Dear Father Dave, Thank you for making our Catholic religion more understandable in layman's terms. I get more out of your Homilies and youtube teachings, than I do from my own church and priest. The next time I visit Jersey I must look you up. You are delightful! God bless and keep you always.

Thank you Fr.Dave for this video on “why it’s good to go to confession”. You help to remove the fear and dread of it and make going seem more inviting. It’s has been the priests like you, and the nuns and deacons who speak with love in their hearts who have drawn me to confession and the mass and help keep my love of God and my Savior alive in my own heart.

Thanks father Dave. I lost my faith a while back, for a long, long time. I've been feeling something pulling me back for a while and slowly dipping my toes in, you've been a big part of that too. I don't know if I'm ready to go back to church in person, or ever will, but I do watch your Sunday Mass and participate through that. Also, Skol Vikes.

I really enjoy Mass with Father Dave. You're down to earth and add humor in your sermons, which in todays world is appreciated. I love your dog, Cragley. I had a black lab for 14 years (best dog I ever had) and I drive a Subaru.

Thank you Father Dave, my thoughts and prayers go out to your brother Tim. I haven’t been to confession for a long time. I didn’t think I was a sinner until I heard that partial list of sins you referenced to the women at confession who had not sinned. It is clear to me that a need a refresher on what is a sin - I am clear on the mortal sins but, not sure of others. God help me! Be well

Well hello. I'm glad you brought this up. The priest at my church doesn't like hearing confession, so needless to say, I never feel comfort after confession. I always get the same penance and I have asked for my, 'can't keep Sunday Holy' because of my job attitude forgiveness, but geesh, no comfort. But listening to you now. I'm going to confession tomorrow and going to look at things differently. Prayers continued for the priests and Pope and, of course, your brother Tim. I can't imagine owing that much to any credit card company and God Bless those who do. May they find some peace.

Here from AZ. 9:00 - 9:20 ish. EXACTLY how I feel and I feel terrible all the time. Even after confession. I know I am flawed but I pray, please pray for me, I hope God forgives me for all the cuts and bruises I put on Jesus. I dread the day I am in front of my master and have to admit.

Thank you for reminding of some things I need cleared next time I go to confession or talk to a priest! I also went to confession, Mass and received Holy Communion, prayed for our Pope's intentions and went to the cemetery to pray for plenary indulgence for my loved one. Then I prayed the short prayer for partial indulgence for her and those in the cemetery in case the first one didn't take. It also said one can say the short prayer when passing by a cemetery for the souls in purgatory for partial indulgence for them. I hope at least one took, if not both. But now from what you explained, I'm not sure.😔

Hello Fr Dave thank you for your prayers for the dead. 😢 your explanation of why we need to go to confession is simple because God does not make things difficult for us but gives us opportunity to change and be better in our lives. We pray and thank God for all priests and the work they do for all people. You Fr Dave are an amazing and wonderful priest and thank you for your every day words to help us in our growing journey of faith. God bless you always. 🙏🏻🇿🇦😎zita

I always remember that you said you loved going to confession.... Funny, I always hated it, but then I went to you for confession.... and I left understanding. What a blessing to be forgiven and also I have learned the bigger miracle of forgiveness. I try to forgive EVERYONE.... not always easy, but how uplifting it is to my soul when I do! Thank you for being you, Father Dave! We are BLESSED to have you in our world !

What is a plenary indulgance?
@d.capurro61128 ай бұрын
What is a Plenary Indulgence? A Plenary Indulgence is a way to obtain remission of punishment that results from sins that are already forgiven. This includes mortal or venial sins that the recipient has committed to date. The recipient must sincerely repent and detest the sins, and then fulfill all indulgence requirements.

Father Dave, I have a question. I have two bad knees, bone on bone knees with arthritis. If I kneel, I can't get up. In the confessional I have to kneel. Now what can I do??

standing is fine. bringing a stool is fine, or sitting on a chair on the other side of the screen is also completely fine

I never go to confession anymore . I find it very depressing . I had my son out of wedlock and boy did I hear so many bad things from everyone … including the priest . but yet women walking down the wedding aisle are not condemned. I pray to God but he never ever helps me. I am struggling financially and I lost 3 jobs in 13 months. Nobody helps me. Nobody loves me and that includes God . I am tired of not being appreciated and getting a chance for a job interview
@trishdecresce39528 ай бұрын
Do you have a Bible? Go ask a church to give you one. Start small. Just read 1 paragraph on any page, I prefer Proverbs and get on with your day. When depressed, say the Hail Mary. It's not going to change anything immediately but it will seep inside your soul slowly and you will find the direction you need to be in. Yes. You are feeling forgotten and mad and afraid. It's ok. The fact you've vented on this site, trust me, God brought you here.
