I’ve always loved this man’s humility and genius. He is in Heaven, definitely. Thank you for this great presentation!

He was dosed. And broken. Such a sadly familiar story around this time that happened to so many people, its just we knew who PG was.

“If somebody spikes you, your not going to be making the most spiritual music of your life” is an incorrect statement. Peter was NOT spiked in Munich he was used to dropping acid on stage and voluntarily dropped in Munic. After Munic Peter would record The End of The Game which is one of the most spiritual albums i have ever heard and one of the greatest psychadelic albums ever recorder. Peter has stated in a video interview that he and the band drank LSD infused champaign before they recorded the album. Drugs like acid and marijuana can help you connect spiritually to the creative force behind music. Coltrane, miles, hendrix, garcia, santana….the list goes on…they all dropped and it enhanced their music/spiritual connection.

After 1970 he became a shadow of his former self (a brilliant musician/songwriter). So very sad. We must continue to treasure his contribution to music in those early years.

The way he describes it all at the time though, it sounds so reasonable and astute to me today. I’m not saying he wasn’t mentally very poorly, but it all made a lot of sense; you had to be a bit of a git to survive in the music business in those days and keep it t going through the 70s and 80s. The Stones, Clapton… a lot of those acts had to reinvent themselves constantly to fit in with ‘pop’ music and keep their places at the top. They weren’t afraid of stepping on people in the process either. Peter wasn’t about that and I admire that massively - it wasn’t just his music that has a sincerity and honesty that was absolutely unrivalled.

Peter Green exhibit a direct connection between his hands, heart, his fingers and a higher power. Peter felt that the group was depending on his song writing too much. Peter told Danny Kerwan that he is responsible for half of the "Then Play On" LP. Danny paid little time writing or the band rehearsing because the group knew that Peter would deliver even if it meant writing ,playing , recording and singing. Unless Peter called a rehearsal the band sat around, this was a major disappointment to Peter. He had outgrown the band. Peter put his pain into his songs and Peter felt he could no longer suffer the pain the it too to put his life to words "something I wish I hadn't been born". Peter was a giver and the band had no problem taking advantage of his shills. Peter would no complain so he left. Great inside info on Peter and the fact that it was not the Munic incident that ended Fleetwood Mac. Bless the Green God.

Its always a great shame when people get ill like that ,what a musician he was always humble ,he got caught up with a dodgy german couple ,they where busy scaming many wealthy people at the time,

Peter Green was so talented and sensible. What a shame to have witnessed his descent to hell. He had a nice come back with Splinter group, but never really was the same, but for his great voice. Thanks for this piece of PG story Ramon. Cheers Rene

Why is it mental illness to not want to be rich? Peter Green, the finest English blues guitar man was, is, and will always be part of something better than the rat race.

I’ve always only known the later incarnation of Fleetwood Mac even though I was aware of Peter’s era of the band. I was heretofore unaware of these things about him. I am very impressed with this glimpse his heart. I will try to find and listen to his music.

Interesting to hear this in Peters words. I had the privilege to meet Peter in 16 and we became friends. One of his best friends came and lived with me in 1971 for a year, Nigel Watson. Nigel brought two of Peters guitars with him to Boston where we lived. One was Peters 1957 Strat and the other was his Dobro. the exact one in this picture on this KZfaq video. I owned a 1959 Sunburst, we had PETER'S Dobro and StRATt aAND A 1960 BLACK BEAUTY Les Paul WOW
