I created a video about not having friends and 3 steps I took to dealing with the loneliness. It's gotten so many comments from people who feel like they haven't got any friends that I wanted to created this video to go a little deeper.
In this video, I explain why not having friends was actually a good thing for me.
Here's the other video if you want to watch it: • "I have no friends": 3...

And most importantly, here's the relationships video by the shaman Rudá Iandê which helped me to see that the relationship I have with myself is the most important relationship of all: thevessel.io/healthy-relation...

Sometimes I wonder if I stopped texting, arranging plans and calling my friends, would they ever contact me? And that's how I arrived at this video. Learning to stop making friends the center of my life.

I stopped trying to make plans with mine and it sucked and hurt so bad when they didn’t contact or want to continue friendships but I’m way better off iv been four years without friends and I learned to love myself and realized that I was very codependent on them to make me happy but the first year alone was the hardest but in the long run it’s better for you keep your head up if they are your friends they will continue the friendship if not they where never really your friends

@@Quball87o dependent because people like him usually have an idea in mind that happiness can only come if you hangout with friends or have amazing plans, but he realised that that was not correct and could have a good time just by himself. So could you not ruin others days and peaceful philosophies by commenting things like this video just because you have nothing else better to do in life ? Because its not that hard to understand what he meant unless you're like really really stupid yk

The best friends are the ones that are low maintenance, and don't bug you for rides and money. Friends that you can just kick ideas, concepts, and humor with periodically. A lot of people tend to tax their friendships to the point of being a burden.

Facts brother 💯. I'm done with figuring out that people really don't care and are fine stabbing you in the back or will stand there and watch you get stabbed in the back. I've just been stabbed to many times now I think im completely done with people taking advantage of me🧱🏰🧱. Went through alot of shit just to have friends because I didn't as a child. Now I feel its a choice to be alone. I can protect myself better without people behind me I don't trust anyone.

A real friend is you and not others. Friends come and go and you are the only friend you will have until you die. So, make best friends with yourself and not others. Eventually, they will all leave whether you like it or not, and often times they will betray you and hurt you in many ways. I know because I have gone through this many times in my life. I thought they were my true friends but boy was I wrong. But I am not saying you should be isolated and live a lonely life and not interact with others but you really don't need a "friend" to live a happy life if you are really happy with yourself just like Justin says in this video. Cheers~

I have been thinking about this a lot recently. My childhood was very similar to the one described in the video but in my teenage years I forced myself to have friends. And I am goona tell you how difficult it was. I wasn''t being productive, we would complain with our friends and have this victim mentality.I was taking and giving negative energy and it was like a loop of toxity. Now that I ve grown up I realized that we should not be invested too much in people otherwise we would lose our vision and goals in life and is so frustrating. Also I am stronger since I've endured all the difficulties on my own and it's such a confidence booster when you don't rely on anyone but are able to solve your own problem and enjoy who you are.

Hello. everything you named is everything I came to and also strived for. I can say that most of the time I need solitude, but it’s not loneliness. I don’t experience absolutely any negative thoughts about this, but rather the opposite, because I absolutely need it. I sometimes like to just sit and think and reflect on things. Through reasoning within myself, I discovered a lot for myself personally and understood a lot. I love it especially when revelations happen and you get another piece of the puzzle and see the picture even more complete. I never wanted to be with the majority, and even more so now. I have always strived for freedom, but not for the material one that everyone is chasing after, but for the inner one, which is something magical for me.

The challenge is the same old conversations about life. Yes, there are current events to discuss, or a book, movie, sports, show to talk about, but ultimately it's all repeated conversations w/ different people, and it doesn't matter the age range. And when you reconnect w/ friends it's like if you have nothing new or exciting going on, they revert back to discussing irrelevant past conversations that have expired. It's hard to keep it all fresh and exciting...

I also have the same dreadful mind picture. I think that for retaining the strength of a friendship, both sides needs to be proactive and take responsibility if they lack effort (finding new hobbies, ordinary hello check, inviting and organizing meetings, trips with other groops etc..) in replenishing the good vibes with whoever we feel closely connected to. P. S In my life I am greatful to have the example of such a connection even if it's only one - we are not really santimental about it - but what mattered the most for it to last 8 yeara, imo was the occasional hit me up if so and so from both of us.

I find that most friends can be jealous or envious or expect that you do all the work (making plans, etc) or expect that you share their political opinions without respectful debate. One question to ask after being with a friend: do I feel contracted or expanded?

i was miserable with friends, then i lost them, and i was alone for almost two years. the first half of that i was happier and more content and relaxed, the second half it felt just it had before and i was miserable. i literally gave up on people in its entirety. but then i decided i shouldn’t give up, and i should try again. i’m the type who’s very shy and difficult to make new friends, but i pushed and pushed and pushed through that until i gain new ones. now i’m starting to think i just thought i had new ones. people who care about you truly will listen to your problems and try to help you through them, if they care you are not a bother at all. i always feel like i’m bugging others though. i’m ready to give up on people again

You are definitely not alone. I went through ovarian cancer as a single mom and nobody cared. Not my family, not any friends, acquaintances, no one. And I have a huge family on both sides. Like .. what the heck is going on. In a situation like that it's really hard cause if they don't care if you live or die, you feel like you're worth nothing. So you're definitely not alone experiencing this.

I am 11 turning 12 this year and I have no friends. I am an introvert so talking to people is not my thing. I also have trust issues so thinking that I would get back stabbed or get killed gets me worried. After watching this video, I notice that having no friends improves my self esteem and makes me worried less. I feel much happier without friends and feel like I can keep a lot of stuff to my self without telling anyone. I will be starting school next year, (middle school pacifically), which I hate because I have to be around I don’t know and the high amounts of school shootings going around that scares me. I hope I can survived middle school without socializing with other people I don’t know. Also, I still plan to not make any friends because I find it useless to me since my luck with it is bad because they move or leave me so that’s why I gave up. Anyways, thank you for this video and have a nice day. 😊

So: this is something I’ve struggled with a lot myself. Sometimes I wished I had more friends to hang out with and have fun, but sometimes I like the flexibility and freedoms of being alone To me I realized: it’s best to have a balance, but to not feel completely empty without friends and socializing. This can still be good, but I believe the biggest source of happiness should be done solo cause you have 100% control of it But I strongly agree forced friendships are really bad. At the end: I think we just need to figure out the best balance. But that’s based on the individuals decision / comfort

People who move often since they are young experience what you did as a kid and as an adult. Although it can be painful it’s usually based out of contrast of observing others laughing and doing activities. As one gets older it’s eat to realize that there’s a huge strength we develop by being alone - also we are able to if we create a connection with someone to establish healthy boundaries as opposed to being desperate for a person. At the end of the day once we learn this it truly frees you from the continuos search for needing someone else to make you happy. Your thoughts are spot on!!!

This video is so true. I can really relate to it with similar experiences. I've always found it fairly easy to make friends but not easy to know where I "fit" and still feeling like an outsider in new situations. But similarly to you I also am going on the path to see the benefits of loneliness and being on the "outside" and how it can actually lead to more sharing with others, relating to the world and growing as a person internally. I think in relationships like you said can be similar that if we feel whole ourselves first we're more ready for something real and lasting. I used to be certain I was missing out in so many ways, especially on the multiple deep long relationships others seemed to have around me. Now looking at others who go through many relationships - not that I can fully judge from the outside - I can see how in certain ways they may have not really gotten to know themselves first and been comfortable being alone, and the relationships might have been toxic and frustrating... Great video

I've experienced anxiety for many years and found myself struggling with expressing my own opinions and beliefs as this may lead to conflict. Consequently this may cause issues within the friendship eventually leading to that friend deserting you, the textbook "people pleaser" I'm not perfect by any means however now I concentrate on myself and do things that make happy. Realising now I don't need that constant validation from other people

Similar school experiences but ours were all over the world in different countries and I think that’s a huge reason why much of my life has felt better/safer in solitude… I am mostly comfortable with solitude as I never want for things to do, but lately I’ve found an overwhelming feeling of chronic fatigue has limited those fun things I did on my own to lift my spirits. I’m not sure if this is depression or due to my medical issues but I’ve realised that my “loneliness” only becomes a problem when I’m not feeling well…

It’s really strange when I don’t feel connection with anybody. I am getting used to it and I don’t force myself anymore to feel different to run away from loneliness. It’s very difficult for me to feel real connection with people.

This is crazy. I stumbled on this video. You are polar opposites with reference to location, ethnicity, race, et Al. But you are speaking, articulating … describing my journey … in short ME!!

All these comments prove that while yes ppl may want to unplug from a close physical friendship the spiritual need for friendly communication never leaves.. God CREATED us to desire companionship at least to some capacity.

I love a friend if they are a good perfect person- if not- I run a mile. Life is too short. My son is comfortable, he is 43, never married, and good looking, but enjoys his own company, and socialises with work mates. But comfortable on his own.

Trying Is the key word here. If you are trying..to make friends, your aren’t being true to yourself. I’ve had friends in my life, but the only time I can be truly myself is only when I’m by myself in nature. I don’t have to pretend, I don’t have to force. I can just breathe in and enjoy the view.

I said this before on other occasions, if you really want a true friend, a friend that would die for you should the occasion arise, get a dog that suits your personality.

I remember back in high school I never was invited to any parties or anything and I always felt left out and to make a short story short same with elementary school I was picked on yada yada yada never had too many friends. A couple but those friendships ended and I always kind of felt bummed out so it took me a little bit as cold as it sounds I don't want friends because why waste my time with them it's just like having to get into a relationship it's just going to end did you know all breakups happen because you get into a relationship but after a while I find myself to be a little bit happy on my own maybe I'm just used to it I don't know

Excellent video. What are real friends? Something I have pondered quite a bit. When I have been at the height of my life financially friends are easy to come by. Now i'm in a different section of my life much more spiritually fit and I find that friends are very fickle. In fact friends are overrated. Books are my friends

Hampstead Heath? I thought you were australian. I am an introvert so alone time is super precious to me. I still have a few friends but I am working on boundaries with them. Birthday house parties annoy me the most 😅😅😅

I always had friends, even friends for 45 years. When I went through my spiritual awakening, they all dissapeared. I am fine, and actually love being alone , but not really alone I have the Great Divine, King Yeshua, Holy Spirit, and all the angels and unerverse with me. 😊❤🙏

I think 18 can be a little confusing of an age; not a kid anymore and yet not quite an adult either, especially if you haven't been very well equipt to "fly the coupe". It can be kind of scary. But 18 means you have a whole lifetime ahead of you to figure out who you are (what you like and don't like - what "floats your boat") and where you want to be. I don't think the point of this video is to accept 'solitary confinement" - being alone and without friends so much as learning to love and value yourself so that you *can* have (*meaningful*) relationships. We all need people.
