A new copyright problem is getting worse on KZfaq that relates to newer subscription based sampling services like LoopCloud, Splice, or Sounds. This is combined with DMCA and Content ID making for a nightmare for creators and producers who end up getting caught in the middle using these samples.

The solution is simple: we must all immediately stop making music

the solution is to copyright songs as a whole (the combination of the beat with melody, vocal etc), not a melody on its own, so that the melody on its own cant be copyrighted since u got it from splice but the combination of elements with that melody should be able to be copyrighted (the specific beat, with specific melody, specific vocal combination). or try this, theres always a sollution. ps. if splice sampling give that much problems while they're billionair companies then they should get sued aswell or atleast fix this problem with for example my example.

another example of human greed...I do remember a time when plenty of musicians published music online and used creative commons licenses...the birth of netlabels, now almost all of these artists are gone as the labels...and creative commons licenses are almost forgotten...here comes the sample subs, the royalty free music sites for streamers and content creators, but so often there is money involved....damn this human greed...

Thanks to completely unjustified strikes I have given up posting videos on KZfaq. Plenty of other platforms to turn to.

I have several music videos from my old band up on my channel and I got a copyright strike because some of them use live tracks that we released on albums. I messaged youtube though and cleared it up. But now I've switched the videos to my main channel and have to do it all over again, I haven't been bothered to do it yet and they seem to play fine. No monetisation though.

This is very informative as I’ve thought of trying again. Ever since I got flagged on an original work I made from scratch because my baseline from my head mimicked a song I did not even know existed, I just became a professional bong smoker. The copyright industry is barring and garbage

What if splice and other sampling companys just send their whole library to content ID and give it free clear pass so that no one can content ID the specific sample, only the unique combination of samples or their own made samples

copyright was a good idea in the past but all that's left to it is rich people sueing each other over generic ass chord progressions and melodies and content creators getting annoyed

Splice still remains the copyright owner even though you purchase royality free, its particularly annoying for sync as splice states you have to pay them splits for the derivative work as they are not a buy out

We license a good quantity of music. 2 things never use 3rd party samples. Once you get a flag no mercy ever. I will spend more than the license will make to go after a troll. Since never use 3rd party bits have never lost.....

You don't come to the point , only talk about Splice in the last minute and no satisfying explanation that would match your thumbnail, waste of my time, sorry

There is a very easy solution. Be original. Using samples is disgusting. Every song sounds the same. Make your own samples, your own sounds with your synth and never lock back. Do you want to make music that's irrecognizable from tens of millions other people's music?

i used to be like this but whats more important, to be unique with average sounding music or to have amazing music? It will almost always be option 2 in the end, personally, i try to stick with short samples or only beats as samples, trying to keep melodies etc my own

Okay…define samples. Do singular drums count for that, or do you mean melodies?
