I am a Christian and have always chosen to dress modestly. For me that means the shortest skirt or shorts I wear are knee length, I wear shirts that are long, have sleeves, and don't have low necklines. I also try to wear clothing that is not super tight. This is a choice I have maid and it gives me so much confidence and is so comfortable. I never once felt like I was missing out or like I was unattractive because of what I wear. Modest fashion is the best!

I'm Muslim so I dress the same as the woman with her own fashion line. I did not always do that though. I have to say the day I chose to cover my body (my hair came later) was the most liberating day of my life. For the first time since I was in my middle teens I felt like more of a person and less of an object to look at. It is so empowering, but is still often seen as a form of oppression. Sadly, I have to add I had no Muslim people in my life to push me to do so. in fact, I had never met another Muslim in person until long after I became Muslim and covered myself.

@@kstar1489 I think from a Christian perspective the reason some might say short skirts and tight or revealing clothing is inaporopriate is because the clothing can become the center of focus and not the person themselves. It can also cause men who may struggle with lust or have an addiction to porn to stumble. It can also cause a person to be not taken as seriously as someone who dresses more modestly. In and of itself it's not wrong, it's just there are good reasons to dress modestly. God bless you!😊✝️💕❤

People who think modesty is boring usually dont know how to really be intresting. Im into an alternative fashion that encourages to cover up as much as possible and its so bueatiful in its own unique way. Its like being a kawaii victorian/ rococo child. Its cute, anti sexual, yet flashy. Its the perfect balance between opulance without looking sexy. Which lots of feminin clothing tend to lean to these days

As a boy growing up, I typically dressed more covered than others. There wasn’t a specific reason why, it was just what I liked to wear. The women in my life perpetrated that I as a male should be obsessed with attracting sexual attention, which made me uncomfortable as a kid. I’m glad to see a video like this that normalizes the idea that people are allowed to cover up, just as we are allowed to reveal.

I have dressed more modestly since highschool. I hated my sport uniforms showing off so much. While I'm not majorly into baggy clothes, I wear things that cover my skin and feel far more beautiful that way. I've been told I'm wearing oppression because I like to cover up more. That's not it. Nothing is a more sad/ironic than a Christian woman with a cross in her cleavage. Modest women are the real bad bitches and they deserve all the hype and attention cause they’re not looking for it. It is the ultimate form of sexiness for a man to know that his woman’s body is for his eyes only, and it shows she respects him in addition to herself. Respect is the glue of a relationship.

There are multiple interpretations of dressing modestly. Some of which are aligned with religous guidelines and others are related to personal taste. Regardless of either, dressing modestly is equivalent to dressing with class, self-respect, and a respect for others. It demonstrates confidence, style, grace, and elegance.

I wish I would have seen this video when it aired. I believe that this interview should have been labeled modesty in Islam. I believe that this is the issue when discussing modest fashion. Many people when they hear the word modest they think a Muslim because the fashion world doesn’t make any distinction. So many women dress modest and it has nothing to do with religion. The discussion around modesty and fashion has to be much larger so that modest fashion designers like myself don’t get placed into a box of discriminatory practices. I want every woman to benefit from the beauty of modest fashion.

I’m not into the idea of tell anyone what they can and cannot wear! If you are engaging in a contact sport like wrestling or doing something like gymnastics, where certain clothing can get in the way of competing, I think that restrictions on clothing would be discriminatory. I personally don’t like that gymnasts have been competing in bathing suits essentially, but I can definitely see where clothing that is TOO loose would inhibit judging (are you bent at the waist, are your legs straight and together, etc) and some rules about uniforms would serve a legitimate purpose. Another thing I would say is that clothing that covers your face in things like passports and state id’s can pose a security problem. There are places or instances where people have a legitimate need to see your face and be able to confirm who you are!

@@dairyqueue one thing is enforced modesty, I don’t think anyone should be forced to wear anything. My point is that the feminist idea that being essentially naked is somehow better is pretty dumb. Now we have women being sexualized and objectified while at the same time they complain about it. Yes, men hate seeing women’s bodies… we sure got the patriarchy! 🤣 You can’t have it both ways. Modesty has a purpose and it is good.

When women and gay men dominate the fashion industry we end up with hooker fashion. That’s really what it comes down to. If you look at the beautiful and modest fashion of the past, it was mostly designed by men. Women sewed, yes, but it was men who created the newest styles of fashion and the styles were beautiful and they honored women’s bodies. Now feminism has gotten women convinced that getting naked is empowering. What a sad world.

Modesty isnt mortality. Morality doesnt have to do with any sort of physical appearance. To me looking religious is the issue, a lot of ppl want freedom from religion. In America Christians use religion to define morality.

I just associate it with judgmental religious conservatives, and often they are, but not everyone who wears “modest” clothing is. And I just think about gross religious conservative men clapping at modesty. I just wanna piss them off. It’s sad how many women think the same way as conservative men, judging and blaming women. It’s disgusting. Wear what you want, there is no shame in “immodest” clothing. Tbh I just hate the word modest because to many people it doesn’t just describe clothing but some sort of statement in one’s “character”, which is just gross.

Many women are conservative and we don’t do it for men. If you don’t think that’s the case then I hope you also think that liberal women are liberal because they want to please liberal men. Don’t be a hypocrite, have a consistent logic. If you’re so in favor of women doing what they want then let women be modest and let us be grossed out by women that objectify themselves. Your comment is extremely judgemental and it’s funny because you’re the same kind of person accusing everyone of doing what you are also doing.

So sorry you have to be covered to feel secure. Why don’t men cover themselves to feel secure! Dress however u want just stop promoting it. Young beautiful Iranian girls are being killed, prisoned because of hejab. Here is an idea, Why don’t you make a documentary about those girls so you can present both sides and establish credibility as a non biased reporter.

These girls are expressing their womanhood how they want. That’s particularly what feminism is about. This comment is condensing and tone deaf. This isn’t about men and what they want women to do. We know more than enough about women who are forced to wear hijabs, this is about the women who aren’t. Traditional women who want to actually be traditional don’t need “tolerant” people talking down to them over a lifestyle they choose to live because it makes them uncomfortable. Comments like this are why these videos exist. These women are fine, and I’m sure they’re tired of convincing people who treat them like babies and undermine their opinions like the oppressive men they hate so much that they are.

@@juliamichelle6212 there is no religious morality in punching someone in the face for sport. It maybe ok as an exercise or useful skill but definitely not for gain or spectator sport related to gambling. And certainly not for a woman encouraging violence and aggressive attitude in opposed to temperance. Plus fashion as defined in this regard means trends, what’s in vogue or popular which is never about modesty even if a “modest” garment was the fad. Therefore it’s contrary by definition.

I’m still completely dumbfounded when I see a chubby woman wearing a crop top with short, shorts.🫣 I’m not trying to shame anyone but I’m in good shape and would probably look good wearing those sort of things. Call me old-fashioned but I still wouldn’t be caught dead, wearing something like that out in public, I simply don’t like being on display.😬 I also don’t think people will take you serious if you look like you’re advertising, IMHO of course.😉✌🏼😎
