The problem isn’t getting them back with this rule, it’s that once you’ve got them back, you’ve got to maintain that independence and confidence to keep their attraction. So many guys do the no contact, gain more confidence, become more attractive and then as soon as their ex comes back to them they revert to their patterns of neediness and dependence and the cycle continues. Realize deeply that your happiness can not be dependent on another human being. The no contact rule only works with people who care about you. Also "caring" is a broad concept. For example if that person was using you for money/sex/ego boost the no contact rule will work on them too... Till they replace you...

No contact is a powerful tool, especially for longer duration.. It gives you time to evaluate your relationship. You may come to a conclusion that the person is not worth keeping. Whether they contact you or not, you are already over them.

The only concern I have about this theory, is the idea that you actually want that person. When I pull away, reduce contact, it usually means I've lost interest or I'm not sure if I like the guy, or I'm trying to reject the guy. To say, reducing contact can create a stage for attraction, really doesn't help when you are actually wslking away. No wonder, so many guys or girls get the wrong impression. Missing someine, on the other hand, needs to be expressed. Hiding feelings or attraction can rub off as indifference. Not an quality, I want in my love interest. However, I do see the push' pull, hot-cold reactions as sn escalator for emotional pain. .if that psin creates attraction, then it's just a knee jerk reaction, it's about power not necessarily about love.

I did no contact and it worked (sort of). I was too hurt to reach back out to her when she made the effort. The girl flat out told me she didn't love me when she ended it. She then started to show up at a bar I go to and stalked me on facebook. I blocked her and she got the message. She unfriended me after that on all social media and I haven't heard from her since. We would meet 6:30pm, but he texted me 6pm saying he was already there. We met at a underground station, he was smiling, gave me a arm hug, gave me a compliment and we went to a pub for few beers. We talked about ours lives and clearly I was “winning” this break up. He was so opened and arm, totally different from the guy at the day that broke up with me. He looked happy to see me. The gift was an ukelele that I could paint the way I want (I paint and I play guitar, so that’s why he bought the gift). He said he had got the gift long time ago and it was supposed to be my Christmas gift, but I know it wasn’t true. I saw at Amazon where I’m 100% sure he got the gift there and it’s 3/4 days to delivery. So it was a excuse to see me I guess. It was pretty good, we spoke a lot, even about his “issue” that he’s stuck and can’t open his heart to love again after a break up he had 3 years and half ago who traumatized him, a lot of eyes contact, sometimes he was behaving like when we were together, I was playful, made jokes about him (good jokes), he was wearing the shoes I gave him, but in the talk about ours “mental struggle” I said that maybe I was stronger than him and he said that was a mean thing to say cause he couldn’t do it by himself and needed help to open his heart, but he didn’t get upset, I guess hahaha.. I ended the meeting after 3 beers (about 2h with him) cause I had to meet some friends for a sushi dinner. He was “jealous” cause he loves sushi and said that we was going to eat sushi as well (I felt like he was expecting me to invite him to go with me), we went to take the underground and on the escalators he turned to look at me and I was really staring him all the time of the meeting and he was smiling and saying “what are you thinking? You’re like analyzing hahha”. Anyway he gave me a hug and said it was good too see me and merry Christmas and we went to different directions to take our train. It was really good but after the meeting I texted him saying sorry about what I said of being stronger than him, I said I didn’t blame him for his past relationship, that I understand how painful was and that affected him, said I loved the gift, that was good to see him and to have fun with his family (today he is going home, 4h driving and will stay 1 week there). He didn’t reply and I guess I shouldn’t have texted that. I just would like to know if I keep the no contact. He is was liking some posts on my Facebook and commenting, but I don’t do the same. Don’t know if from know I still keep going like that. We dated for 4 amazing months, romantic trip to Switzerland and he had booked our flights to Iceland 11 days before break up with me. It’s so confuse to me all of this situation. He broke up cause he didn’t “fall in love” with me. Now seems he misses me a lot.

My situation is very unique! We are/were engaged but I gave her covid and she gave it to her best friend whom died. She has resentment but knows it’s not ok to have those thoughts. She pulled away a couple months ago before covid and I did what most guys do and got insecure and tried to fix instead of mirroring her actions. I smothered her and attraction went down. After covid I was terrified that would destroy us abs I tried to fix again but still made it worse. I didn’t let her grieve properly because of insecurity and I crossed too many of her boundaries (not understanding them at the time) she had enough after I went to her house to try to force a conversation at 330 am. That was in she said she had enough and was done. That break up turned into just taking a break. I’m going to go NC but she is keeping up on our snap streak. We also work together in a wear house so it’s a challenge to avoid her but I can. Question is will NC work?
