And you are absolutely right, that luxury industry is much larger than just fashion, we must not forget luxury automobiles, haute cuisine, etc. What brand would you compare Apple with?

@@StolbovaBrand When it comes to automobile and tech industry, most companies that tend to preserve themselves as "Luxury" usually have an "accessible " lineup while having at the same time flagship products, to keep their status. Apple is the only one in its industry to sell an accessory that cost 800$ for a set of wheels that attaches in the computer's stand. I don't agree to what you said fhat Apple doesn't have a myth story of their own because they literally embrace and milk their own historing by storytelling the obsession of Steve Jobs to "Think Different" for years. They even made a building called " Steve Jobs theater" to keep the the storytelling every year that they hold an event. I agree with many of your points that they may not be as worthy as a luxury compare to Hermés or any other desginer brands but they sure have embraced some of the mentality while trying to keep a different take to stay relevant to the masses without ruining their reputation.

The main thing modern tech companies lack is the foundation to build a luxury brand upon - this foundation consists of a brand myth and brand heritage. They always try to be "better, faster, stronger", but don't usually pay attention to the ideological depth luxury brands have. What do you think? And they outsource perfume and cosmetics to other companies, making crazy margins. As for Apple, they certainly have an element of luxury in their marketing tactics, and they also have the potential to reposition as a luxury brand.
