Hello everyone. I knew that this video would be a risk to post, but I wanted to share this reply that I made to a comment here with you all to clear the air. I am totally okay with being wrong, but I wanted to voice my opinion on the state of the show at this very moment. And hey, maybe I will change my mind as the show progresses. But for now, I am unhappy with how season three panned out, and we’ll have to see what happens in season four. It’s totally okay that not everyone will agree with my criticisms, and I even said this in my video: “my criticisms may be too harsh for a show rated TV-G.” I have such a deep connection to this show, and I just don’t want to see it go down a path that will be hard to recover from. I’ve seen many shows do it right, and I’ve seen Miraculous make a few writing mistakes that I wanted to address in this video. This was a video that I have been dwelling over for a long time, because I know that it has a more critical tone to the ones that I’ve made in the past, and I really didn’t know how it would be received by you guys. I’ve always loved discussing deep topics such as this, and I really appreciate reading the comments of you guys from both sides of the argument, because you help me obtain a better understanding of the show and why it has been done the way that it has. I really appreciate all of your guy’s input, and honestly, I’m glad that I was able to get into the nitty-gritty of why ML S3 rubbed me the wrong way, and you’ve helped me obtain a better outlook of why it was executed this way. Thank you guys. I will wholeheartedly admit, that I have been very frustrated and let my emotions bleed into my criticisms a little too much. I wish that I could turn back time and produce a better video, but I know that I have to live with what I’ve said. I wanted to let you all know that you’ve helped me understand the show a lot better than I did before. Edit: also, there are some things that I’ve noticed that I’ve missed that I wanted to address. -While even though I support the cause for reforming the police force, I decided to remove the beginning segment and leave the links because I’ve found that a video criticizing a children’s show isn’t the time and place. What I was trying to do was to help bring awareness to a cause that I supported, but I know that there are other and better ways to do it. -I referred loosely to ZAG as being the ones behind the show being written, when I should have referred to the Writing team and Thomas Astruc. That was my mistake. -I mentioned how Marc was written out, but he actually is still in the show! I saw a tweet a while ago saying how Marc was written out, but I just found out that it happened to be fake (thank God, my sweet boy is still going strong), and there is a video debunking it! But my point was that the lengths that she was going to in season three at times seemed very out of character to me. Also, when I referred to her laying off, I wasn’t super clear with my meaning, so I’ll explain it here. They way I looked at it, I thought of my own crush and how after I realized that he didn’t return my feelings, I knew that I couldn’t just make feelings go away on command, so I decided to give him more space and let him be, and never get in the way of his love life because I had no right to dictate who he dated when I never even had admitted to him that I liked him. That’s what I meant for Marinette. I also memorized my crush’s schedule (mainly because I saw him in the hallways and just kind of put it together mentally over time, which is dumb I know-I feel really stupid for doing stuff like that, when I knew that he wasn’t interested), so when I saw Marinette do it, I didn’t really think anything of it, because she wasn’t doing any harm. Also: the phone. Well, she didn’t steal the phone so that she could smell it and do all other sorts of stuff, she just wanted to delete something that she had said by mistake, and she wasn’t ready for Adrien to know about her feelings just yet, and you know, this is Miraculous Ladybug. The stuff that she did in season one was mild compared to trying to break into someone’s home, and attempting to separate Kagami from Adrien when Mari had no right to dictate Adrien’s love life. So that’s pretty much why I didn’t refer to Mari as a stalker in season one, because the stuff that she did in season three were quite stark in comparison. I hope that I cleared most of your questions up, and if there is anything else that you guys need me to clarify, then feel free to ask me below. :)

The biggest yikes for me was when Mari broke into Adrien's room and she burried her head into his pillow then takes a big whiff. Like WHAT?!

I especially hated when they threw Chloe’s character development out the window in the season 3 finale (I think that was the episode) like she was showing a lot of emotion and stuff and they just threw it away

How to fix Miraculous Ladybugs love square: - Have Marinette ACTUALLY get over Adrien and focus on herself. - Adrien and Kagami try to date and he tells her the truth about liking someone else and they remain friends. - Chat Noir and Ladybugs dynamic changes. Chat due to dating Kagami doesn’t flirt as much, Ladybug starts to notice him more for his actual personality and charm. - Let Marinette in a episode tell Chat that when she was sad that one night it was because of her love of Adrien. Chat panics - Not knowing how to deal with the situation Adrien gets awkward around Marinette, but Marinette not being obsessed anymore doesn’t realize. He begins seeing her as his friend but also as a girl too. Which after shenanigans strengthens their friendship - Marinette cherishes her friendship with Chat and Adrien, and due to getting some confused feelings back decides to date Luka - Adrien gets jealous of their newfound relationship, and realizes he likes Marinette, maybe even trying to charm her as Chat, Adrien and Marinette fight - Marinette goes on a date with Luka, no sparks, they decide to stay friends - Marinette then realizes she’s liked Chat for a while, confessing to him as Ladybug. He rejects her, since he has feelings for Marinette - Marinette is devastated, deciding to not to fall for anyone again - Chat and Ladybugs dynamic falls apart along with Marinette and Adriens - Eventually identities are revealed. They now have to rebuild their relationship not as two different people but as Ladybug/Marinette and Chat Noir/Adrien. They learn to trust each other then the feelings come back - Then Adrien confesses to Marinette for the first time. She accepts. There were so many human moments Adrien had. He’s told Marinette that she shouldn’t go too far on Lila and Chloe. He even told Ladybug that he wasn’t fit for the snake miraculous. Yet Marinette still got jealous and went too far, she still thinks Adrien is prefect. How is she still not learning yet-? HOW?!

I'd like to emphasize something for a sec, Chat Blanc, an ep we all knew was coming, we all wanted, we all hoped would really push the story, the one we made the most predictions for, Was a filler episode. Really think about that.

all marinette had to do in Chat Blanc was not snoop around and sniff adrien’s room and belongings, leave the present on his bed, and go. if she never snooped around in his room, and just dropped the shit and left adrien would’ve never caught ladybug, and never would’ve figured out ladybug was marinette and then all the catastrophe would’ve never happened and there would’ve been some progress in their relationship

hopefully in season 4 she’ll be less embarrassing in front of him because at the end of season 3 she seemed to accept that adrien likes kagami. edit: but i won’t keep my hopes high.

The part that really upsetted me is that Chloe was just about to have character development we started seeing how she doesn’t get enough love from her mother and bullying is the way she copes with it. UNTIL MIRACLE QUEEN HAD TO DESTROY EVERYTHINGG 😭

I feel like Marinette has been flanderized, even if it’s only been three seasons. She’s gone from a crush to scarily obsessive and it’s not a good look for a relatable character.

A big problem with Miraculous is that the stakes are never raised. Even if the akuma is more powerful, we all know that by the end of the episode, Ladybug will defeat it and use the miraculous cure to return Paris to the way it was before. Even in Chat Blanc, when Chat threatened to destroy the whole world, to me it felt only a little more intense than usual. There was no way Ladybug would let Chat destroy that much, so why should I worry? In the end, the miraculous cure fixed everything, including Marinette's mistake in the past. Not only do the akumas have no physical effect on the city, but Marinette's mistakes also have no impact because the problem always gets fixed. Maybe if we saw more negative emotional responses to the akumas (such as a person having nightmares about akumas), then we would see that people's lives are actually negatively impacted. This would help raise the stakes. If akuma battles lasted multiple episodes, or multiple days in the miraculous world, with the heros getting injured in ways that affect them for the rest of the battle, then viewers would also feel like the akuma is actually difficult to defeat. If Marinette's mistakes couldn't always be fixed, or took more time and effort (more than one episode) to fix, then her mistakes would be more interesting for me to watch because would know that there are consequences.

When Miraculous first came out, i thought it was amazing, but when the seasons started passing and yet most of the episodes were filler, i started to really hate it and found it boring. Usually i might stay for the characters, but Marrinette, the PROTAGONIST, is insufferable.

The show refuses to progress. Nothing develops. Chat Blanc almost gave us progress, but erased it all with time travel. So frustrating, and not in a good way.

i love that season 1 & 2 is like a generic kid's show that the writers were marketing properly and then they realized who their audience was and decided season 3 should be a bunch of fanfics mashed together

Personally the biggest mistake was having adult (men) writing a teen girl character, seemingly without good reference or input. Her actions just end up being generally dislikable or a huge joke, something that wasn’t an exaggerated punchline in the earlier seasons -seasons that we all loved.

That moment when you realise that Kagami has had more development in both herself, and her relationships with Adrien and Marinette, than Adrien and Marinette have had, both as themselves, and in their relationship.

There is definitely an issue of having an adult man trying to write a teenage girl. Not to say people from another demographic can't write for another, but there's a likelihood that you won't do it well because you're not part of the group and don't have the same experience and outlook. Your information is exclusively secondhand. It's why you should have editors who are in that demographic because otherwise you might write something ignorant. Even then, not everyone is gonna be super jazzed about idk a white cis person writing about what it's like to be a black and trans. That said, Marinette's behaviour flip-flops like crazy. One minute she's a a calm, high-flying hero, the next she's rooting through Adrien's trash for hair clippings because apparently Astruc has decided to focus on cringe comedy and thinks obsession = love. Or he thinks kids are too stupid to understand romance if he doesn't beat them over the head with it. *Disclaimer:* being part of a demographic also doesn't mean you are automatically better at telling a story, but it does mean that whatever you write will at least be true to your own experiences which makes it steps ahead

There's also the issue with Chat Noir usually being completely useless or making things worse. If some form of mind control is involved, you know he's going to get hit by it and become an obstacle for Ladybug. There's also the fact that he constantly flirts *while in the middle of a battle,* not only putting himself and ladybug in danger, but innocent bystanders as well. And then there's Chloe. She can have moments where she realizes what type of a person she is to everyone else, but then go back to her old ways, getting half of Paris akumatized and showing no remorse. Even with the Queen Bee arc, she understands that because she revealed her identity as Queen Bee to all of Paris, she has put herself, her family and the other miraculous holders in danger. But then in the finale, she's back to demanding the bee miraculous for herself. Even after she previously *resisted an akuma,* she then later welcomes it just because Ladybug didn't lend her the special toy. Then the whole "lending a miraculous" thing kinda loses its significance when the same characters are regularly brought in to help. At that point, just *give* Alya and Nino the miraculous that they each use and become an official team. They could've had Adrien reveal his identity to Nino if that happened, and Marinette would do the same with Alya (because they're close friends. That doesn't mean that Adrien would tell Alya and Marinette, and vice-versa). Alya nad Nino know each others identities, might as well make it a whole organized thing. Also, when Marinette and Adrien swapped miraculous's, why did their designs look so much better than their regular ones? The green highlights on Lady-noir as well as the solid black breaking up the red on Mr. Bug looked so much better than the solid black on Chat Noir and polka-dot onesie on Ladybug

I agree with all of these points. But I also know Zag wasn’t really responsible for this. It was Thomas Astruc and the writing team, which makes it even more infuriating in my opinion.

I actually agree a lot with your point with the whole "everyone gets a Miraculous" bit. It makes the plot lose its charm that Adrien and Marinette are special. Not only that, with more Miraculous users, it can actually cause more problems to the people in the MLB universe. And with Ladybug and Chat Noir ability to unify multiple Miraculouses at once (as shown in Miracle Queen and Kwami Buster), there is really no need for a new wielder.

I honestly love that no one was having that scene with Marinette and the "statue" of Adrien. I remember watching a subbed version of it as soon as I could and even the youtuber who posted it took a second to pause the show and gave us a warning of cringe before that scene began. I could barely watch it. And now after watching your video, months later, I'm glad I wasnt the only one who felt that ugh

Even if it did just stick to "victim of the week", it could be worthwhile if they made the people smart. Possibly my favorite episode of the series is the one where Jagged Stone gets Akumatized. His Manager stupidly tried to force him to change his style just because he dropped down to #2 on the charts, he told his manager the style manager wanted him to change to was simply inauthentic to his brand, he just needs to step up his game to get back to #1. Marinette made him his now iconic glasses, she understands his style, maybe she should held with stepping up his game. Manager begrudgingly went along with it but went behind his back and told Marinette to make the new album cover like the new style. Marinette rightfully thought "this doesn't seem like Jagged Stone's style, but if this is what he wants, I'll try my best". Jagged did not like her submission, but QUICKLY CAUGHT ON to the fact his manager went behind his back and gave Marinette bad instructions, and asked her to please give it a 2nd try, but more authentic to his style. He was smart, he saw through the stupidity of upper management and didn't blame the creative team just trying to do their best with the instructions they were given. And then we later learn his stupid manager was actually the guy who temporarily took the #1 slot's father, he just knew his son was a talentless hack but was fully willing to throw his professional integrity and competence out the window to trick people into thinking his son was less of a hack than he actually was. He conned Luka's band into giving them a new hit and them screwed them out of the credit, which was another good episode. Jagged Stone is a likable character, he recognizes Marinette's talent and shows her professional respect, he also highly respects his assistant when it's a common cliche to treat assistant's like dirt, and he makes good use of his fame, being a judge on small competitions and going on cooking shows. If they were that conscientious about more characters, seeing through everyday bullshit to show how likable they are, the series would be more engaging. But instead, they bend over backwards to make so many victims of the week and other citizens be complete irrational idiots.

Also I hate how the show basically leaves Cat Noir out on everything thing to do with the Miraculouses. Their are only like 5 or 6 interactions with Master Fu and Cat Noir ever and in the Season three finale Master Fu doesn't even think one bit about considering Cat Noir as a worth guardian. I do get that Ladybug/Marinette is the Main character but I fell like Master Fu didn't trust Cat Noir as he did with Ladybug

Honestly, one thing that really irritates me about the show is how much they throw around the word “love”. I feel like it’s a term that shouldn’t be used willy nilly simply because: 1) they’re teenagers. I’m a teen and I think it takes away from the relatability to have them saying “I love you” out of no where just is pretty weird and not natural sounding. 2) it takes away from the impact the phrase could have later. Like in “Chat Blanc” imagine how much more impactful it would be instead of Adrien saying “I’m saying that I love you,” at the beginning, saying “I’m saying that I have feelings for you,”. Saving the L word for the part where he’s begging Gorilla to let him through “it can’t end like this, please I love her.” Thanks for listening to my TED Talk.

Fans : we want more character development Zag : You want more characters... with a miraculous you say? Fans : wait no, that's not... Zag : wouldn't it be cool if Juleka had a tiger miraculous tho? lol

The problem with Marinette is twofold in my opinion: 1) as a character, she isn’t allowed to achieve either of her goals because of the status quo, making her automatically boring (she can’t date Adrien and she can’t beat Hawkmoth). 2) Astruc is unwilling to write episodes where she isn’t center-stage the entire time, which leads to him bending both the episode plot and Marinette’s character to include her. So many of the episodes where Adrien or another character seem to be center stage are ruined (such as the one where Kagami gets akumatized a second time because of Chloe). And to incorporate Marinette, Astruc falls on his old reliable writing crutch: making Marinette stalk / chase Adrien, that way she’s nearby while the more interesting plot line with him as the main character can unfold (Party Crasher is another fine example).

I feel like if they focused more on Marinettes hobbies and goals, the show would be more interesting. What happened to her fashion side, aside from it being used to propel unrelated plots? Why not give her the goal of demasking hawkmoth or getting stronger so she has something physical and realistic to work towards? All these filler episodes imply character focus and yet the only 3 dimensional thing about our heroine is the art style

I missed the old marinette, they turned her into a total creep gate keeping adrien from hanging around others when if he was a friend to her she’d let him have his own privacy and make friends or date whom ever. This show teaches how to love the wrong way, people the close minded aUdiEnce hates kagami for being with adrien when y’all know adrienette is endgame and kagami has done nothing wrong and barely as shown in the show to be judged when we have chloe whos been here longer and they completely destroy her character all for plot or to fill in for the season. If marinette was a boy she’d be painted as a creep to everyone, but it’s so cUtE and understandable because she’s a fanGIRL 🙄

The thing that annoyed me the most, and the thing I can't get over, is how Luka confessed his love to Marinette and the next episode no one even mentioned it. It's like everyone suddenly forgot. Not to mention how Adrien was LEADING KAGAMI ON when after finding out she loved him, he doesn't bother to tell her about the girl he likes and continues to string her on. It doesn't seem like something either of the characters would have done and it was so frustrating. Also: What is the point of Viperion's Harp? Can anyone tell me what it's supposed to do?

Tbh the only time marinette behaved like a human being throughout an entire episode was the episode in Season 1 where her uncle is a chef and gets akumatized

They could've made Marinette practice confessing her feelings to Adrien or just practice talking with more confidence to him when he faked being a statue, like that scene when Zuko practiced apologizing on a frog.

why is no one talking about how entertaining her made up episode with winnie the pooh was

Literally, its starting to become one of those throw away 'kids shows' that you see on tv nowadays, to the point where a lot of the episodes could be watched as stand alone without even knowing the basic plot of the show. Even then, I think even my little pony does great job of pushing plot forward and developing characters so it being ' a kids show ' is definitely not an excuse.

Chat Blanc is a filler episode because of the way they have written the story. It would actually work as an episode in a storyline bc it increases Marinette's desire to make sure Chat Noir never finds out she is Ladybug...because their love would destroy the world. So in a proper story with an overarching plot, it would work.

When she was talking about adding too many miraculous holders I TOTALLY agree with that. The only one I am ok with (other than the main 5 group) is when she gave luka one because it adds to the relationship with luka and marionette and gives the audience more to think about considering Adrian/Chat’s relationship with Mari/Ladybug

And can we also talk about how all the interesting plot points that are teased in the trailers always end up not counting?? For example: Chat Blanc - Chat Noir gets akumatized I was sooooo excited for that but guess what? it is in an alternate time line so it is not relevant to the story, Oblivio - the reveal...again sooo excited but guess what? it does not count because they forgot that it ever happened, The one with the mouse miraculous (don´t know the name) - the reveal was teased yet again but nothing actually happened, even in Stormy weather 2 - Adrien almost discovered that the valentine was from Marinette but again nooooo just a similar hand writing or when he saw his pictures in her room and we thought that he figured out she likes him but again nothing actually happened .....honestly I am getting so tired of this....Now I don´t even expect anything interesting to happen because literally everything up until now has been just to get people excited abour a certain episode and than have none of it count...

In some episodes, Marinette does things just to praise Adrien, and I sort of don't like it, because she's prioritizing Adrien over everyone, just like in that episode where Jagged is looking for a new guitarrist and then she says that Adrien is perfect for the job. But Luka is the real guitarrist but she didn't care even if she knew it! _gRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH_ Sorry for my english though :D

I hate that the writer's only defense to the complaints the fans give them is "It's just a kids' show". My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic had better writing than this! And that show was intended to have an episodic structure when there were actually a lot of serialized elements. Especially in seasons 4 and 5.

I lost interest when the internet completely turned on Adrian when he ended up starting a relationship with Kagami. Please people what did you expect. Your main character is a stalker that barely talks to the boy she likes and that boy falls for another girl. Oh no she cried, apparently that makes Adrian a asshole. I couldn’t after that. I always hated Marinette, that just ruined it for me.

I just wish Marrinette would realize Adrien is a person, he can handle himself, he is not mind-numbingly stupid (okay well you know what I mean) he has a brain (most of the time). Like every character no matter how well written treats each other character like an object. It's just stupid that everyone in this show about *teenagers* has the mind of a child. TwT

My biggest problem with the show is how it writes its characters. Take Cat Noir for example, slowly overtime he has been reduced to comedic sidekick. It’s confusing to see him get treated as this weak and incapable character. Him and Ladybug are supposed to have the two strongest miraculous, but he gets treated like dirt. Ladybug and the guardian never let him in on anything. I hope in the future they showcase how great of a superhero Cat Noir is. Another problem I have is how the show handles Chloe. The creator has said that Chloe will NEVER be redeemed. But then he shows her being neglected by her mother, and becoming less selfish. He gave her a perfect redemption and just completely destroyed it at the end of season 3. I hope next season we see more raw emotion from the characters and some dang development. Edit: I’ve also realized that Luka’s character is super basic. He’s just a edgy guy who plays guitar, dyes his hair, and has black nails. Has the show ever explained why he likes marionette? No, they haven’t. I want to know more about him other than: He’s a nice guy who plays guitar. I don’t think he and marionette are a good couple at all. Because at the end of the day, marionette needs someone that understands her. Luka’s nice but he doesn’t understand her superhero life. And marionette can’t tell him about it either. I think Adrian needs to understand what actual love is and not idolizing someone. And marionette needs to understand other people besides herself. And realize that other people have lives that don’t always include her.

What i want to happen in the show: - Marinette gotten over for her crush to Adrien and date Luka Same goes to Adrien - Instead of fighting Akumatized villians, why not try crime scenes like: Theft, kidnapper(Umm why not scratch that), etc. - And instead of Gabriel always akumatizing people, why not take a break and spend time with Adrien or even Nathalie Edit: - Instead of Marinette being clumsy all the time, try and make her improve and try to be mature - Instead of making everyone blind from Lila's lies, try to make some of the students realize that all she was saying were lies and not be a dumb sheep who will fall for her trap - Add more moral lessons to the story like : Believe and trust yourself, don't listen to others who give insults to you. - Make Chat noir more useful, not just a dummy or a distraction. - Make ladybug not so over powered and quote on quote : Perfect - Have more screen time to the other characters to understand their life more.

Puppeteer 2 is Honestly hard to watch

I completely agree Bubs. If Zag does not change the episode format so many fans will leave. My sister got me involved in ML but she told me recently that she was done with the show and did not care if ML would get a fourth season. I hope beyond hope that Zag changes it up and focuses on the characters we love, like ladybug and Chat instead of introducing characters that the fans won't remember.

At the rate that Marinette is going, Adrien will have to report harrassment soon 😂

Svtfoe also did a similar thing. Just because a show got popular doesn't mean you can change the characters to your will, and expect fans to not notice the differences. Hardcore fans who only like the show for 1 thing will gobble up these episodes, without noticing the flaws. When i saw people calling Marinette a freak, i was like "bro no" But i guess i got more character development than them and now i can clearly see that the writers got lazy and give the excuse "Theyre clibrem amb they are bumd"

Not to mention that in the beginning of “Animaestero” even Tikki was showing signs of irritation to Marinette’s obsession of Adrian if she hadn’t before. Also I will kinda argue that Gamer 2.0 had some substance to Marinette because Marinette/Ladybug was being too headstrong in trying to defeat villans/doing too much work with school and the episode was a “Hey, chill out. Take some time for yourself” towards Marinette.

Omg I was so excited to see “you don’t know me” on the list of fanfics that do something right. That one is absolutely one of my favorites of all time and it builds the relationship immensely without even having to have Mari present for most of it. It’s emotional and deeply moving. I think the problem with ML right now is that it’s stuck between what it wants to be and what it viably can be. At the end of the day, it’s still a children’s show. It was originally made for a younger audience, even if it was adopted by an older one. It’s having trouble getting out of that shallow repetitive loop because it can’t be as emotionally explorative or immersive as it maybe could be if it weren’t first and foremost a children’s show. That being said, there are shows that are children’s shows that have bridged this gap between emotional and easy to follow/ for kids (such as Steven universe, Star VS., Gravity falls, etc. etc.) but some of them did get a lot of backlash and some were (at least in my opinion) targeted at a little bit of an older audience than the one ML may be primarily intended for. I think the writers are having trouble with their story because they’re trying to cater to too many people at one time. They are trying to get it to the emotional level teens and adults may want, while still making it fun and understandable for young kids who may not have the attention span to sit down and watch through a whole over arching story line, and it just doesn’t work. I don’t know, that’s just my opinion. I definitely admit they could have done many many many things better than they did, but I can also understand the kind of predicament they may feel they are in.

Poor Chloe, her character got chucked under a bus, she was one of the rare characters to get actual development and then they just decided to reset her back to the annoyance from the beginning. The entire premise is that Ladybug and Chat are suppose to be a team, then why is it that Chat is always sidelined and Ladybug gets everything? Shouldn't they have been progressing together, why only tell Ladybug the full story about the Miraculous and leave Chat in the dark about it, why didn't he get the two together and tell the story. I honestly thought a overlapping arc would have appeared in season 2, I was disappointed we were still running with the monster of the week format. You had all of season 1 to world build and set the rules. How are we not building on it, especially when they became a team of 5; that's it, that was your que to up the difficulty and stakes, get new villains in but nope. And does anyone really care for Marienette x Adrien at this stage? 3 years of no progress, how is anyone suppose to get invested in that?

season 3 literally had like 2 good episodes and the rest was garbage. it's like they don't understand character consistency and development. how you have marinette comfortable with adrien in one moment and then deathly afraid to talk to him in the next?

REPEAT AFTER ME; JUST BECAUSE ITS A A KID'S SHOW DOES NOT MEAN IT HAS TO BE STUPID. if anything, it should very MUCH have characters who are fleshed out and have realistic yet intriguing personalities with good story-telling because of how much of an impact it can place on a child. i'm 20 years old, i watched this show FROM THE ABSOLUTE BEGINNING, before there was even an english dub. when i hit season 3, i could feel the show treating me like a child, like it wanted me to laugh and giggle when marinette was acting downright creepy regarding adrien. it is EXTREMELY difficult for me to like marinette at this point and it makes me so sad because i LOVED her when i first watched this show. and don't get me started on how dirty they treated chloe, as well.

This whole show basically is telling kids "even if your crush says no, just ignore it an keep going bc if you like them enough they will like you eventually" aka cat noir, Marinette, etc

The problem is that whenever the audience says smth they throw the "it's a kids show" card or Thomas gets all mad, childish and rude towards us. As long as Thomas prefers to (as my dad says) be right rather than be happy, the show's not going anywhere... what they don't get is that, as much of a kids shows as ml might be, the audience is mainly composed of 12+yo ppl

God don’t say “started with so much potential” or “it has so much potential” in front of me. It just gives me voltron flashbacks. It’s a great example of how a show could start out amazing but still end up awfully. A lot of craters get a big head in the beginning and think their formula works and they keep going with it, but it really just destroys their show in the process

I really agree with you. These are some of the things I would change: 1. Marinette's obsession with Adrien is creepy af. It's normal to act kind of weird when it comes to your crush but Marinette is so creepy that if I was Adrien and knew about all the things she did I don't think I could ever like her in that way. They have to stop with that. 2. Season 3 was an Adrinette KILLER. It made me ship Lukanette more and more and Adrinette less and less. I am reading Adrinette fanfics so I don't stop shipping them. There is supposed to be only two more seasons, if they don't start to make Adrien fall for Marinette and Marinette fall for Cat Noir REALLY SOON then I don't see how it won't feel forced in the end. 3. They say that all the episodes in season 4 will be like Chat Blanc. BUT they also say that all the episodes can be watched in any order. HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO MAKE EPISODES WITH A LOT OF PLOT IF I CAN LITERALLY WATCH ONE OF THE LAST ONES BEFORE ONE OF THE FIRST ONES? This one thing makes me believe that the season will be 10x worse than it could have been. 4. After season 2 I was really liking the way Chloé had started to change. Then season 3 came and put her back to square one. They seriously have to stop doing things like that, they are so slow developing characters so why in the world did they 'reset' the one that actually had proper devolopment?? 5. To be honest I don't really care much about the Akuma fights. They can't stop having fights ofc because that is such a huge part of the show, but I would like to see more of the time when they are not fighting, and also more time were they are turned into superheroes without fighting. Now that Marinette is the guardian I think it would be a nice idea for Ladybug and Cat Noir to have more non-fighting meetings. I could have said more things about production, the show, plot, characters, etc. but I don't think I should write more, I still like the show even if there are a lot of things that I don't like about it.

Finally someone said it. I've heard a lot of fans saying that Season 3 is their favorite season, but I could never understand that. I like Season 2 the best because it finally felt like the show was going somewhere, doing something. The final episodes of 2, we finally got to see all 5 heroes take on Hawkmoth together, and that was awesome. But then, this went nowhere. The other heroes got sidelined, and Hawkmoth stopped seeming like a big threat, and then there were the alternate ships, and the filler episodes, and a bunch of heroes we didn't need. I love the show, but...Season 3 just felt like a jumble of ideas smashed together with no real thought as to how it was supposed to end.

Pretty much why I ship Mari with Luka. Say what you want, but she is 100% less annoying when hes around. No stalking, or being creepy. And he genuinely cares about her. But Thomas will never go anywhere interesting with his characters. I hope he proves me wrong with that.

Yeah, Season 3 was..bad. I really hope the team learns from it, though. We've seen that the show has the potential to be great, but they're just not going in the right direction. If they listen to the fans, give a more linear plot, and take time to develop certain characters more and more, the show could be truly great.

What I hate is how ignored cat is. Like I get that lady bug is the main but still. I mean in most of their missions it’s always lady bug telling him what to do , coming up with ideas and saving people. Their suppose to be a team partners, but it just seems that cat is her side kick that she bosses around the whole time. Like I wish that their would be atleast one episode where cat saves everyone and not lady bug, atleast once. Also how master fu literally ignores his existence, like what about him? Why just lady bug. I genuinely feel for him, he deserves to do more, not just be a second in a team. Also how lady bug treats him sometimes. Like yeah I get that she sees him as a side kick, but like she’s so serious and responsible like with him. And basically always rejects his offer of them being more than just super hero friends, but closer friends who hang out on other occasions not just saving the world. Like even the people, everyone always gives the attention to lady bug like cat basically is a second to her, which is sad. I hope that they would make him more of a main character too, like they said cat and lady bug have the most powerful ones, but it always seems like it’s her more than him. Anyways I hope that changes , cause he deserves to be more than a sarcastic side character side kick.

also can we talk about how the fandom is tearing each other apart? As an editor in the fandom I see toxicity spread every.single.day. And it’s annoying? Like adrigami is a great ship to build up Adriens personality and love interest, he will learn new things when he’s with her. Not saying it will last forever to the point where they’ll get married?!? People tear each other apart with death threats when they see something they don’t like. They have the NEED to SAY how they feel in the comments, acting like it doesn’t affect the editor itself. I’m very tired of this, when I edit lila or kagami I lose 10 followers in a DAY ALONE- not to mention the comments saying “I don’t like her” “ew” and “love the edit, hate the character” those backhanded compliments are awful- my friend gets death threats every day for editing adrigami- and it’s so tiring.

They need to akumatize one of them and I’m not talking about that alternative universe Chat Blanc BS. It has to be in their universe and either LB gets akumatized or CN gets it. If LB gets akumatized the audience will get to see him struggle on how to get her back without being able to purify the akuma. If CN gets akumatized again, have it be for a few episodes.

My biggest issue is the whole “we can never know who each other are” routine! I am obviously understanding of why the world can’t know there secret after all we’ve seen that countless times with other super hero story my issue is why can’t ladybug and cat noir can’t secretly know who each other are. And trust me this isn’t driven purely by shipping this is driven by the fact that with the two of them together they could easily find hawk moth after all in the episode where they do learn each other’s secret it’s like an second later that they are in hawkmoths layer (I will admit that harkmoth could have tricked them into it but regardless). Also I don’t care if that one episode is supposed to show us why because I’m sorry but if they had revealed each other secretly hawk moth WOULD NOT HAVE SEEN THEM!!!!!!! Sigh I am not gonna lie I don’t think I can handle much more of this show I want it to be good but you can only have your expectations bashed so many times.... Oh also it would be one thing if the show gave us an reason for this but they never really do..... that is all

Things I feel like they need to improve on 1. Consistent character development 2. Keep the kwami with each character 3. Better story line than here is an akuma. Like in three seasons Marinette and Adrien are no closer to figuring out that Gabriel Agreste is Hawkmoth
