend, you have described life in Canada so well! I would just correct you about one thing - there is no such a thing as a "mainstream society" in Canada for anybody, including those born here as well as "white" immigrants. The only exception are young people during the school time. They naturally tend to form friendships, which may or may not last. Majority of people who immigrated to Canada in last ~20 years feel exactly like you do.

It has been 3.5 yrs in the making and I'll get there. The only thing I will say about Serbia is the äir" feels heavy there. Once you get out of the airport, it feels "heavy"....whether it is cos of all the previous wars and blood spilled, no idea, though one quickly adapts and feels normal. And watch out for the scam taxi drivers yet you quickly learn how to figure them out.

Just to let you know ,your kids will not have problems learning the Serbian language and getting an education in Serbia. I took my son to live in Serbia and he didn't know a word of Serbian, but learned the language and got educated.

Listening to you speak , as well as observing your body language , reminds me of my favourite , long lost , younger version of my aunt ! I was born in Novi Sad , living not far from main Post Office and , I like your choice of place to live . I now live in Australia (43 years! ) and miss my town and my Vojvodina.....I'm so glad you understood and accepted all good , or otherwise , of my country , and all that my birth place have to offer ! God bless !!

Dubai feels much more free than Canada. In Canada, after having been racially profiled by Montreal police (against whom I won a settlement at Human rights), I still feel some angst when I see the uniformed so called law enforcement - NEVER ONCE felt threatened by ANY Dubai official. It is safe to walk out anytime of day or night - restaurants and nightclubs are often open24/7, without any harassment either official or non, and people are fun loving yet very respectful and there is order and cleanliness.

Welcome to Serbia. Welcome to the land of Orthodox Christianity. Yes, sometimes we know to be too direct and straight forward. We say what's on our mind, without hesitation, no fake smiles and bullshit. Whoever loves family, friendship, slow and fun life without too much money is in the right place. But only smoking and slow administration can be quite a problem. But nothing unsolvable :)
@thenixinthemix

The smoking and administration are definitely different but there are far more pros than cons like you said! Thank you for your warm welcoming! We are Serbian Orthodox Christians baptized in a Monestary in Canada and we are happy to be here!

@@thenixinthemix I'm glad you decided to stay, make yourself at home. And I'm glad you liked here. We are always technologically a little (or not so little :D) behind the west, but who knows, sometimes it can be a good thing ;)

@@aleksandarzigic547 No we are not behind? Why u think that? The western best scientists and cardiologists etc are mostly from Balkans and Serbia, not to mention sports. Some of the greatest minds ever lived were born here and u know that, I do not need to remind you of Tesla, for example. and to be honest older technology made 30 years ago was and still is quality and can last forever but today tech is designed this way to not last very long on purpose....
@aleksandarzigic547
@aleksandarzigic547 Жыл бұрын
@@outlawedTV88 Of course, we do have the best minds, scientists, athletes, warriors, but we didn't have a huge territory and huge population to develop safely. This does not mean that we are bad, but due to historical circumstances, due to the constant struggle for survival, we didn't have time to technologically develop alongside the biggest world powers. And that's all..

I am glad that you have found your happiness here. I wish you all best in your new life and welcome to our country. We like to have new friends from foreign countries. Update about racism: There is not much people from other races in Serbia, but example. My friend is black man with origin from Ghana. Since, black people are rare in Serbia, he was interesting to everyone and many people wanted to be friends with him. We are strong anti-fascist and anti-racist society. We don't accept that.

One thing i noticed about our two countries is that here in Serbia we don't throw around term "friend" like it's nothing. It implies that if we call you at 3 am and say "I need you" you will come without a question and it's not offensive to not call somebody "your friend" even if you hang out with them often. Edit: P.S. sry for bad english
