Whao! Sucheta, you hit the nail on the head. Its all a question of awareness which is very very poor in India. Like how Mr. Subramaniam Swamy says, every home should have a lawyer. Having worked in the BFSI industry for over 30 years I am not even aware of such a Law called Public Liabiity Claim. I shall surely spread this message across groups. No wonder our Great Politicians want our citizens to be educated. Nobody likes questions right? Yesterday, the Metro Rail accident at Bangalore which happened, the compensation offered for the mother and child who lost their lives was a paltry Rs. 20.00 lacs. Can you please highlight what is the Public Liability in monetary terms for the Metro Rail Construction Company. It would come in very handy for the deceased.

If PLI has to be there, why does IRCTC give the option to passenger to opt for 32 paisa insurance while booking railway ticket? Shouldn't it be already included in the ticket and us not having to opt for it?

Therefore in India, it won't be applicable to those accidents or instances referred to in the Video. However, thanks for drawing our attention to the existence of this Act in INDIA.
