Thank you to everyone for your questions! Please don’t take it personally if I didn’t answer yours. Understand that I'm neither a dermatologist nor an expert on skincare, and I received numerous questions that I did not feel comfortable answering as it’s not my place for me (or anyone for that matter) to answer such individually-directed questions over the Internet regarding the use of a prescription product. What I CAN do, as always, is speak to my experience using tretinoin and topical retinol products for over 16 years; therefore, I addressed the questions about my personal experience and offered suggestions where I felt I could comfortably give my advice. Remember, too, that everyone’s experience using tretinoin and/or retinol will be unique and different, because everyone’s skin is unique and different. The questions I did not answer are those that would be best suited to ask your prescribing physician so that he or she may guide you accordingly along the best possible course of treatment for you depending on your individual skin type, needs & preferences, and goals. I appreciate your understanding.

I love that you care enough to do what people ask like "smile close to the camera ". As if they are trying to get you to "expose" something. Of course skin does that when a person squints or smiles. You can clearly see what your are using works. People are silly and you're a doll. I'm 100% going to try you skin regimen when I'm no longer breastfeeding. ❤️

I have nothing to hide, and as you said, there's nothing either for me to "expose." But if someone wants to see that, then I can take 15 seconds to do it; not a problem (a bit of an odd request albeit lol, but not a problem; and I certainly don't mind at all).

Jennifer Myers thanks so much for getting back to me. I watched a few more of your other videos after I posted this comment. I like that your videos are so full of commonsense and that your recommendations are affordable. I don't think CeraVe is sold in South Africa where I live? I've never heard of it but will definitely look out for it. I've seen Cetaphil cleanser on our shelves but I haven't noticed a moisturiser. They seem to love Olay and L'oreal here which I don't love! Jen Glass Can’t tolerate using it everyday so I use it every other day directly after washing my face. I also wash it off in the morning because my sunscreen piles up and becomes disgusting if my fave isn’t completely clean. On the rare days that I don’t go out and basically spend all my day sleeping in I don’t even bother washing it. Doesn’t irritate my skin.

So even if others don’t swoon at the sight of me I feel more confident and genuinely in love with the skin I have right now. Only thing is it caused a patch of hyperpigmentation around my mouth so I am trying to fade it out.

I've been doing it for 3 weeks now and can say that my skin has looked so much brighter and supple as well as my acid reflux has diminished because the broth preps my stomach in the morning for food throughout the day. Unfortunately I don't have dedicated before pics (although of course I have pictures of me from 7 years ago - not close up zoomed into my lashes, I'm talking about). The reason for that is because when I started my castor oil massage protocol, I had no expectation of it working. I thought I had nothing to lose, because my lashes have always been typical Asian lashes (average in length and not very thick)...I never expected them to grow to how they look now. That being said, keep in mind that it took over 3 months for me to even see a slight difference, and I almost quit (twice lol). Because I thought, "it's not doing anything." Boy was I wrong. Also keep in mind that doing anything for 7 years consistently each night is a long time! All these years of practicing oil massage has nourished the roots and my entire eye area, in fact. I credit it with my smooth eye skin, too, not just my lashes.

Thank you so much Jennifer! You are so beautiful and patient. I have done a bit research about retinoid and saw a statement of a doctor that makes me a bit worried. Can you please answer whether the following statement is true or not: He says that, “if you plaster way too much retinol on in your 20s, 30s, and 40s, you could be depleting all of those healthy cell divisions that you really should be storing for cell divisions further down your lifetime”, because the human skin can only divide a finite number of times. This is such a great video! 🙏 I started my over the counter retinol 2 months ago, and my skin loves it! No peeling or red or discomfort anything, and the results are great! ( my skin was always looking good and smooth, but retinol makes it better by shrinking pores and give a glow to the face) I was already using Elizabeth Arden retinol capsules two years ago except I have no idea what retinol was. I guess that could be the reason why there is no side effects now. I am 26 now and am planning to stick with retinol products for a long time. I am using Murad retinol serum and creams as well as Elizabeth Arden retinol capsules. And I just ordered the Neutrogena one and the honest beauty one, can’t wait to try both! I love the Murad one buts it a little bit pricey.

Hello Shuangzi it's great that you have got such amazing results. But one should be very very careful on taking vitamins(internally as well as topically) which are fat soluble. Even if applied topically, it can higher the levels of vitamin A in the body. You are topically applying it and taking it internally as well. You might develop some serious side effects which you will not be able to relate with the vitamin A you are taking. You can develop hypervitaminosis Or may feel dizziness, nausea , liver damage or even some chronic disease. I am only showing my concerns for you..don't take it otherwise holy soul🙂. Fat soluble vitamins needed to be taken very very carefully. You can google about it and then decide what is good for you. I am a biology student that's why I couldn't stop myself from replying you. Hi Beautiful! I wish I had started earlier, but it wasn't even discussed back then and I was baking in the sun in my 20's. What were we thinking? I've been using Retin A now for 5 years, started at age 47 and I love it. It's the one product I won't be without now, as well as sunscreen!! :)

Holly I too started retin A when I was 40, I will be 42 soon so nearly two years of using it and it transformed my skin completely, I have better skin now then when I was 30. I only started using sunscreen regularly at 40 too but growing up in Northern Europe, fortunately, saved me from damaging my skin too much as there is not that much sun there at all 😉

I use retinol 0.2% with esqualano and it works so well for me 🙂. I use it every day, I had thr harshness and the pimples at first, which really scared me... but now it's OK. I've used the highest SPF my whole life and now that I'm almost 41 people think I'm 28... not kidding. Gene's, yes, but I don't smoke, don't drink and I've cut sugar almost a year ago... 💫

I'm 38 now and have been using tretinoin since 30 I guess, and worked my way up to the strength 0.1%, which has shown in studies not only to reverse the sun damage like the weaker strenghts, but actually protect from further damage, in other words, although your skin becomes more "sensitive" it actually neutralizes the destructive cellular cascade after new sun exposures... My forehead and cheeks accepted well and I only get occasional peeling and sensitivity with this strengh around the mouth and chin. Also I do use tretinoin in the eye area, even in the eye lids, and must say I never had any problem, only benefits. Unfortunately my skin isn't as perfect as yours since I have oily, sensitive and acne prone skin, but I can gladly say that at my age I don't have a single fine line on my face. I live in Brazil and here we are fortunate to be able to buy tretinoin over the counter (it doesn't need a prescription here) and very cheap indeed, even made by trustful pharmaceutical labs like Stiefel, it costs here around 10 dollars a tube of 30g. Cheers. Ps. By the way I love Charlotte Gainsbourg, too. Her Lars von Trier's movies are among my all time favorite ones.

Yoga is a Hindu religious rite with dangerous spiritual implications. I know from experience, because a few years ago, I did a type of yoga that would supposed to decrease aging. What happened is that one night I awoke in sleep paralysis to two spirits, one of which was trying to convince me to have sex with it. I resisted it for what felt like an hour before they gave up and went away. Yoga apparently means "to unite" or "to yoke," so I guess it was no coincidence that this spirit (demon) wanted to have sex with me? (Back then I did not know to invoke the name of Jesus, as I do now.) Go watch "Former Kundalini Yoga Teacher Reveals All (Mike Shreve)" on Steven Bancarz's channel. This stuff is serious, and the Western world has been duped into participating in an occult ritual under the guise of exercise and self-care.

Your natural beauty is inspiring. Speaks volumes to what a good regimen can do . Thank you for the refreshing real content you offer. I started Retin-A.50 4 months ago, using it only once a week. I’ve recently upped it to twice a week but I still have such dry flaky skin. I hydrate around eyes nose and mouth before hand, and make sure my skin is dry etc. should I step down to .25? Or is this the expected time frame it takes to adjust to Retin-A. Thanks in advance for any info you can offer! ❤️
@JenniferMyers
@JenniferMyers 4 жыл бұрын
If the flakiness is unbearable, then yes you can step down...but I personally stuck with it so my skin could get acclimated. Peeling is the mechanism by which Retin-A works, so it's something that comes with the territory, so to speak. The trade off is a beautiful complexion, so you really have to determine whether it's worth "suffering" for. For me it was!

I LOVE seaweed, however I can only eat a very small amount because more than that and my body has an inflammatory-like reaction. My bowels feel aggravated and my skin becomes sensitized with a few itchy rashes. I think it might be the carrageenan in the seaweed, or the iodine. Such a shame though because it contains minerals, vitamins and nutrients. It also makes for a great snack. If interested in seaweed, look for Kaiso salad mix. It’s a Japanese mixture of dried seaweeds, some of them are actually very pretty looking. You rehydrate them with water. The woman at my Japanese specialty store told me to dress it with a sesame dressing and it is delicious that way.

She looks 37 and 37 is young.. If you look old at 37 years old then that’s bad genetics and/or bad health. people who are 27 look a lot younger than her . When she smiled to show her skin elasticity, she revealed that she has deep forehead wrinkles and major crows feet(only when she exaggerated her facial movements)which a 27 year old would not normally have even if they don’t take care of their skin. Especially when a woman has no children, they always looks so much younger than their age compared to a woman with children

I'm very laid back about it as I'm so accustomed to using this product after so many years, I can comfortably discontinue and resume my treatment as I please (which is one of the things I love the most about topical anti-aging; I'm in complete control). When the winter ends and the season shifts into early-mid Spring, I will start tapering down my application to 1-2x per week, tops, and thereafter I will start using a product such as Differin (once per week) or Neutrogena over the counter retinol SA, just to keep my skin balanced and free from breakouts. Sunscreen remains a must, daily, year round! That never changes, ever!

Hi! I just discovered your channel while I was researching about castor oil. I did used to apply castor oil on my lashes and brows since both are sparse borderline nonexistent lol. Since it was difficult for me to study (I was a 3rd yr medical student at that time) while having the castor oil on my lashes and unintentionally on my eyes, I eventually stopped applying it. I'd like to give it another go one of these days. Also, I have been so interested in incorporating Vit. A in my skincare routine but I get so intimidated by some of the effects it might have on my skin (such as dryness, purging). Do you have any advices for a beginner in topical retinol/retinoid products? By the way, I love your personality and your calm energy. I aspire to have such a calm and poised demeanor with such beautiful skin and lashes as you do. And I just learned that you tested positive for COVID. I hope you're well right now and healthy despite contracting the virus in the past.
