Huge shout out for kaiti_rae22 for that question. The anwsers confirmed what I was thinking all along, and which is also the reason why watch Critical Role in the first place. It's not because it is interesting to see professional voice actors play an improv based game, it is because they are a group of friends who all happened to have the same job and that vibe still permeates the table like no other group. And it reminds me so much of my own TTRPG group in my teens, only with people who are a lot better in staying in character. And that is so much fun to watch.
