Super cub is definitely underrated like you described lol, and I would say Odd Taxi but people keep shilling it (deservedly) so it seems to be gaining traction thankfully. On the other hand, Burning Kabaddi is the most underrated imo. It’s nothing too crazy but it’s a great sports anime about an obscure sport with good quality overall (and even though the animation is limited with probably a low budget it doesn’t feel like it looks bad)

@@TehamiA Odd Taxi has such a unique vibe to it. At first glance I wasn't interested because I'm not a big fan of animal characters, but the atmosphere really drew me in. Burning Kabaddi is also pretty cool. I like the fact that the main character starts off hating sports. I probably won't have time to keep up with it at the moment on top of the other stuff I'm watching, though.

I love super cub too. I relate so hard to the feelings expressed in it. Like going into the store or school and glancing back at your car, in her case cub, several times. Just thinking, "wow, that's mine and it can take me anywhere." My life has been incredibly stressed lately, I dread every waking second of my existence right now for personal reasons, but I am currently working towards changing that. This show allows me to breathe slow and deeply again. I also recently bought an old Honda Civic because I am so broke, and I definitely project myself into the main character and imagine she's looking at a civic. And how she learns to work on it, I am also learning so much from working on my car. Just too damn relatable, I am so happy when I watch it. Glad I am not the only one getting so much from it.

You described it perfectly. She's such a hard worker who always tries until she succeeds, and doesn't just rely on others to fix things for her. And yes, her smiles are so wholesome!

From the first episode, I thought this one felt very similar to Laid-Back Camp, too! Both shows give me such a comfortable, peaceful feeling.

I think even though Honda had a hand in the anime, the original novel was just written by someone who likes motorcycles a lot, without any of Honda's involvement. That said, yes, the show is super relaxing.

CEO of memes. That's one reason why I enjoy the show so much. Unfortunately some fan service does appear in the manga. Do we really need to see Koguma in her undies to know she wears underwear? No. Do we need to see her in the shower (with strategically placed patches of steam) to know she showers? No, again. And when Reiko is introduced, its a side view that emphasises her 'ample bust' with a line that states 'This girl has everything.' It's obviously done to be ambiguous and an opposite to 'the girl who has nothing,' but even so, I felt that all these fanservice moments did an injustice to the characters who are not defined by the sexuality. In that respect alone, I feel the anime has it just right. Anyway, please excuse my ramble.

@@MatrixAMch roads and drivers here where I live make it very dangerous to ride. I’ll ride a bicycle in the town center areas but most roads traveled outside those areas are dangerous because of the drivers. Many rods aren’t in good condition and I know of some scooter riders who’ve been thrown from hitting a hole in the road they didn’t see because of water. Some holes are so sharp that even the most smooth riding luxury vehicle will shake from the impact.

It really is such a beautiful show. I actually haven't gotten around to 5 Centimeters per Second yet but I love Makoto Shinkai movies so I will watch it at some point.

@@MatrixAMch also agree but it depends on the person. I have some acquaintances who loves watching anime but refuse to watch if there are no superpowers or good graphics, it won't even bother asking for the plot. They judge the anime by graphics.

@@MatrixAMch right? I watch any genre (except for yaoi) and don't judge them by the animation, of course I would drop it if not interesting but only after watching a couple of episodes.

I haven't heard of Two Cars but I'll have to check it out! And yes, this anime is more slow-paced, but it's also very rewarding to watch. Even after watching a bunch of other shows, I still think it's my favorite this season.

Honestly I never got the impression it was an ad, and if it is, it's extremely subtle. The characters and atmosphere in the show are so well developed that I love it even though I'm not someone who would ever buy a motorcycle.

You're the third or fourth person I've heard say that. I haven't seen Yuru Camp, but it's on my list now for sure.

@@MatrixAMch Yuru Camp is wonderful and there's a lot of similarities between the two shows. I would say Yuru Camp is more accessible to the average anime watcher. There's more emphasis on entertainment and comedy and the characters heavily lean into the moe end of the spectrum. Super Cub has a much more serious tone and the overall vibe of the show is much more meditative. Both shows are great but I'd say they take their own paths to deliver their message.

I agree, there's so much great character development and the direction is phenomenal. It also doesn't really feel like a commercial to me because even though Honda is involved with the anime, the original novel didn't have any Honda involvement and was just written by someone who really loves motorcycles.
