For the last 17 years, Gaza has been subjected to random food bans and limited trade with the rest of the world, imposed by Israel. While Israel has its reasons for this blockade, let's see how they may have done more harm than good for this ongoing conflict.

Thanks for an actual mature response to such an important topic. This was better than any mainstream news I have overheard and thus unironically very high-quality journalism.

Over half of the population in Gaza is children. It’s a vulnerable population. To say it’s hamas is incorrect

The dude is falling for the trick too easily. The war is supposed to be against Hamas, So far more than 4,000 women & 3,000 children have died.

I think you kept this very neutral overall and is interesting hearing what native dishes are in Gaza and even that is being controlled.

Contrary to the other people that commented, I don't have issue if you bring the politic issues in your videos if it help understanding more the situation. However, even if you try to be neutral, there will always people who will disagree, so prepare to be criticize.

Woah…WOAH…man, to say this was an unexpected change of pace would be a gross understatement. Never would I have foreseen this channel to tread politically-sensitive topics, never. Alas, it is what it is…as long this channel doesn’t go into the direction of Johnny Harris, I’m perfectly content with this channel.

i thought you did a very good job showing both the immediate and chronic danger palestine is in in a way that wouldn't alienate those that believe israels claims that its "retaliation" is justified. hamas is not greatly affected by the blockades, and the israeli blockade is doing nothing but harming the innocent individuals and their collective culture (and our global culture as well). i hope the negative comments or people telling you to stay away from politics wont discourage you. in our world, food *is* politics, and showing its massive power potential was a very on brand and important message to share

Highlighting Israeli fears (which is to an extent, fair) but not further describing the atrocities they’ve done to the Palestinian people beyond just blockades which included violence and killing more than 10,000 civilians(including children and babies) just this past few weeks. You could’ve done way better on this video Matthew. Definitely not one your better works. It takes alot of work to uncover this complex situation even if it’s just highlighting the food but this video fell short on its facts and it was as if you only went through BBC articles as research. The video was grossly oversimplified.

I enjoyed your prospective, also your video was well produced. I know very little about this particular aspect of Gazan life, so it was enlightening to see and hear. I think Hamas has caused a lot of issues for the Palestinians who just want to live and prosper like any other nation. Hamas seems to care very little about the welfare of it's citizens, but only to strengthen itself.

I feel this videos neutral tone really hampers its effectiveness, you speak about Israels total control of Palestine as if its *just a thing that happened* but its not, the entirety of Israel is a colony, a colonial project to take the entire area, the destruction of land and life is intensional so that they can control the whole area. It has been stated as such since its invention, if you take time to look into the people who started the movement of zionism it is Clear. the way you portray this as a back and forth between *Hamas* and Israel is a misrepresentation, all actions from hamas said as *terrorism* and all israeli attacks as just a government *retaliating* these word choices in the face of the GIANT disparity in human beings and Children killed by groups shows how ingrained *governments good, people fighting back bad* is, Israeli has been murdering Palestinian citizens for OVER 75 years but they can get away with it because they hold all the governmental power. We must keep in mind Who it is that gets to define terrorism. obviously No dying would be better but to imply all this death is at the fault of Palestinians fighting back against their murder is to focus on exactly what Israel wants you too, while they treat Palestinian lives as a just animals to the slaughter. i did appreciate you using some sources from aljazeera, generally you should try to look at a situation like this, where even if you just Look at a map you can clearly see who is the oppressed and who is the oppressor from the oppressed side, from the citizens, while if you look at Israeli citizens from around this videos release you find them joyfully blockading food from starving Palestinians and Dancing in the way of aid trucks. *unbiased journalism* will always become a tool for the oppressor because by refusing to stand up for the oppressed you are standing there *neutrally* while they get killed. i hope in the past five months you've taken a stronger stand, we must as human beings try to stand together, our oppression is interconnected. i do really like your videos in general, and i hope you listen to my intent, i hope your day is kind to you.

Didn’t expect this channel to release a video that would be mostly focused on politics, granted I know your videos tend to focus on foods and the history around them. Hopefully not a trend, war is brutal and so is the current state of the world. If we’re talking about this one I can only expect we’ll talk about how it’s affecting every man-made global conflict. I’m not a fan of

Palastine does not own palastine . The Jewish people are sole owners of palastine.Israel owns all land from the 12 tribes of Israel. That's why Israel's name is so powerful . When you are told to get out of the way of war you get out so you don't get killed.

the war was predictable and if you keep going to live there despite of all protentional dengers you have to be responsible for all risks about your life. I am from Ukraine (the city not far from russia border) do not shame me for my brutally opinion I know what the war means on practice

The fact that you are from Ukraine and you don't see the irony of your tone deaf comment is extremely sad. You are blaming Gazans for living in their homeland and suggesting that they should vacate because of all the dangers. How would you feel if someone asks Ukraine to cede whatever territory is under Russian control now to put an end to war? Shame on you.

@@YuruCampSupermacyThe fact that you presume that someone with possibly a greater understanding of a conflict likely decades older than you is ghadtly. Ghastly but but not unpredictable. PLO and Hamas propaganda works on he ignorant. They count on it.
@Tax_Collector01
@Tax_Collector01 7 ай бұрын
@@YuruCampSupermacy The sole reason why all of this was fully expected was because of October 7th, solely because of what Hamas did to Israeli civilians with the utmost clear intentions of genocide…both can be conclusively confirmed from the actions of insurgents on the ground and officials of Hamas proclaiming their intentions with Israel. Israel’s response to this then, is COMPLETELY and utterly justified. Now think of this, what do you think would’ve happened if Hamas didn’t deliberately target civilians? How much more objectively one-sided this situation would be if Hamas conducted a proper war against Israel?

Lol, I like your videos but if you’re looking to grow a food channel better steer clear from politically sensitive topics
@offthemenuyt
@offthemenuyt 7 ай бұрын
Thanks, but I don’t want to pretend that food isn’t often a politically sensitive topic. I didn’t start this channel just to have fun with food. Food has brought pleasure and misery, and to not acknowledge both is unfair I think. I’ll continue to talk about both happy and sensitive topics because it’s what I’m interested in and I started this channel with these kinds of videos in mind. Food is a shadow of who we are and what we’ve done/are doing. I know it might make people uncomfortable and may deter others, but I want to show food in all its forms. In this case, I see food being used as a weapon. Sorry, I’m driven by my interest in political stuff like this. It would be a lie to myself and people who, I’m lucky to have, watch my videos if I ignored these topics and always stay on happy topics. I want to be my real self on here and this is me. Thanks for the comment, and sorry for the long reply. I just wanna make it clear that I’ll continue to talk about sensitive topics and I’ll keep on trying to make them the best I can. If I can’t grow my channel that way, then it is what it is.
