*JOURNEY ACROSS JAPAN CONTINUES!* - BUT who made the best commercial?! Joey or myself. Let us know below. We begin our journey through Akita, an incredible place with a big problem. In just a few decades, half of its entire population will have gone. Dogs, chickens and demons, our lengthy drive takes us across the whole region to discover what makes Akita such a legendary place to explore.

Not gonna lie, the final cut of that commercial for Akita makes me think that Chris and the editing team could absolutely pull off making an analog horror series. Some parts of the commercial were uncanny in capturing that sort of off-kilter, VHS-era style you see in those sorts of series.

@@lainiwakura1776 Kids? What, are you gonna tell me to get off your lawn next? Hell, I could very well be older than you, lol. Regardless, I never actually said anything in the commercial was actually _scary,_ just that the way it was edited did a good job of evoking the same sort of offbeat, vaguely phantasmagorical style you might find in an analog horror series, particularly the ones that use old TV programs like you'd see on public access TV for their world building. I figured I'd elaborate here since you could very well have misunderstood what I meant when I said parts were uncanny (even though you then used the word correctly in youe reply). Then again, it's just as likely that you just really wanted to get a good, old-fashioned "kids these days!" off your chest and decided my comment was a suitable candidate to direct your whinging. 😌

Thank you for visiting my hometown Odate City. Akita Prefecture has always been an introverted prefecture, not very good at doing business or advertising and unable to fully convey its charms to people, but it is well worth a visit for its delicious food (Kiritanpo, Hinai Jidori chicken, butter rice cakes, etc.) and inspiring scenery. Akita people are shy, but if you treat them in a friendly manner, they will do their best to accommodate you. Please come to Akita, especially to the northern part of the prefecture, for sightseeing.

2 things lol: 1. The last two episodes DEFINITELY shows that Joey gets the best treatment in ALL of these trips 😂😂😂. And- 2. This, imo, is probably one of the top 3 funniest videos and content-richest videos you and your team have done. Despite struggling to find your 6 things in Akita to show off, I feel like you all really did a great job showing its character and its beauty. Then at the end, i kid you not, the ads you all made were BRILLIANT. They were so funny but also feels like guys did your homework perfectly. This was an amazing episode imo. Also I feel like you and Joey bounce off each other superbly and really ignite each others' creativity. You guys really produce great stuff, along with connor. The Trash Taste special with the drifting is an excellent example of joey and connor vibing superbly with your comedy and I tbh wish I could see the three of you together more on your (Chris's) channels more often.

I went to Akita for my first ever trip to Japan last year and I loved it! I went around the springtime, which was a bit nicer than in the wintertime but it was still a little bit chilly. We ended up seeing the Kakunodate Samurai Village as well as visiting the Seitai Hoshikai where the apparitions of Our Lady of Akita happened. I even had kiritanpo for the first time (and I'm still kicking myself over not buying any of the premade rice rolls I saw before I left, I want to make hotpot with some). In one of the travel guides I picked up from my hotel, I saw that there's even a place that sells Akita dog sable cookies that looked so cute, but I'm not sure where they're made (I want some though!). Anyway, I wanna go back so bad! It was super pretty during the spring despite the chill and I'd love to go and explore the city of Akita more... I got some old school 80s vibes while I was there but it also felt kind of empty (not sure if that was just because I was walking around the city during the super early morning and way way late at night to go to the konbini, but there was like no one out on the streets). Absolutely would go back in a heartbeat and, thanks to you guys, I have some new places to scope out... and I especially need to try that chicken, ugh, that looks so incredibly tasty.

I have lived in Michigan my whole life and never knew we had the world's largest wooden dome. I had to look it up. The Superior Dome located in Marquette, Michigan was built in 1991.

When I think of tourist places in Akita, I think of Kakunodate. It's gorgeous (and super crowded) during sakura. There is also Tazawako. And insane amounts of onsen. It won't be appealing in Winter but in Season Sashimaki Moor is really nice to walk around. I've been to Osarizawa Mine in Kazuno as well. But honestly, while I love Tohoku, there are a lot of places I wouldn't visit outside of April to October, because they are just cold and dead in the Winter.

Ohhhh that's the place! I was sure I'd been to a beautiful place in Akita prefecture, but couldn't remember the name. The samurai district and especially the view of the town from the old Kakunodate castle grounds atop a small mountain at the end of the district were gorgeous! Might have been a bit far to film during just one day, coming down from Aomori.

To be fair to Chris, he had to make an Ampanman Challenge on-the-fly commercial about where they were on that day, he wasnt actually setting out to make a stand alone "Where to go in Akita" tourism guide.

NO!! When we lived in Japan (Amori Prefecture), we used to go skiing at Owani all the time and go to the spa that you visited in this video. This is heartbreaking.
