I had first stage Phalloplasty i am 4 months and 25 days post op unfortunately I can't stand up to pee yet (it would be my second stage) I haven't had a complication yet I have sensation everywhere, I never felt more comfortable with the lower area in my life, it passes too

I was born with a disability that has no cure etc. I don’t have options and that’s ok with me, I guess it helps to become comfortable with my disabledness. Lol

I'm hoping that by the time I can actually get bottom surgery there will have been improvements to make it safer. Regardless of that though, I am going to get it when I can because I can't live with this dysphoria.

This is actually really interesting to hear someone talk about their thoughts on, like one of my close friends is trans and I know he has similar views on this topic but isn’t like hella comfortable talking about it which is obviously understandable but like go off Noah we stan an informative king

It's not even just about looking at the arm scar and being reminded you're trans (for me), but I've already got a bunch of self-harm scars, and scars in all forms are very triggering for me, plus hating my body and having such a visible scar possibly giving me more reasons to hate myself - man.. Being trans and also gay sucks. I'm honestly happy for when I'll finally be in testosteron, but I'm scared of possible future boyfriend's because I'm as gay as one can be and for them to break up because dowm there I'm not..well, what a cis gay man would want to see😕

Honestly, I feel the same way. I'm not too dysphoric about my genital area anymore since T made it way more bearable, but yeah, if I could, I would get a penis, but I'm not satisfied witht the current options. I don't want to mess up my arm. I don't want to have anything foreign in my body (like a pump). I don't want to have intensive surgery with high risks of complications. I don't want a penis that can't do half the things the real one does. I'm just not into it. I'm personally waiting for them to developp the stem cells route, so they could grow a penis form our cells. That would be fantastic. Unfortunately, seems like that's not happening any time soon.

nah I don't want bottom surgery. I mean I kinda rarely experience bottom dysphoria unless I'm in the shower, but like nah I don't want that surgery. I didn't know you could loose your ability to nut? I don't want that.

I think it's really great to see you and other trans KZfaqrs talk openly about this! Transition can look so different for everyone for a huge variety of reasons and sometimes the media seems to only give us that one "every surgery possible" narrative. Thanks for always being so honest!

Yeah, if I were a trans guy, especially a gay trans guy, I think I would just keep the original equipment. Top surgery seems like a no brainer. It doesn't seem that complicated. As long as you reach a point that you're comfortable and happy with your life. Take it one step at a time and measure your happiness along the way, weight the pros and cons.

Thank you for not bashing bottom surgery results saying it “doesn’t look real”. All your points are valid, but I’d like to touch on the last one from my point of view. It is of course your opinion, but here’s the thing, having a cis penis just isn’t possible. I’m not trying to trigger anyone, but expecting it to be like that is just wrong. Top surgery results are not cis, and sensation is not guaranteed either. Both surgeries are attempting to look as “cis” as possible but it’s never going to be cis. Knowing that it has made it easier for me to accept getting bottom surgery. At the end of the day it is a dick, not a cis dick but that’s all that matters. Aside from that I can totally understand why someone wouldn’t want to go through a major surgery due to recovery/complications and the whole skin graft situation.

this was one of the first videos that I've watched from Noah like in may 2019 and as a 13yo cis girl who had just stumbled upon a trans channel for the first time i was confused of why would "ass surgery" be a step in transitioning lmao, and don't even get me started on all the names and definitions, i pretty much deleted all of them the moment i heard them because of being total unknown for me. well, the beginning of an amazing journey discovering all the lgbtq+ stuff in depth and realizing that i might be a bit part of it haha. stay safe

They have improved over the years with function and complication rates. So here's hoping they will continue to improve. Especially with the scar. That arm scar is definitely something that holds me back because scars are stories and I don't want the story I'd carry to be like oh you weren't born right so you had to take a chunk out of your arm to fix it.

This is super interesting and informative. As a cis woman, I've never had to consider these surgeries but I did think about what it would be like to need them. It makes sense that not everyone would be willing to go through all that, with the risk of not being 100% happy with the results (looks, sensations...). Obviously, many trans men have had the surgery and are very content with it, but I feel like it's important to hear your take on it. You're a man, botton surgery or not.

This would be a great video for you to revisit in a couple more years as you’ve already evolved so much since this was made. Keep on being yourself!

I totally understand where you're coming from. I honestly wish I didn't want bottom surgery- but as soon as I got top, the bottom dysphoria hit me like a brick wall. Honestly, the more I look at surgeries, the more I'm amazed that I even live in a time in history where I have access to surgery, you know? HOWEVER, we really need to stop centering being trans around wanting/getting specific surgeries or medical treatments. We all have a different relationship with gender and our bodies, and its not your business how someone wants to live in their body.

Thank you Noah for being so honest and brave. Because you talk about these topics so openly, people who have doubts can solve them. I’m just so curious about all this stuff because for me it’s like unknown and I want to know more about it so I can understad better people in situations like this.

God im so glad theres someone else who shares the same views as me, I was starting to think there wasnt any other trans person who would choose to not have bottom surgery and I started to feel invalidated because of that, but hearing you say these points makes me feel so much better and like its completely reasonable. I'm so dysphoric about my *that area that I want it at any cost. No matter how it goes. But I know how hard it is right now. Hope the surgery process will improve in the coming years. Btw, I'm 14 right now and maybe it will take almost 30 for me to getting bottom surgery. That's a huge time. I hope things will change then. ^_^

I think your reasons are perfectly valid and truly makes a ton of sense. A 50% chance of complications is truly quite high. Obviously the choice is your choice. Its your body and as long as you are happy then thats all that matters. I started watching your vids a couple of days ago and I personally want to thank you for educating me and for your absolute honesty. I personally have nothing against trans, gay, bi, etc and you have truly expanded my knowledge base so thank you so much.

I'm really happy to know that someone feels like me. I don't like this part of my body but I would not be satisfied with the phaloplastie cause of the danger and the result. It's a personal opinion and I know that this surgery helped many men to feel better but I think it's not for me. Maybe one day we'll find a good solution.

It’s a good topic to talk about and I think you’re brave to talk about it. If I was a trans man I would probably think along those lines as well, have the same thoughts as you. When they improve the skin graft possibilities it might be worth it, synthetic skin or grafted from an animal, that wouldn’t include nerves so maybe it’s not ideal anyway. Blessings from Sweden 🇸🇪

Thank You for being honest Noah. As a trans woman im in a similar situation. Hopefully some time in the future perhaps they could advance things to where trans men and trans woman could just sort of swap. I know its very simplistic calling it a swap but itd be nice for everyone if it was possible.

I'm glad I watched this video. I came to it as someone who is hoping to get a date for my first bottom surgery next month (they keep delaying it though, it's really annoying) and I expected to walk away less sure and feeling frightened. That hasn't happened, your reasons are personal to you, and you explained it all in a really nonbiased way! I know I personally just don't feel like I've completed my transition yet, and I need that feeling of... Closure? I don't expect to be 'happy' with my results (heck, I'm not even happy with the top surgery results, I look like a lumpy piece of meat someone attacked with an ice cream scoop) but I hope to no longer be thinking about it constantly and feeling bad about myself. Deformed arm... Yeah, I'll have that. I plan to get an awesome tattoo to turn it into something more positive. If people ask, I'll lie about it. I've already lied to my boss about what I've been in hospital for. It may well serve as an unpleasant reminder, but I'd rather the reminder be that than... Something else. Complications and long recoveries don't scare me. I tell myself everything will be fine, and if it's not I can deal with it later, I just need it done. That worked with my first surgery, and I recovered astonishingly quickly, everyone was pretty surprised including me. Maybe I also want it for the wrong reasons too. Like if I meet the right guy, but I'm paranoid pants contents is important. Then I can look at myself and just think... "I tried." I suppose really I'm just sick of feeling wrong, so if I end up looking like frankenstein's monster instead, I guess that's better. I don't have time to wait for medical advancements, far too much of my life has passed me by already waiting for this. Went on a bit of miserable tangent at the end there, but oh well. Thanks for making this video and all your others. Found your channel today, and the videos seem to be the first things I've found in years that have made me feel better about my situation. It's great!

Its interesting because im in the thinking process to decide whether or not i want bottom surgery myself. Im MTF and ive made the decision of getting top surgery (if that still applies to transgender women. Not 100% sure of the terminology) but if you want it then i support u 100%. And even if u dont then i still support u. 💕

My ex had bottom surgery. He thought he was having 4 surgeries. So far it's been 12! I also have a friend who is married to a straight female who is not having bottom surgery. He says that he values his health and his life more than that.
