i'm at my second retail job and it's such a hassle and pain in the ass...after this i'm done with retail, i'd rather milk cows for a living than work in retail

Imagine being so fed up with your retail job that you don't even care if you get paid less because you want your peace of mind and not have Karens and male karens yelling at you due to things that are out of your control and them thinking that they are always right! I can relate to the part where the managers are slow to help you because they are either busy with doing something else or the other managers don't really see things as a priority unless they feel like it is. I also related to the part where you have to go home and pretend that everything's okay but then over time the anxiety just gets worse and worse and then you end up having severe anxiety attacks where you have to go on medical leave. I am ready to find another job and I want it to be different from my soon-to-be or probably by now a former retail job. If your mental health and even physical health is in jeopardy due to your anxiety, it is time to go! No job that is just going to replace you is worth dying for! They will find other employees but your life is irreplaceable!

i quit because the co workers and the environment drained the crap out of me especially the schedule and the amount of work they pile don me..they expected me to get it done..all by myself and the others were cut slack

Totally feel you on this. It's like we're stuck in a cycle of being overworked and underpaid, and every time we try to fix something, it seems like management just makes it worse. Anyone else dealing with this? How are you handling it?

I totally agree with you on the "bigger dreams" part, I am currently working retail and I hate it, but i'm only doing it for now while i'm working on my dream, in the background

The McKinsey consultants in the 90s taught businesses that the best way to make money is to underpay and undertrain employees. A lot of millenials / gen z are figuring this out and going to better jobs

Retail just plain sucks. There is NO good thing to come out of this scenario! I know because I am leaving August 30th. Need my benefits for now. FREEDOM!
