Who wants to be a cop nowadays? Not, I, for sure. They do not get paid enough to deal with all the loonies and cop killers out there. Nay nay. I hope they all quit nationwide so, ppl can fend for themselfs.

Post COVID or post George Floyd?

It's not the money, it's not the overtime, it's because state, county, and city bureaucrats are beholden to their political party's agenda and won't let officers enforce the law against criminals because going light on criminals is very important to their voter base. Then, light punishments are given to the few criminals who actually are prosecuted. It's completely pointless to risk it all in law enforcement when your government officials won't let you do your job.

Really, we sound so surpised, I am a veteran of 20 yrs. Why would you want to join, the job now sucks. It's not about poor pay it's about poor leadership and command staff. Internal affairs have a mind set to jail you and everyone hates you.

Running out of psycho applicants?

You make them do things they are not meant to do. The police were meant to stop murders and protect property. Whenever you make them go after money and drugs it corrupts departments.

It's hard to trust no accountability for sin

Police need better pay, insurance and training. They shouldn't have to do it all though. We need agencies like social services to help with mental care and Universal Healthcare would be an enormous benefit. Get people with mental health problems and general health problems for that matter get the help and care they need. Violence numbers will decline, I'm sure of it.

Its because of the work environment

No one wants to be down with mistreatment of the public for a job is why people don’t want to work for the government!!!

Will to be fair the moment I first saw was police brutality was that when I was hella discouraged to be a police officer and now seeing I would never want to be a cop I respect the police enforcement trying to keep the community safe but sametime I disrespect the other police enforcement that use brutal force to community which for sure makes the police environment very bad to point where I could see why nobody want to be cops I was thinking of being one when I was the age of 8 years old then I watched a video of a kids arm getting broken over by a police officer and that when I was like nope I shouldn’t even be in this type of system feel corrupt other then that also what discourage people to be part of it is cause lot of people now days they look at cops like they aren’t safe at time in the community cause of proganda and with bunch of police brutality the community start hating officer and as other people who want to be cops be very discouraged to be a cop when people hate cops in general over cause one cop did a police brutality over social media I feel like cops should alway be held accountable with cops who do those thing especially since it making them look bad end of the day being part force and also discouraging other folks who want to be cops if anything I decide to choose a different profession cause of social media making cop look very bad but there should be a lotta regulations within the police department since again crime has been skyrocketing and simply put that social media has been targeting cops very badly over police brutality and then wonder how people are safe with cops and then also how do I wanna be a cop if people think I’m danger in society and that how I feel like is this a good respected environment or not infact my parent wouldn’t even be part of system simply cause people really don’t like the force in general but it isn’t bad start folks who want to serve in the ems I believe that cops should always be held accountable when they actually in danger the community or hurt one another so then society know aye these cops aren’t really trying to be corrupt and it should look better and then prison they should teach people how to improve instead just caging them up and beating each other inside a jail cell
