Another good mark for Pellaeon: he loved clones. _Loved_ them. During the Clone War, Pellaeon commanded the RAS _Leveler,_ and can be quoted on a number of occasions complaining about the uselessness of nonclone crewmen, even wishing for the old days where a commander "could throw a useless minion out the airlock." When a number of clone crewmen were killed at the Battle of JanFathal, he elected to find fellow troopers they had been close with to extend his condolences in the same vein of sending a next-of-kin letter. Top man, Pellaeon.

To be honest, even directly after Endor, there were certainly some “good” splinter groups, who would focus on humane treatment and establishing an area of space which order and stability in an era when most of the galaxy was in a constant state of war. But the real nasty aspects would slowly be annihilated with palleon, and they would never really come back in any major form within the remnant. Also, one could still make the argument that for a very long time, an imperial remnant was more appealing than the new republic, if only because of that stability that was brought within their borders.
@Wastydest

When Emperor Fel, for lack of a better term, fell they took a long time to realize it because they were loyal to the empire, loyal to throne...and actually KNEW Fel as a person and didn't want to believe the worst of him.

Actually, following a realistic point of view, I have always thought that for most people life was pretty much normal and even perhaps better than in the latter decades of the Republic. The Sith induced troubles/neglect and so on would be gone in the New Order. War, rebellion, massacres and so on were far away things for most systems (we are talking about a galaxy-wide government, thousands & thousands of worlds), most people do not care about politics in daily life ( dealt with locally anyway, and there was the token Senate) and corruption and other problems are not imperial per se. So in terms of daily life, I guess unless you are unlucky enough to be on the receiving side of Imperial might & wrath, it should be pretty ok. If I was to write some things in the EU/Legends continuity and set in the Imperial Era, I would make the Empire pretty popular among most people. I like when things are more grey in Star Wars. Of course, this is only taking into account the facade of the government, the theoritical "new order" under a constitutionnal Emperor. The real sith-led magocracy is indeed evil. But save for a few, everybody ignored this.

For the Emperor led monarchy, I think pretty much everyone in the Empire except the Emperor himself knew that the military, the governors and ,even after the senate was disbanded, the senators held all of the power. I think it could be compared to the German Empire in 1916-1918 where the military was holding all of the power and everyone just pretended to listen to the Kaiser.

The First Order always just felt like a powerful and fanatical splinter faction that intended to try and further Palpatines old ways and plans. Though I also despise the fact of the New Republic's HEAVY disarmament programs after Jakku. I mean... A bomber without the ability to launch bombs or torpedo's? While he may lack Thrawn's brilliance or totally cool and largely flawless rationality he was also, in every sense of the word more human. Hah, even if that's a poor choice of words with regard to Star Wars, I do think Pellaeon is at least more sentient (that is with the complexity of being grounded and human) in terms of moral complexity. The largest issue with the Empire actually lies with the state of a post-war galaxy that was mostly just against non-humans. Seeing as the Empire didn't exactly condemn the racism and xenophobia that existed within the territories after the Clone Wars. It was stated in one of the recent Thrawn books that the Empire itself is not racist. However, due to the years of war against the CIS, which were mostly led by non-humans, they grew to despise anyone who wasn't human or near-human. That is where the racism comes from, years of conflict. The Empire could've worked, but unfortunately the people really killed it.

Doza and Griff Hollaron, both former Imperial Navy, and both aligning themselves with the "light" light side. Doza's and Hollaron's insights, eventually having been on both sides of the fight, are brilliant. As well, it was thoughtful for the series to explore the appeal of the Empire through the actions of Tam Ryvora. The reality, fictionally and historically, Imperialism can have and has had mass appeal... the primary danger is trusting/believing/knowing what's at the top.

I wish something like the Fel Empire existed in Canon. According to some sources there actually is a small sort of Imperial Remnant in Canon that still operates under the name of the Galactic Empire even by the time of the Sequel Trilogy. It would have been interesting to see them referenced in the movies.

I always thought there was a huge missed opportunity for the post-RotJ Disney products with the fragmentation of the Imperial Remnant. It'd have been great to see a fleet somewhere that settled in to a more thought-out and effective role. My take: the fleet makes a deal with a couple of planets in a region, exchanging space-lane security for taxes. By helping those planets out-compete their neighbors (no pirates would be willing to prey on their flagged merchants), they demonstrate the usefulness of the Imperial Navy, getting more planets to sign on. Each world would be left to its own affair, simply providing funds and materiel to support the fleet in its role of space-lane security. Throw in protection from military threats (and refusal to commit to offensive wars, though strategic offensives in a defensive war would be fine) and it has the potential to be a great deal for member worlds without any of the tyranny, despotism, or aggression of the old Galactic Republic or Galactic Empire.

@@judsongaiden9878 nah I meant Order. You can not oppose Chaos without Order, much like you cannot oppose Tyranny without Freedom. This is the rule of Balance. Too much of something is never good for everything. If they added Battle Droids and Clones to the Empire, the war could have went on. Luke would probably have Great Grand Children by the time the war was won by the rebellion. Maybe it wouldn't have been won at all until 100 years later.

This was pretty nice. Though it one of your early comments got me thinking a bit...have you ever done a video on why the various Dark/Sith Lords actually went for superweapons time and time again even though there was plenty of historical evidence to show they didn't work or even more contemporary studies showing that using those resources to construct even larger fleets that could directly oppress even more of the galaxy? I mean I'm pretty sure that Legends never outright stated it, but if you read between the lines it seems pretty obvious.

Fun fact, in Star Wars: Rebels, the Rebellion commits more war crimes than the Empire. "Evil is a label we place on those who threaten us." ~ Chancellor Palpatine As Thrawn stated, most citizens never saw a single TIE fighter. Most citizens supported or were indifferent to the Empire, and there is significant argument that the Rebel Alliance caused far more suffering than the Empire ever would have through the chaos and war caused. Now in real life I'm an individualist to the extreme, but taking the argument for what it is the Empire definitely has reason behind its support and the Alliance to Restore the Republic has serious problems within its own actions.

Just as there were nightmarish forces in the rebellion who were basically terrorists or pirates claiming it for legitimacy while continuing their normal businesses.
