funny how you made mention of Sportings CB Sebastián Coates, because he is an ex Liverpool player. didnt have the same career as Virg but maybe we should of kept him as hes had a pretty damn good career afterwoods.

Great video (Sporting fan here). Just want to say that when Amorim play with an advanced wing back, he likes to play with a defensive one on the other side. For example, in Sporting we barely see Nuno Santos (left wb) playing at the same time as Catamo (right wb). I don't want to lose Amorim, he is responsible for bringing back glory to Sporting. But if we lose him I hope it is to Liverpool, not other club 😢

And about midfield, you probably will have to sell some guys. Amorim is known for liking short teams (we have only 4 midfielders at Sporting)

Idk if he’ll fit the system but I think Ait-nouri would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool. Especially as he’s best as a wingback.

I really think they flip it, complete 180 with it. Luis Diaz as your Edwards but on the left, Szoboszlai on the right as your Pedro Goncalves. I see you's sign someone like David Hancko from Feyenoord for that left CB. Need someone to take that starting spot over on Endo too to allow him to be part time, maybe Palinha from Fulham? Both former sporting....

Nice video! You managed to surprise me by claiming Carvalho will come back and get a lot of playing time. I thought his Anfield days were numbered, will be interesting to see if a new manager will revive him! Also I think Tsimikas would be better suited to play wing back than full back. Although he is obviousy not the first choice.

I think its also worth considering that, if Salah is injured or absent or being rested, the two wide forwards could switch role, which woule mean you could play Elliott as a wide inside playmaker on the right and have Diaz/Gakpo as inside forward on the left.

I think Gravenberch will be a box to box, which might be suitable for the left mid. a Secundo Volante. Up to you to decide. He can also be a defensive midfielder, the Endo kind of role, although I like to think he is more going forward one...

On Trent he has gone record, even recently, saying that he sees himself affecting games from the middle, whether he starts there or inverts into the system. Trent does not want to play as that wing-back/traditional full-black. Trent is a huge conundrum.

I agree, everyone has their preferred tactic but at least to begin with you have to work with what you've got and we've got szob, Mac, Elliot, Jones, gravenberch who all like to play in basically the same role (I know not exact, or same side etc) so only using one of them at a time just seems like such a waste of talent

Personally, I know Salah is how best player but if we're being honest, he's been a shadow of his former self since his injury, with him also being his age, if he keeps getting more injuries which is very possible now, he's going to degrade in his ability so I personally believe we should sell him if the Saudis come back with a over £100 mil deal, he's got 1 more season on his contract, zero guarantees he'll resign, I think it'd be a stupid idea not cashing in based on everything

I have some worries about fitting in all the cm. I do agree that Szoboszlai could play as a playmaker on the left. I think Diaz could play on the left with Elliott acting as the playmaker on the right.

Yep same. One area we seem imbalanced with the transition to this shape, need loads more CBs and have too many CMs

So 3 at the back and Liverpool has 6 active senior cb currently. But with Matip out, another cb will come in. Amorim prefer smaller squad tho and Liverpool got excess players at left wing atm

Totally agree with the line up, Mac Alister or Gravenberch can play as the DM and Szobo can play as the 8. It's a very instresting prosect for the 3-4-3, Liverpool is stacked in the midfield and up front, maybe defense maybe be something that Ruben Amorim gets funds for. Great video as always!

with this system I would honestly not be that much against selling Salah and Diaz, we got a lot of midfielders and central attacking players who fit much better here and could use the game time, we could then invest the money into a left-sided CB, Inacio for example, we could be looking at a new left wing-back, potentially a right wing-back cause if Trent wont play there we only got Bradley unless Ramsay impresses, so getting 80-100m for each would be very much worth it

Don’t share your opinion at this point… You just can’t be serious right? Salah would be worth atleast £150m if Saudi would come for him and there’s no way we’re selling both him and Lucho at the same time.

i dont see Salah playing in a support role over an attacking role, other then that is a large versatile squad and if Ruben Amorim get the job he is going to have to let players go otherwise keeping that bunch happy might be tough, would love to see a marque signing up front in a 2 forward attack.

id say with the klopp era ending were prob gonna see salah move away as well or at least used sparingly. your front three will most likely be diaz, jota and szobo.

perfect? maybe, but not if he is gonna play a 3 defender backline, cause we get so many injuries in defence so it would not make sense to play a 3backline.

Salah is off. The System has the ability to flip with the wing positions. Ie diaz left, elliot right. Salah type on the right, gakpo would be excellent on the left side

Just because he plays 343 in Sporting doesnt mean he is gonna use the same tactic in Liverpool! I think he is a good option but Liverpool will pick someone else

So dont get to tied to those 2 in the middle, nowadays Sporting plays this style of football in the middle because of the characteristics of Hjulmand and Morita. 2 years ago we had 2 different players in Palhinha that is more destructive and Matheus Nunes that is more a transporter mc. This to say, that Amorim adapts his style accordingly to the best players

Great Video Mate, for me here's is my 2p on the line up for next season Alison Trent/Virg/Gomez Slozbo/Macca/Jones/Eliot Salah/Nunez/Diaz I see Robbo leaving (I hope he doesn't) and I See us brining in Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth

Sporting fan here. What's worth noting as well is that Marcus Edwards has not been a starter for a while now, instead we have been using Trincão, which is an absolute hardworker and one of the biggest surprises of the last years. He started the season quite slowly, but what he's accomplished recently has been quite impressive. That being said, Amorim really likes players of that type, and I'm not sure Liverpool has a workhorse like that. Still, a lot of potential in that Amorim-Liverpool connection. I hope he doesn't leave tho :(

Yeah trincao is a big FM hero. Although not sure I agree with liverpool lacking hard working players. Liverpool has a squad of workhorses. You don’t play for Klopp unless you run and work hard 😂 Diaz, Szoboszlai?

I see no justification to play Sboz on the left side, it seems like someone makes a video and everyone copies. Personally I think this formation disrupts all the progress we've made and I think this is a step back. Far too many central midfielders to fit and far too many forwards to fit - Liverpool did a rebuild with the midfield and it seems a stupid move to undo all that.

I would agree on the formation. I don’t like the 3-4-3 for this squad. Basically, you are using one extra CB at the expense of several central midfielders like Jones, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch etc. The manager should fit the squad he has, not the other way round. Klopp is leaving a young, vibrant squad for Klopp to pick from; it would be more understandable if this was last year as we needed a rebuild.

I don't think he goes for 3 centre backs, seems a daft idea to mess about when we have VVD. The only problem this year has been having to use so many different CBs, If we signed somebody to compete with Konate who isn't so injury prone we would be sound. I'm holding out hope for Bajcetic next season for the DM role. I do think selling Gakpo or Jota would be wise to make space for a good young attacker.

If Amorim goes to Liverpool, be prepared to a revolution on the squad, because... He doesn't like lazy players. If they don't get to train very well, it will be a problem for those players. I know what I'm saying because I am a Sporting fan. When Slimani returned for us, he scored some goals as a striker should do, but then he stopped playing because he discussed with Amorim about wanting to play at the start of every game... so we sold him and didn't last 6 months on the club 😂

Can you clarify what you mean by 'He stopped playing'? Was he a starter or was he scoring off the bench?

@@bapirtapok5540 he came for the team on january 2022 and started playing some games and scored some goals off the bench. After that he deserved Amorim confidence and started playing some games as a starter. But when he saw he didn't start all games, he discussed with Amorim about that and he caused a bad environment with that. After that he never played again and we terminated the contract with him

@@Magihyun unfortunately not even the journalists know what happens in trainings. That's why some players with Amorim can be in excellent form in games in a row and then they can stop playing if they don't train well or obey him. I give you the example of our player Ricardo Esgaio... Man he is SO BAD, the worst player we have and even so, he started so much important games, like against Benfica for the second hand match of the cup. If you don't believe me, just search a little and you will see how much our fans hate that player. He conceded so much goals this season, just like our GK Ádan, who (thank god) got injured and the second GK Israel who is much younger and saved us against Benfica, like in the last game that decided the title

You Liverpool fans have no idea what you’re in for 😂 city too when pep leaves. Just ask Arsenal about the early seasons after Arsene Wenger, or United post Fergie, Chelsea after Mourinho left both times. Disappointed by the cups after challenging for the title. United won the league then under the new manager came 7th. Liverpool will struggle post Klopp.
