I think radiology suits my *I don't wanna deal with patients and treatment* attitude just fine. Think I've made up my mind finally 😭

What's the future of a radiologist 30 years later with AI growing fast in your opinion ? Is radiology still a right choice for a freshly graduate who loves the lifestyle it offers ?

thanks for the great videos. I didn't know that interventional radiology and classical radiology are two separate specialties. In Germany we can only do classical radiology and if someone is talented and interested to learn interventional radiology and the interventional radiologist has time, you might learn something. Could you maybe make a video about the different programs in UK? and the application process to apply for that program for someone who studied medicine in a different country. I have so many questions. one is also about the income as a radiologist in the UK compared to Germany, Canada and USA. Would you recommend a specific country to specialize in radiology? Thanks in advance :)

How do you feel about the fact that you don't get to know what happens to the patients after you have reported their scans?
@ImranLasker
@ImranLasker 2 жыл бұрын
That's a really good question. I guess it depends on your personality but for me once a scan is done, it's done. I move on to the next one. Advantage can be that work doesn't really follow me once it's done... Unless I make a mistake...

What’s your take on the rise of AI? What could be the role of the future radiologist in an era where AI has advanced so much that it could interpret all kinds of cross sectional imaging pathologies better than a human, and with way less mistakes? I ask because I’m also a radiologist and I’m a bit worried !

Sir , there is talk that AI will affect diagnostic radiology profession. Will it affect radiology job availability or just make life simple for radiologists.

Thank you ❤ Tell us please how do you actually work, is it true that radiologists are very bad clinicians like they dont care about the patient's symptoms and history...., actually I'm really interested in neuroradiology ( I'm confused between neurology and radiology ) I wonder if you want to get in a neuro research field would that be easier by choosing neuroradiology or neurology? Than you so much again

Loved the video! I wonder about your workload, especially when on call. I am also a consuktant radiologisg, and work at a university hospital in Hungary and night shifts can get quite busy especially lately with the 4th wave of the pamdemic.
@ImranLasker
@ImranLasker 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Nice to meet you. Shifts can be busy but it depends on where you work. I used to work at trauma centres which can get a little crazy. I've chosen to work in a more general hospital now where it's not so bad. I also do out of hours for some teleradiology companies and they can get busy but that's because they are covering multiple hospitals. Pandemic wise it was busy during the first wave but it's stabilised with regards to out of hours work. It's the routine work that has gone really crazy. Big big backlog of scans that need to be done and reported in UK

Hii there! Thanks for the video. It’s really informative. I saw in a video that physics in the radiology exam is hard, and it scared me. I’m not a huge fan of physics, but I like radiology. So is the physics really hard?
@ImranLasker
@ImranLasker 3 ай бұрын
It’s not real physics. More like memorise facts. You only have to get through it once and never ever again

Thank you so much for the video!! I'm currently finishing medical school in Portugal, and I chose to go the radiology path, but abroad. Would you suggest any country in particular to do the training? US, UK, Spain? I'm very indecisive at the moment, any opinion would help me a lot, thank you in advance :)

@@ImranLasker Thanks for the reply!! 😊 I was wondering exactly that, because although In the US they make more money, I was also wondering if the lifestyle in a coastal city of spain, like Barcelona, would be a better choice, kind of weighing the pros and cons considering it's a, at least , 5 year long training. Any thoughts on that? :)

@ImranLasker

depends on where you work but usually the patient is under another teams care so you do the procedure and then they go back to the medical/surgical team. So you see and intteract for the day and then that's it. No follow up clinic etc

@ImranLasker
@ImranLasker 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is a max. Very much depends on how much of a hustler you are right. You have your NHS salary which is standard across the board. Then it's all about private work, extra work and any side hustles. I know of a few ppl making in the region of £400k but.... They all work hours which doesn't look pleasant
