Why do less experienced colleagues get promoted faster than you? That is the topic I delve into in this video. You see, seniority doesn't always guarantee you a promotion. In many cases, coworkers who have less experience than you, get promoted ahead of you.
You might put in more hours, work harder and produce more results. Meanwhile, you still see coworkers who put in MUCH less effort than you get recognised and promoted. This no doubt makes you frustrated, envious and confused about what you're doing wrong.
So in today's video, I reveal four reasons as to why your less experienced colleagues are getting promoted instead of you. It is my hope that you will make the necessary shifts in your work day so that you can be the one who starts to get recognised instead.

Loyalty never pays off. I was never promoted in my career, I just changed companies and here I am as head of department with high salary.

I did everything you discussed, top performer, innovator, bringing new ideas and more, became noticeable by upper management, however my coworkers were too jealous and started to create situations behind my back, spreading rumors and blaming me for many things. I left, my work days became terrible ...

It seemed like you out-shined a master. Probably one of the higher management was concerned that you might take their place one day. Based on your capability, employees backstabbing or sabotaging you has little effect since you can 100% counter it or defend yourself. And any half-wit manager can understand what's going on. Anyway move on, learn and be proud of yourself.

Since it's all about results, usually experienced people are more likely to produce the right results. Maybe change the topic to 'Produce results and get promoted'. That'll make it less discriminating and demoralising for talented people who have alot of experience.

In some cases, even following all of these tips doesn't guarantee promotions for less experienced employees...it really boils down to a company's hiring policy and the HR practices prevalent over there. Have myself witnessed scenarios where young talents, despite contributing innovative and/or positively disruptive ideas that led to significant impacts for the organisation (and these were ideas which many of the senior co-workers could never even think of, in spite of having many years of experience), didn't get promoted or weren't provided with further advancement or career development opportunities at that company, simply because the HR team completely lacked any initiative in this regard. So it really depends on the company's culture and hiring practices too, honestly.
