Hi, i'm millie!
I am autistic and ADHD, and I'm trying to leave the world in slightly better shape than when I found it. I am working towards this goal by focusing my life energy and experience as disabled and neurodivergent into disability advocacy work.
If you like what I am doing and would like to support me to be able to continue doing it then any contribution, however small will help make that happen, and you will help me get closer to my dream of a society that is more accepting and appreciative of neurodivergent people and people with disabilities.
Thank you.

i laughed when you are explaining nonbinary as computer programming. ie: nonbinary as analogue gender. so accurate

My experience is very similar to yours. We are nearly the same age as well. I was assigned male at birth. I don't really know how to categorize myself, but I have settled on nonbinary. I still basically present as male for the most part, but I haven't worn men's clothing in years. I am very feminine in many aspects of my life, but masculine in some others. I consider myself primarily female, but I have no desire to change my body or officially transition, mostly due to my size. I could have every surgery on Earth, and I still wouldn't pass for a genetic female. I try to be masculine enough to keep people guessing. It makes me unhappy, but I am not financially independent due to Autism and three autoimmune disorders, so I cannot risk ruining my relationship with my family. I hope to one day be able to live in a way that makes me happy.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it sounds like you know yourself very well, which is already part of the hard part. You illustrated a lot of what makes it so complicated. Having so many autoimmune disorders must make life very difficult. Autistic people so often are dealing with multiple medical issues as well as the societal oppression and that does make it hard to have enough money. I'm very privileged to have lived in a place where surgery and other care is covered. Everyone should be able to have access to that care if they need it and are ready for it without having to worry about money! I hope you can get to the place where you are comfortable with how you are whatever that looks like for you. 🙂

I think being non binary is due in some degree to our own issues with PDA. Having to fit within a certain binary places demands on us, and we naturally rebel against them. I always say that we are the chosen people. We possess a natural inclination to question the things in our environment, rather than simply doing what we are taught to do. In a way, it gives us the freedom to be ourselves. If I want to wear a mini skirt today, then I can. If I wanted to wear jeans and boots tomorrow (ugh), then I theoretically could. It is quite liberating, in my opinion.

oh my gosh yes that's very insightful, thanks! That does make sense in the context of PDA. More and more i'm realizing how much PDA affects every aspect of how my life ended up.
