There's more to even talk about but carnivore has been an absolute life saver. And anyone thinking i eliminated junk food and thats why should know i had already eliminated that from my diet 3 years prior and was still getting worse on a whole foods organic diet with fruits and vegetables. Once the plants were gone and the intake of meat increased EVERYTHING got better and fast.

Animal based diet completely got rid of my long term auto immune disease (chron’s). I didnt consume dairy before or during the diet. However when I introduced raw dairy I felt even better, and got none of the bad symptoms. Raw dairy is completely different than pasteurized. For Mikhailia, I imagine that may not matter still. I have big respect for the lion diet.

Interesting interview Thomas. I've been on carnivore for the past 151 days - previous Keto for a couple years. Decided to do a 30 day challenge to see wtf, by the 6th day I was sold. More energy, better sleep, no more gas - like fckin none! No more urges to go, no more stomach bubbles. Joint pain went way and lost the under eye bags. I dropped 20lbs and got leaner more defined. As for the studies saying good/bad whatever, I just know how I feel which is fckin amazing and all I did was drop the fruit and veg. I'll continue until / if something negative occurs but for now I'm staying the course. As for all the haters, you do you. Don't knock it until you try it. I don't bash on vegans or vegetarians or weed smokers because I've never tried it so I won't talk shit like I know. I appreciate you interviewing ppl even if it ain't something you follow - that makes good content.

It is interesting that we feel a little bit of panic when we hear that somebody isn't eating a varied diet. And then you look up the Hadza people (One of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa). They literally eat five things. They eat meats, honey, a single species of wild potato, berries, and the baobab fruit. Five things. Scientists have studied them, they have zero autoimmune conditions, zero modern diseases including zero heart disease, and they have found that they have the most diverse microbiome on the planet! 5 Things

Hello, I'm a 50 year old perimenipause woman who's in remission from chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was on a weekly biologic injectible medication "Enbrel," with other prescriptions like Celebrex, Methotrexate, Tramadol & Prednisone at times that made my immune system sick and my body obese & weak starting at the age of 27. I started eating a ketogenic lifestyle in September 2019, and I'm mainly carnivore "Ketovore" now. This way of eating is the only thing that has helped my weight loss of 60 lbs, severe pain, inflammation, and other metobolic health conditions. Also, I started implementing lifting heavy weights, strength training & balance exercises 4 times a week last April. It has been a new life for me! You can seek your true health every day, starting with what you eat/drink & don't eat/drink. Peace & Health, Christine Peters

Good on you Mikhaila. Proud of you for staying strong and sticking to what your body was telling you what is good for you. I can relate to the struggle of feeling isolated with a strict diet when everyone seems to roll their eyes at what I am doing. I figured out it was their insecurity of eating crap foods and not willing to change. They say we are missing out on hyper palatable foods and a "balanced" diet, but what they don't experience is what it feels like to truly feel healthy and vibrant. THAT is what is addictive to me. Raising my baseline for health and mental clarity. Thank you for the inspiration to choose whats right and not giving in to our food addictions. ❤️🙏🏾

@@Vinny-no9bd I disagree wholeheartedly. I never advocate for anyone to be forced to not have certain foods and believe in free will. I only talk about it to anyone that is curious or I am just truthful when they offer me food and ask why I won't eat it. I just tell them I only eat meat. Nor do I put a "diet" label in it as its a healthy lifestyle and is helping me. The insecurity is real from them as they know they eat a lot of stuff that they rather wouldn't if they knew they had the mindset and will to commit to a healthier way of eating. Its almost like talking politics or religion and people get super defensive. But it is not my problem. If they ask I bluntly tell the truth. Its the same when they comment on how fit I am and tell me they wish they were like me(which I am humble about) and I sincerely offer for them to join me in the gym where I have truly put in the work to manifest my vision of who I strive to be. They then tell me that they couldn't be that dedicated. This is the problem with society and the U.S. in general, people are lazy and seek comfort instead of truly putting in the work.

@@Vinny-no9bd Oh yeah and one more thing. I stay away from the tribal and dogmatic people. So I agree with you in this sense. I came across a dogmatic "Carnivore" dude a couple months ago that was dead set that everyone should eat this way. He just talked over me and I just laughed in my head at him that he has no clue I have been studying nutrition for over 15 years. The truth is that we all have so much to learn about the human body and might never really figure it out. Your problem was probably Oxalate dumping which can produce the same results. Variety is the answer for people like you, as many different ways to cook and prepare meats as possible. I use sirloin for stews with tallow or bacon grease and will sometimes put in a butternut squash or blackeyed peas (per Sally Norton) to aid in Oxalate dumping. If you had just continued the meat along with your soup I think you would have been ok.

We eat in a very different manner than our ancestors. Mine were farmers and shop keepers. Wives prepared the food and the farmer came in from a long day in the field or in the cold feeding animals. They were hungry and just ate what was there. No specialty food. Little seasoning. Simply food. They were too hungry to be picky. They grew their own crops and vegetables and raised chickens and beef etc. Not much eating out or ordering in. We place so much emphasis on the balanced meal. Changing it up so there are no repeat meals. People get used to this and it’s hard to prepare and eat a simple meal. The emphases used to be on just sustenance!

Ice cream is hard to pass up but I’m trying.

@MadisonPage-je5jp I cook at home mainly. My son has temporarily moved home and he has two pre teens so cooking has changed in my house. I have to wean them away from frozen premade meals and carbs. I’m trying to simplify. They aren’t picky eaters, they just got used to different food than I prepare. Whenever I want a time out from cooking and we go out or eat frozen foods, I find that nothing tastes as good as mine and leaves me feeling unwell.

@MadisonPage-je5jp It really is best to cook at home. When we first moved into this neighbourhood it was new. I got to know my neighbours, who were younger than I was and I was amazed at how many young people did not know how to cook! The upsetting part was that they were convinced that if they tried they would cause food poisoning. So they ordered out at a great expense or bought frozen foods that they could not afford. So I taught them the basics to prevent food poisoning. Then the women were afraid that their husbands wouldn’t eat the food they cooked! I went to their homes and helped them make a meal. Their families ate it with no objection, much to their surprise! Maybe having been born on a farm has its moments for learning food processing that is in the home not the factory.

The meat elimination diet was pretty good for me as well: Cleared up my back pain, no more acid reflux that made it painful and impossible to sleep, I stopped waking up with a sore throat (either from snoring or acid reflux while I was sleeping, I don't know), less tired overall and easier to focus; and lost a bit of weight. Course re-introducing food hasn't gone as smoothly as it's become easier to notice that I indeed have low level allergies to a lot of stuff, stuff that I'd just brush off or didn't pay attention to before hand; but being healthier it's way easier to notice when energy levels dip or the throat becomes scratchy, or the stomach tightening up a bit.

I started keto 6 yrs ago today (I just realized today is the exact day!). Anyway, I lost 55 lbs in about 6 months), but never got the energy everyone raved about. I always felt off? 2 months in, my blood sugar was great, joint pain gone, but suddenly I was getting a terrible rash and could no longer be in the sun at all. If I tried, within a minute or two, I was so overcome by the rash I had to go inside. The sun exacerbate the rash horribly. I couldn't even ride in the car, the sun was shining through the windows and I'd be in pain. I had to wait until it was dark to go outside, and sleep with ice packs wherever the rash was. Finally, went to a functional med Dr and found out I had histamine intolerance. While cutting out all the healthy keto foods such as avocado, spinach, (even erythritol sweetener) was helping, I still felt like crap. On top of all that, I lost a ton of muscle, even though I was keeping up with my protein. I started menopause 2 months after starting keto. I think diving head first into keto messed up my hormones. I also deal with MTHFR (compound heterozygous C677T and A1298C), if that matters, I don't know. I tried adding some fruits in, blueberries and even an apple a few times a week (I know it's not keto) looking for energy. I'm so confused and feel like crap. I'm not full on keto, b/c of the apples, but at a loss for what to do now. Even before starting to include apples back in my diet, my fasting blood sugar crept back up to prediabetic stage. And I can't seem to get my muscles back, even with weights and bench work. Quite some time ago, I wondered if just eating meat would help. This makes me think it just might be worth trying.

I honestly don’t know what it feels like to wake up normal but and at this stage in my life I can honestly say I’ve come close even to just giving up at life. Such a debilitating condition with so much info and most just misleading

People love acronyms and they use them so nonchalantly... expecting the viewer to do the onerous task of looking up multiple acronyms and then apply the context to figure out what the actual F is meant by DAO e.g. DAO 1. Data access object = In software, a data access object (DAO) is a pattern that provides an abstract interface to some type of database or other persistence mechanism. 2. Decentralized autonomous organization = A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), sometimes called a decentralized autonomous corporation (DAC),[a][1] is an organization managed in whole or in part by decentralized computer program, with voting and finances handled through a blockchain. 3. Diamine oxidase = Diamine oxidase is an enzyme that helps break down excess histamine in your body. More research is needed to establish effectiveness and dosage, though current studies report no adverse effects. So probably in this context, 3rd time is a charm. Ugh -orama holy hell!

EXACTLY! Part of the concept of "Teaching" is to "EXPLAIN", as in "Make Plain", as in "Make Clear". Usually Thomas is very articulate & even with a [very slight] bit of clever humor thrown in for 'free', so to speak, but in this "DAO" sense I know it as more of an Access Data base concept / Acronym, not a 'Universally known' nutritional concept, yet Mikhailia & Thomas (of all people) seemed to have gotten absorbed in the forest of their own words, language, & ling😮oh! [sic] As a person who has taught others many times, over a few decades + ... on a weekly basis, in person, in small intimate groups [no, not 'too intimate'] after studying for several hours w painstaking care to clarify, ... I was amazed. I have listened to T.D. for "about" 6 years, it seems now, and I have never seen or heard him say that word before, yet not one 2nd mention or parenthetical explanation offered, although "DAO" was pronounced several times in conversant "matter-of-fact" tone. (Yes, nice conversation flow, but there is an audience watching & listening also, so it is good to be 'objective', as well as subjectively absorbed, ... i.e. "Desirable" teaching quality & attribute.) I'm glad, ...after, ... I just came back to this interview 5 hours or so after watching it to double check my spelling, because "DDG" ["Duck Duck Go"] did not show 1 entry on it on their 1st page-ful [unusual for them for a 'supposedly' well known reference]. I had spelled it right, then checked in comments, and you @batfly were the only one I found to mention it after having read thru a lot of comments [several of which were needlessly & painfully trite, in conversing w others on sub-atomic sized rabbit hole issues]. I believe though that "this [shared] point" is a legitimate concern for any pleasant, or efficacious speakers such as Mikhailia [cool name that parents gave you] & Thomas to objectively & conscientiously "keep in mind" going forward. 👉 i.e. ... Accronym assumptions while teaching [which are not exactly universally known within scope & context] can be legitimately "FRUSTRATING" for 'imperfect people' such as myself. (Fortunately I am "1-in-a million" & 'most people' are already perfect ... 😇 ☝️ 🙏 🫡 😱 NOT)

@@richsandness5409 And here I thought I was the only Pedantic one. Key Traits of a Pedantic Personality: Formal speaking style - Pedants favor an elaborate, "textbook" way of communicating versus casual language. Obsession with obscure details - Minor, academic facts captivate the pedant‘s interest, more than relatable human experiences. Intellectual competitiveness - Pedants like engaging in debates and intellectual sparring to flex their knowledge. Lecturing tendency - Pedants jump at any chance to share unprompted advice and corrections. Rigid thinking - Pedants strictly adhere to rules and traditional structures over situational flexibility. Social awkwardness - Many pedants lack skills to connect casually and read social cues. I claim Neurodiversity. aka crazy like a fox. So what's your excuse? @ultravioletpisces3666 Assuming that it was "a supplement". The "burden of responsibility" for an otherwise vague (hardly ever used term, i.e never used by Thomas before in any interview that I've ever heard/seen, out of a hundred or so) should not so readily & repeatedly, 'nonchalantly' be used in same conversation w/o giving a clue? Why not leave 'the responsibility' where it belongs, instead of shifting blame onto the [would have been elucidated from] listener? For reference sake, I've done hundreds of research reports & also analysis summaries derived from disparate data sources and have shared in personal small class teachings on my own ventures as well. I was not perfect eithee, but always endeavored to cover or explain the more obvious gaps (which 'normally' Thomas is conscientious to so do also, thus my surprise). "Explain" means "make plain", not "make cryptic". Neither of them were interviewing for nutritionists or doctors, but for laymen. ¿Why? then should such a 'request' from a listener, seeking to glean from an interview seem like "too much" to ask for, from a [effective] teacher? I've done several Powerpoint presentations before also, in professioal Sales department domains, as well as personal research projects and I always strove to 'explain' & make plain to audience, accordingly. (How should that seem "demanding" or inordinate, or 'unreasonable' to a professional [KZfaq] interviewer? Again, for the conscientious & sensitive 'teacher' or 'lead interviewer' 🤔 the 'Burden of Responibility' for non-obvious or highly unusual terms falls first on them. 'That' is where the 'accountability' goes first, thus: 'fault Thomas & interview guest' first, before me & others. I gave it my due diligence, but I am not psychic, nor enlightened on obscure words, etc. & I don't have time & energy for unreasonable assumptions & 'expectations' - who does? I'm not financially compensated for such - @ultravioletpisces3666
