G'day Legends, I hope you're doing well,
Today we talk about the Russia's offensive and look at the war map updates.
If you're new here thanks for coming across, I served in the Australian Infantry from 2014-2021, With specialist qualifications in Heavy Weapons/Anti-Armour, Combat First Aid, With a tour to Afghanistan as a crew commander of a Armoured Mobility Vehicle.
Upon my Return I was unexpectedly diagnosed with a Incurable and Inoperable Brain tumour that is slowly killing me. I was also awarded the Queens Order of Australia Medal (OAM) hence the post nominals after my name. Then Being medically separated from the Army I flew to Ukraine in 2022 for 6.5months and now make content full time. I really appreciate you being here Thank You

It doesn't matter if Ukraine is in a better position today than three months ago, according to NAFO accounts. Those soldiers are often not getting months of training. They are not properly equipped. They do not have the same quality of training as soldiers had at the beginning of the war. This is true to an extent for Russia as well, but even Ukraine admits that the Russians have good training. Even Wagner trained its cannon fodder for at least a month. Not a week.

The difference is the definition of "expendable" for the Ukies it means meat to throw into a trench to act as a speed bump, to the Russians the StormZ and the Wagnerite penal batallions are proper infantry that can and will take positions but you don't mind losing. The former are made to be wasted, the later are a high risk-high reward forlorn hope.

They are not vicious killers, dangerous criminals to be released if they survived. They were not recruited for meat wave attacks. Bakhmut. 19.5k dead. 17k former convicts. The only confirmed, verified casualties of this conflict. Of 50k recruited. Astonishing. It's always partial truths of the pro Kremlin. Find out before you write.

Because all the Volunteering Ukrainians are gone forever and all the Foreigners & Tiktokers have fled forever after the Bakhmut Meatgrinder & 2023 Summer offensive debacle which basically turned into a Ukrainian version of Operation Market Garden. Who's left to suffer ? The Unwilling ones. The ones who never voted for the war in the first place and never had the luxuries to enjoy after the war.

Let say that even if those 14 brigades is like top tier elite troops. Doing counter offensive operations when Ukraine is on the low ground and flat terrain with artillery support advantage on Russian side is not a good idea to begin with.

@Willy OAM There is one particularly sick Ukrainian drone unit. They will use a 4K drone to guide an FPV drone into their target soldier. Once the soldier has been hit, the 4K spotter drone will fly directly overhead and zoom in to film the suffering and death of the soldier. They will often zoom in on their face as they die. I initially thought it was to confirm the kill, but some of these soldiers are literally gibbed and they will zoom in on the gore. Its really sick. All to a soundtrack of techno. I get it, war is terrible, but this is next level sick. Producing snuff films for the internet. Willy - can you comment on this

I am from Canada and lived most my life in British Columbia, wild fires are no joke. I can imagine with all the bombs and fighting that wild fires will increasingly become a problem for both sides. Even where there is no fire the smoke will effect everything, it tires you out, causes you to have headache and generally just makes everything unpleasant.

Zelensky only does interviews with media clearly part of Ukraine’s blind support chorus. A Tucker Carlson interview has a huge downside for Zelensky because Carlson could ask questions he cannot effectively answer with truthful answers. Zelensky definitely doesn’t want to talk about whether he’s still constitutionally leader of Ukraine, why martial law with no elections, lack of free press, reporting truthful casualty numbers, and why he didn’t honor Minsk Accords. Beyond this, the list of Zelensky cannot answer honestly is huge!

The situation is absolutely very dynamic. My prediction is that as soon as Russians surround Kiev around they will become open to negotiations & the demands or terms for ending these special operations might be unfavorable to heroically fighting uks. The fighting power is diminishing because uks are limited in number of men available for conscription & numbers of volunteers willing to join the army. Indiscriminate conscription can only lead to further collapsed infrastructure. The bad news is that there aren't any car mechanics and other essential workforce. If numbers of soldiers keeps decreasing there will be nobody to surrender but capitulation will be a sorry option as there might be no sizable forces to fight . Most disturbing fact is that demographically the population of men in Ukraine is rapidly decreasing , mostly on front line & the ones who managed to escape all over the world. Hopefully they will be allowed to return to rebuild Ukraine & sustain it's male population. Both sides are great heroic soldiers & demand recognition & may as well say Slava to all worriers of Eastern Ukraine

Oh shit you're out towards Ararat way? Went up to Adelaide to see some of the missus family during Christmas a few years back and we were planning on the great ocean road and mt gambier since her nephews hadn't been. Was lucky that a fire started on SA I think somewhere after Kieth and we were actually passed it. But holy shit whilst we were driving you could see it in the distance slowly catching up and thankfully it kept its distance (nephews both suffer Autism and the one nephew in our car was pretty freaked out). Crazy how smokey it can get even when it's far away. The other one which we had to divert from the highway when heading towards latrobe valley, wasn't a big one but you had to take the detours and drive through were the fire had already gone through and that was just hot even though it was practically dead. I'm from down Gippsland way, the fires around here were insane when I was younger, remember being at school and even though we were far enough from the fires (at least an hour drive at the time) the smoke was just a black red cloud, felt apocalyptic as hell.

Regarding troop basic gear... the US mil/industrial complex probably considers such trades as pocket change, so probably priority is given to larger and more expensive systems. I have no idea how much the Ukrainian government and military command values individual equipment, but I guess they may be more interested in heavy armaments and missiles over individual kit as well. That would be an interesting question for your connections, like the Ukrainian spec ops person you can't name for personal safety reasons. Stay safe Legend.

An offensive this time, if they can equip it adequately and manage to maintain some level of operational secrecy, might actually do better than the previous one, at least initially. The reason being, that the Russians have been advancing quickly and will likely not be able to rely on minefields and prepared positions to stop a push. They might also be in a fatigued state. I anticipate this new counteroffensive might play out not unlike the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, and similarly, will mark the permanent end of Ukrainian offensive operations.

You seem unaware of the actual situation regarding aid and weapon supplies, and this is a key factor in this proxy war and it's continuation until the ruination of Ukraine. For example for the Patriot system only 500-550 interceptor rockets are produced annually, so in the 40 years they have been in production 20k rockets have been made. You need to fire 2 interceptors for each missile, so in the 40 years of production they have made enough to intercept 10k missiles, I think Russia has fired around 8k so far in this conflict. How many interceptor rockets do you think are left on the planet?
