I remember when I discovered this game in 2007. I was 11. I ran the demo version for a year. 11 cars per race and only 2 tracks. But I had so much fun doing it. I eventually attempted to look up how I could obtain the full version for free and to my surprise, it was possible. So I did it. And I was hooked for years. This game got me through some hard times. It was therapeutic. I'll never forget launching the game and seeing the papyrus intro and loading into Daytona with all 43 cars. It was an incredible feeling to have the full game. I wish I could go back in time and relive that experience

If it wasn't the EA buy out, Nr2003 would be way better.

+1 about the replays. I made my review on steam for F1 2020 and I wrote in it that replays suck. You should mention you can see the replay entirely after your multihour race, navigate at any point in time almost instantly and save any part you want, so you can watch it later and even do some editing

It was Awesome! I have many memories with that racing genre from 1999 through to the end. I have never forgiven EA for what they did. What they replaced it with really sucked! Most expensive beer coasters I own! iRacing has come along and filled that void. Thank you iRacing! Thank you for the video!

This game is WAYYYYY ahead of it’s time. I cannot imagine what we would’ve had if Papyrus had the official NASCAR license.

My claim to fame is that I've beaten both Jr and Truex back in 2005 or 06 at Darlington in a league race, I can't prove it of course, replays are long since gone (Edit, might actually have been on a Sierra open server race). Raced daily on OSW and in a few leagues from 2004 to maybe 2010 and raced all the mention Cup drivers many times. Fantastic times on Ventrilo servers as a European with all the Americans, loved it.

I would be if the community decided to make full carsets of previous cup seasons, some where close like 2013 and 2014. I think today with the amount of logos and uptaded resourses i think it "could be possible".

I spent many hours racing NR2003 when it first came out both online in 3 private leagues and offline. Over the years, many new tracks and cars were made for the game. It is still the best realistic operating races today, as you say, other than IRacing. NR2003 graphics are crude for both tracks and cars, but the racing is allot of fun. I have one mod loaded to also do Indycar. There is a limit on how many tracks at one time can be installed into the game. I helped with someone else develop a few small things/mods for the game. I have this game installed on my Windows 10 PC and works great. Hopefully IRacing will develop that 2025 Nascar game for the PC to meet allot of what NR2003 game did many years ago. We shall see in 2025 what this new game will bring to the table. The newer Nascar games except for IRacing are Terrible. Right now I use RFactor 2 for both Nascar and Indycar and is the closest to get to NR2003 for right now. I have majority of the Ovals and road tracks to do a complete series for the RFactor 2 game. I am afraid no sim will ever do all this again. My wife actually painted a car for me with my Company logo! Online leagues were so much fun. Those were good times.

Great video. I used to be a V8 ThUNDER online NR2003 racer, now I prefer offline against the AI. Just built a new super PC and the first sim I have installed and modded is my old NR2003. Love it. I purchased NR2003 when it was released. But I have been sim racing on a pc since 1990.

I haven't played this game since I was a kid and had to download it. It's crazy what mods can do! Definitely better then any nascar game we've gotten in a long while.

Anywhere to get help with the mods for this game? I have it on my computer, but of course it looks nothing like this!

I still play the crap out of this game, but Iracing nascar is better then nr2003 right now
