It can be very frustrating, expensive and overcrowded with millions of tourists but also very invigorating and beautiful in the best areas. There are many European cites more beautiful in the central areas but in the end London truly is the greatest city on earth.

You're from Kensington and Chelsea. Code for being stinkingly rich and privileged. The average Londoner does not grow up or live in the same stratosphere as yourself. Life is tough and getting tough for the average to lower earning Londoners. We're being squeezed out and many are okay with this due to the daily stress levels many endure economically... quality of life is getting lower and lower.

Lived here for half my life now and I was too blind to see all the great things it has probably because I don't really go out much. It's quite expensive but there are opportunities here that we can utilize to learn, earn and live well as long as we are willing. I am a part of the street dance community of London and it's the best in the world in terms of vibes and creativity. It is so diverse and everyone is really creative compared to many other dance communities where it's all about winning a competition. Here, it's more about respect and good vibes. I studied at Greenwich University and although it's ranked quite low in the rankings, I never got tired of it and their new library is absolutely amazing. Because of this video, I am seeing London in a new light.

i’ve lived here all my life and i can’t agree more. granted it has its issues and can often be unequal, crime-filled, and rainy, however all of what you mentioned trumps that to a ridiculous level. this is reflected in the fact that London has one of the highest human development scores in the world with an HDI of 0.971 as of 2018 (1.000 is the best possible). quick aside you got one of the tube facts wrong. the city & south london railway didn’t open in 1863 it opened in 1890. however what did open in 1863 was the metropolitan railway which is also now a part of the underground but it just opened as a steam train (giving you an idea of how ridiculously old it is)

London destroys New York lets be real here. Far more history & culture, cleaner city, has better music venues & more festivals, better job opportunities, cheaper housing (although still expensive obviously), better infrastructure, much better walkability and London’s transportation system simply blows New York’s out the water.

Nearly 70 nowadays, not born or bred in London but lived in this truly amazing city most of my life. I was born on 90 miles away and my grandfather used to bring me to London late 60s/70s and I feel in love with it. Great video glad all photos or shots are of this great city. Things have changed of course and this video points London as utopia which it certainly is not but it’s a good city. We have many things wrong which need to be mentioned 1) crime is high in London especially petty crime not mass killings 2) cleanliness- the city itself can be dirty but compared to many cities it’s actually not too bad but still needs addressing 3) weather- can be very grey in London many a day during the year. Summers can be very humid with virtually no air condition. 4) transportation- very old, extensive but needs new lines. It’s not easy going from east to west outer London. All major transport including roads head towards inner London There are more negatives but to be honest the positives outstrip the negatives. London in my eyes is still dynamic, diverse, fast, historic, interesting, theatrical, music, foods, markets, bustling streets, sporting venues like no other and year round events, in other words it has something for everyone. London right now is struggling yet in its history it has high n lows yet remains a world city in it own right.

London is a fantastic city, and I did live there for a time, but I have now moved to another part of the UK. Obenof the reasons being just how expensive the rents are, you get absolutely nothing for your money, even in the poorest parts of the city unless you are in council/ social housing. Also, the wealth and clasa divide in London is sickening, and it is no coincidence that the wealthier the neighbourhood, the less welcoming and friendly it is. Try fitting in in places like Chelsea, Mayfair or Knightsbridge if you dont have money or a high social class.

I'm a Londoner through and through - from Islington and Tower Hamlets. I'm now in my early 50s and whilst I wouldn't have wanted to live anywhere else in the world up until I was 45, it's now just too busy a city for me, I moved out for a life more bucolic. A really informative video and well done !! Being a Brit I may be biased, but when I see the chaos and desperation in other parts of the world, I feel fortunate and blessed living in a country that most (of course not all) respect, despite its drama and skulduggery filled politics and its divisions, its a place anyone from anywhere could call home. All are welcome regardless of ethnicity, religion or sexual identity. Granted our weather can suck sometimes, but that's an advantage too. If you're a stranger visiting London or UK generally, talk to anyone about the weather, and you'll be off to a great start.
