Judging by the five factors you mentioned, you don't know much about watches. I would have respected your opinion more if you actually looked at the craftsmanship and the movements. I own 2 and they are fine watches that are reasonably priced if you shop around. No need to pay list.

I'm glad no one cares about them. I love their looks, and I don't have to worry about them selling out before I can get the one I want. I'm that weird kid that likes to eat the celery in the party platter.

I bought a Raymond Weil automatic for my wife and the bracelet feels better quality than my Rolex. Very well made watch. 10 years on, still accurate ands looks great.

My boyfriend gave me a Raymond Weil for Christmas in the 2006, it is the Saint Giovanni in silver tone with 70 diamonds, everyone loves my watch every time I wear it, never had any issues, keeps the time accurately, it is 2024 and it still looks stunning and works perfect. I want to buy the Toccana model that RW has in gold with 60 diamonds, they are the most elegant watches and great performance in my opinion. The best watch for ladies, I highly recommend Raymond Weil.

I recently bought the Raymond Weil 28371-X591980 Maestro. It has a proprietary RW4200 caliber and the watch is simply AWESOME.

I bought my wife a Raymond Weil quartz in 1995. Still working perfectly. The dial hands and hour markers still as new.

Here in Singapore back in the late 70s and 80s, they used to announce the time on TV before the news came on and it was always "time, by Raymond Weil".

I have two. A Freelancer day/date that I bought new in 2008 and (currently wearing) a Don Giovanni silver dial with small subseconds. I love them both. I've seen a lot of unimpressive designs from RW on the web, but in the stores they present a much nicer selection.

My opinion is that Raymond Weil makes great quality watches. I have in total bought 3 Raymond Weils. One Freelancer Chrono 7740 with black dial, one Freelancer Diver in black and one Maestro Moonphase with silver dial. All gorgeous watches. The Chrono is still in my collection and is a Great watch. I changed the strap to RWs jubilee bracelet which is also of great quality. Had my chrono checked on a timegraph after owning it for two years and it peformed just as well as a Rolex grunning at 0 s/day. The Maestro was a gift for my father, a gorgeous watch. The Diver is a watch I regret selling, a stunning watch. Had it on the original rubber strap, comfy on the wrist and easy to adjust the strap size with no cutting needed. Would not call it a Rolex homage, two different watches. Did not make me think of a Rolex Sub when I had it on my arm. A superb watch. I would agree on two things: 1. Some of their watches has what i would call bad design, but I think specially the Freelancer collections should get more attention than it does and the new Millesime collection. 2. The sizes should get closer to 40 mm, specially the Freelancer collection. 43,5 mm on the Chrono is a big watch. Works on my wirst, but knocking of a couple mm would make the sizes more wearable.

I have a RW Parsifal Auto Chrono that I bought second hand for $500. Its quickly become one of my favorite watches. Its also 39mm in size, just perfect

It was the first watch i bought with the first salary i earned in 2002. The model i have is a tango chronograph. Its very popular in the middle east , specially Saudi Arabia, and its considered the first entry level to luxury watches. They compete head to head with Tissot and Mido there. 😊

I like the brand. You can find them on EBay for under $1000 and they are good quality. I Lean towards their dress watches.

I wear a Raymond Weil Parsifal 9190, gold face. Everyone's different, but it appeals to me. Got it new in 1994, still looks as beautiful 30 years later. It's understated elegance. Keeps perfect time.

I think your criticisms are fair. I have a Maestro small second, silver dial with blue hands, 39 mm. Not for everyone, but I love it.

Raymond Weil actually worked at Camy Watch Company from 1949 to 1976. I believe he was eventually the general manager of Camy. I have the Freelancer Diver. Solid build both case and bracelet. Right tolerances, has not missed a beat

I have a Raymond Weil Maestro automatic in rose gold on a leather strap. It's a beautiful, smaller dress watch with quality materials and much sentemental value to me. It will be in my forever collection for sure.

I own 2 and quite like what they bring to the table at their pricepoint. A blue "dress" diver and a green open heart dress piece. Both purchased second hand and under half retail $. They fit nicely in my collection of over 220+ watches that range from Timex to Rolex. Certainly above the level of fashion watches but as entry level Swiss.... perfect!

I have the Raymond Weil Tango 5381. It was second watch after the SARB033. my collection has now ballooned to include a Submariner, Santos and a datejust. But i still wear my RW often.

I completely agree with most points. I don't consider anything over 40mm, and their designs are usually on the safe side. Although I did own a RW Maestro with the spiral design center. In hand, you can tell it's very well-made and had the nicest bracelet of any watch I've ever owned.

I own a Raymond Weil freelance diver. Total transparency. I only bought it because it was at a liquidation place for about a third of its original price. That said. I love the thing. It has an enamel dial. A very thin rehaut and the Christal just disappears. The clasp blends in smooth with the five link bracelet. It really does feel like a quality piece. I also have a 7 1/2 inch wrist so the six is fine by me. The indexes are extremely well done and play with light amazingly. It really feels like a high end piece. Anyway. I get your points and don’t disagree with you but maybe get your hands on one. I think you will see

Must be tough to be a new watch brand when people shit on your product because everything has been done (design-wise). I won't buy a RW as I don't like their designs, but telling people to go to another brand is a bit uncool in my humble opinion. It's like telling people to go watch Teddy Baldassarre because his channel is more professional looking. We all have the right to our opinion and I do respect TT's point of view even if I don't agree with some of the delivery.

They were pretty big in the late 80s and early 90s. I have one in a box somewhere. Apparently it has a porcelain dial and someone in their brilliance tried to clean it and the paint for the markers smeared a little bit. That put me off in it initially, but I've been thinking about digging it out, putting a strap on it and rocking it as is. I appreciate patina and blemishes more now than when I got it. 😋

I bought a secondhand, Don Giovanni from the early 2000s. It’s automatic, 50 mm, GMT with black aligator straps. I have larger hands and it really pops. Got it cheap and recently sent it in to get it to factory specs. It’s one of my favorite watches. I like their vintage selections much more than their newer offerings

My very first mechanical automatic timepiece - the Freelancer Urban Black chronograph. It houses an ETA Valjoux movement with a visible caseback. Basically, this piece got me interested in mechanical watches. It retailed for over $3K. This was 5-6 years ago, so quite pricey during that time. Interestingly, I was able to finnagle a ~30% discount when I purchased it. But then, a couple of years ago, I was taken aback when Costco had it for sale for around $900. It's a decent watch. Syncing it to NIST time requires a gentle touch - the minute hand advances forward if the crown is pushed in aggressively. I don't wear it much but it's still a keeper. It's what got me started in this crazy, expensive hobby.

I have a quartz Tango chronograph and a quartz Longines Hydroconquest. The Tango is better made in every way, it has a better bracelet, it has better finishing, it has a better dial and lume, and it costs less than the Hydroconquest. The only thing Longines wins is a higher brand level

I have R.W. Chronograph watch, it’s 12 years old but still ticking away as good as new! Solid performance

I recently bought the Tango GMT diver with the black dial and Pepsi bezel, just like the one you show in the video. I didn’t have a Pepsi diver and had been wanting one to add to my modest collection. This is a very nice watch, very high quality especially for what I paid. I purchased it from a watch store here in Colorado from their previously owned section for 700.00. They also had it new for 1,300.00. The used one I bought showed no signs of it being worn at all, so it was a super deal. Hands down the best watch I own.

What quartz movement so they use..I have one over 25 years..parsifal...lovely watch...Still keeps perfect time...just want to know if the quartz movement in it is a cheap or high end quartz.

I have one of their blue freelance divers on their blue rubber straps that’s made specifically for that watch, which I’ve had for about three years now and i love it. My only nit-pick is that the clasp on the strap feels very cheap and plastic compared to the rest of the watch. Not a big deal and you adjust quickly but yeah at first I really noticed the lack of quality in that one part of the watch compared to the otherwise very well built watch for the price. If you get that watch on their jubilee bracelet though it becomes pretty heavy and you really feel like you have a big boy on your wrist. Overall I’m very happy with my Raymond Weil freelancer diver. Great video btw. Keep up the great content.

I have a raymond freelancer skeleton and honestly its the most beautiful watch i own

I own a 29 yo dress Raymond Weil with corne de vache lugs in 35mm and a 41mm Parsifal which was their take in the integrated bracelet design in the 90's. They did a re-issue in 2019 which I own. They are pricey, yes, but you can really see where the money goes. The crystal and AR is breitling like, the bracelet and case finishing is really good. This millesine collection is probably the best they launched so far.

I bought a RW freelancer open balance from Macy's last year. They had a 1 day sale and it was half price. I really like it. The bracelet is comfortable no hair pinching. I like how the black dial looks blue in certain light. I like it a lot. Very well made

My first (late) wife bought me a RW Parsifal quartz that I wore for 12 years. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Then my current wife bought me a Blancpain Leman flyback chronograph and my head exploded!

My first automatic watch was a RW freelancer 7730BK. The year was 2013 and I chose it because of price and design, it has chronograph and open back case. That was awesome for me at the time and really significant. Until now, 10 years later, its working perfectly. Actually im just having trouble finding a dealer in Brazil to help me change the strapp.

I have a tango chrono 4891, it was my first Swiss watch, I now have a number of premium brands and the RW is up there with the best of them in my opinion.

They pop up in auctions, and for the right price they are good value. I have one from the early eighties (ultra thine) still works. RW were everywhere in the late seventies and eighties, and people my age (60’s) came across them at our prime… so they are in our memory bank

I have a two-tone RW Parfisal GMT Worldtime from the early 2000. Great looking dial, super thin, with a (at the time) COSC ETA movement. Definitely unlike anything they sell these days, which is why I love it.

I've got a 2001 Raymond weil tango 5560 quartz and a 2014 Raymond weil maestro sw200 powered and I adore both I think the quality and attention to detail is right up there with the top dogs

I've got the steel bezel sports watch with rubber strap. It was my first swiss watch, bought back in 2005. Its still going perfectly and gets worn more than my Rolex DJ, my Breitling, my IWC or my Omega. It's a great all round watch and looks lovely. It's a unique ish design and it looks like they retired it. Perhaps foolishly. Their new moon phase looks very nice too

I wear a Raymond Weil tradition wita an ETA 2834 automatic movement gold plate with a display back and a saphire crystal 36mm - its just classy and cost me a couple of hundred quid or so second hand - still a few out there - its a lot for very little money

I have owned RW watches starting from the early 1980's to the present day in a plethora of iterations. And I can readily attest to the set fact that, I have always enjoyed (and still do) wearing their extremely well crafted, aesthetically pleasing timepieces for any and all occasions. However, to each their own. And that adage of course, could apply to any one of the hundreds of brands out there.

Great points. I think Eterna and Baume share some of these issues. Mostly large dressy watches that become difficult to tell apart (for the average person). Montblanc also comes to mind. FC used to be similar (younger than RW) but they have managed to successfully differentiate themselves from the pack.

Great vid! I’ve had the skeleton Maestro for six years. It uses the same skeletonized SW200 movement as the Oris Artelier. However, the RW has blued hands, indices, and screws; along with perlaged bridges Oris doesn’t. Basic decoration, yes, but for the same price or maybe even a little less, as the Oris Artelier I thought the RW was a better value. The sw200 keeps great time too, six years no problems. I know you’re not into skeletons but happy to send it in for a review.

I own maestro and that was the only watch brand I could find that had Roman numerals and clean design , it’s also a 39 mm case .

I literally bought the watch to where while at the beach playing in the water. Love the black dial and white hands are easy to read in the water. Automatic movement works well. Great valve!

I bought a Raymond Weil Tango around the year 2000. I got it retail at a significant discount. This many years later I don’t wear it much, I moved on to Casios which suit my life style better now.

I have the silver dial freelancer open heart that I got on the leather from my wife when we got engaged. I put it on a staib mesh bracelet. It’s great quality and I personally think it’s pretty uniquely styled, but I couldn’t imagine buying another watch from their collection as their catalogue is pretty blah as you said. Finishing, caliber, build are all great but the size is a big gripe for me, as it’s supposed to be on the dressy side but it has sports watch dimensions. As I said I put it on a mesh and rock it as a dressy-casual hybrid- have gotten compliments on it because the open heart style and finishing on the balance is truly great. at times I do wish I could wear it as a dress watch but it is too big imo. That said, it has a lot of sentimental value and I appreciate it for that aspect regardless of the above and wear it a lot.

I bought my women’s RW Don Giovanni with the MOP face and diamond markers new in 2009 and I’ve worn the hell out of it year after year. It’s 2024 and this watch keeps great time, looks beautiful and feels great on the wrist. I paid $1,100 for it. I don’t know how someone who considers himself a watch expert can criticize such an excellent brand. I would absolutely buy another RW and would recommend this brand to my family and friends.

GS has production of only 45k watches per year,way less than Patek or Vacheron yet GS became massively popular especially in Asia and USA. Raymond Weil Millesime model won GPHG last year so now they really have some cachet!!!

I remember looking at an earlier version of their now discontinued Parfisal series and thinking it was really nice. It was two tone automatic movement and I believe the gold on the watch was real (not capped or plated), it was a nice watch but, I was really saving for and desiring a two tone 36mm datejust which I ended up eventually buying and afterwards never considered another Raymond Weil since.

I bought a first series Maestro Beatles tribute model at a pawn shop a few years ago for less than half the retail price at the time. I've been pretty happy with it, but that's probably the only one I'll buy. I think it has an in-house (auto) movement. I haven't seen anything else that I like in their catalog, and it looks like there's a second series Beatles tribute model, along with other band tribute models now.

I have a small ladies Raymond Weil that my husband bought me about 15years ago and I love it. It is very dressy with diamonds and two toned. I personally prefer Quartz because I don't wear my Jewlery when I am working around the house. This is my perfect travel watch. I have two Tag Heuers also .

I own one - a quartz chronograph. It passed down to me after my dad passed away. I only wear it sometimes for sentimental reasons. I told him he should have bought a Tissot when he bought it.

I still have a 33mm Fidelio dress watch I bought in 1993. It's a nice watch and wasn't considered small at that time. Interesting to hear they're now mostly making big watches.

I have the rectangular Don Giovanni watch. I enjoy it because it was attainable without breaking the bank and it has Swiss parts and an ETA. Also conforms nicely to the wrist because of slight curvature.

Bought a Raymond Weil Tango in New York in 2009 - still looks great now. The fact they're not popular is why I like them. I don't want a Tag or a Rolex which are really common.

I've been surfing for a skeleton watch for quite some time and noticed for me, a visible open spring barrel and balance wheel, easy readable hands is on my wishlist. The RW Freelancer skeleton caught my attention but the Rado Skeleton and Epos range as well. The only reason to cancel out a RW was the gears do have visible burrs unlike the polished gears of Epos and to me an Epos seems to be a way better value but it's quite a bit cheaper as well. And Epos has heritage but does not balance this in price IMO. I do have some recent Vostok Europe watches (new in house designer) I'm very keen on now and forgot about the skeletons LOL!!

I had the freelancer chronograph 10 years ago, spent more time at the factory than on my wrist. The last time they repaired it I picked it up from the dealer, put it on my wrist and when I pushed open the door to leave it fell off! Hadn't fitted the strap correctly so back it went...again...

I’ve owned a Tango for the last 20 years. Yeah, it’s a stainless steel quartz and maybe cost more than a comparable Seiko, but it looks great to my eye and has been fantastic all that time. As for size, it’s 38mm so well under your cited “average”. Granted , you don’t seem like the kind of guy who understands mathematical concepts like average (or mean), median and mode so maybe you meant mode (e.g. the most common size you are seeing is say 42mm). If so, then that one point is valid. But, why do they have to make the quantities like Omega or Rolex to be a good brand? There are many small brands emerging recently. Are they all suspect too? Just be honest and say this is the opinion of some random dude on KZfaq, not a watch manufacturing professional. That fact that I like mine and bought a RW for my wife since she doesn’t like the masculine style of those other traditional manufacturers, doesn’t mean anyone else should follow my particular tastes. I’ll focus on people who review for quality and production values relative to costs.

I've got the Raymond Weil 5325 18k gold plated and it is actually pretty unique. It does kinda remind of vintage Cartier but then it is also quite different and catches attention!

I have two RWs. I bought a Tango(a Rolex Submariner homage) in 1996 and a Parsifal( Cartier tank homage) in 2007. Being old, they are small. The Tango is 34mm. I like smallish watches. I have bought more watches over the past twenty years or so, but the Tango was my only nice watch for a long time and got a lot of wear time. It still does when I am in a rush and don't have the time to set a watch. The Parsifal is only for weddings and such. They are both stainless and heavy. I like that. The newer ones are too big. When they came out with an automatic fifteen or so years ago, I wanted one, but due to cost I went with a Hamilton Khaki. I am retired now and their whole catalog is out of reach. A shame.

I have a RW tango quartz that I got as a gift a while back as part of a reward program at work. I like it - I travel with it and wear it as a business casual beater for work. It's been reliable and it serves its purpose.

I have a Parsifal tank on a steel strap, really nice dress watch, just wish i had more weddings to go to so i could wear it more

I love my Raymond Weil Freelancer Diver in Black with a Ceramic Bezel. It has a sellita but it feels better than all the Microbrand stuff ive held and i got it for a steal on Shopworn now known as Thesolist. It feels way better than the Longines hydroconquest or the Oris Aquis ive handled.

Wearing my silver dial maestro on a grey nato as we speak. Its my slightly dressy alternative to a Hamilton khaki field with a better movement [their in house movement is an modified sellita sw200.] The dial is a stunning 3 tiered staggered layout that is both beautiful and understated. Great watch that i got at a great price. You might be asking why not just wear a khaki field? Bc i have had one and this watch has better case finishing, is both automatic and hand wound (compared to the Hamilton being hand wound at the price you can get them both it low $400) and the the silver dial maestrob also doubles as my dress watch when needed by simply putting it on a leather strap). [Also everyone has a khaki field. Not everyone has one of these.]

I own a freelancer chronograph - one of the newer ones: 7741 - and I have to say that I love it. The design isn't as unique as their millesime watches, but it certainly is unique enough that it won't be confused for some knock-off daytona. I have a larger wrist at about 7.5 inches so the watch wears perfectly on me. Overall, I don't really have anything negative to say, it's a great watch that's fun to look at in all lightings!

I have two of them, one a small gold plated quartz tank with a sapphire jeweled crown I bought in the 80's and an octagonal gold manual wind with another sapphire jeweled crown that I purchased on eBay. Both are very elegant, both on the smaller size and I love them. But you're right, the watches you showed on the video were too large for my wrist and quite uninspired.

I have a gold coloured saxo automatic chronograph, awesome watch very hard to get nowadays, never let's me down only wear it on special occasions. Will get it serviced soon as its never had one done it all the years I've had it .

Met a rep at a watch show a day after they won the award. I got to see the other colors of the award winning watch and it was nice, the guy was very informative. Not sure how they are going to go up the ladder - but it will be interesting to see

Bought one as a present 20 years ago and sometimes google them. Easy to find in UK jewellers. Alpina have the same problem with too much stuff over 40mm.

I have a Raymond Weil Maestro Automatic moon phase watch (model 2879-STC-65001) with a black leather strap. It is 39.5 mm case diameter, and it looks good on me with a 6.75" wrist.

I had a Parsifal with gray dial. I loved that watch which i bought for 600 euros at the time and I sold it for around the same price in an emergency. I didn´t know much about watch brands at the time but now I am kind of missing it. It had a blueish tint on the glass when light was reflected on it and it felt well made. Now I thought of looking for one and they cost 1000 euros and for that money I don´t feel like justifying it when I could get an used omega for a little more. Still, for 500 i would love to buy it again.

Bought a Maestro Moonphase for my wife last year with a Mother of Pearl dial and diamond dot markers. Pretty good value to be honest and looks great. With the mens watches some of them half catch my eye, like the freelancer chronograph bi-compax. But it's a fleeting glimpse and I'm on to something else. That millesime line is pretty cool though 👍

They look fine to me, and they're 60-66% off at one of the big greymarket sites during their January sale. They have models 36-39 mm, too.

Funny you bring this brand up: the last time I thought very much about RW is back in the early 1990s, when I bought for my then-GF a rather-petite Tank-style quartz watch with mother-of-pearl dial, which if memory serves was somewhere North of $400. (She got me an ETA-auto-powered Hamilton Atlantis II diver, which I sorta wish I'd held onto…long story, like we all have.) RW's *big* problem to me is the one you listed last: no central identity. Their model lines are pretty scattershot, unlike brands like Hamilton, Seiko…hell, even Tissot, as much as people are kind of dumping on them now for their PRX-fixation.

Unfortunately my first luxury watch was a Raymond well stainless steel Don Giovanni on a bracelet and unfortunately I didn't know any better and I ended up with a quartz one but I've had it for many many years and it's actually a really nice watch aside from the fact that it's quartz
