@@matthewvanderbeek1240 well there is no more Massey ferguson combine. They discontinued the 9500 and 9505 series which is the dumbest things agco has done. Thats what we run but now they want us to trade to a fendt twin rotor, no thanks. All they have is twin rotor fendts and Gleaners.

What you say is theory. Powershift will always be better on fuel/power. Advantage of ideal RPM is not as big as losses in Vario. What is interesting is E-Autopower from JD.

That's not exactly correct. A CVT can generally be more efficient than a powershift. In every gear there is optimal points of efficiency, with a CVT, you can maximize the efficiency at all time. That's the entire point of going to a CVT. Mike is complaining about maximum power to the ground. The reason powershifts are better in this regard is due to the fact that they are locked into a ratio with physical gears, whereas the CVT will be using a mix of mechanical and hydraulic power transfer.

To reiterate Powershift, partial Powershift or straight gear drive are the most efficient for powe transmission.Hydraulic cvt's have their place in the farming world as well imo but maybe not needed for basic pulling tractors.But the inescapable reality is it takes more power to pump fluid from one pump to drive another pump .

@@jacobl1657 Yeah it can be “more efficient” but farm tractors aren’t always about efficiency. They need power when they need it and a cvt is far less adjustable compared to a power shift.

@@interman7715 My mistake, I didn't clarify that it was more efficient for mixed operations, and therefore overall more efficient since the majority of operations require power from the tractor. I did say that powershifts are better for power to the ground, which really limits you to tillage only.

Big tractor power did a video showing the 1167 .... Go see how it handles hills. It's actually quit good. The torque this tractor makes is just ridiculous.

I dont know modern tractors very well.I had assumed they can increase power above the standard output curve -but for short periods only due to cooling limits. What you just described is old school 'torque rise' .Sometimes known as a 'constant HP engine'. Do you know for sure it's how you described it?Or perhaps they do both?

I see it mostly the way you do @spgprivate. Can‘t Understatement that it‘s Not all the way thru the newest Fendt Technics as Cab, Fendt One, Push/pull Fan, Active Airfilter Cleaning, the poor (far away) Main Dashboard. The Steering could have been to switch between return to straight on postition and keeping turning direction. And when Tracks are widened out there is space for more fuel and def! I really wonder about the actual Standards as i said because ist is the Fendt Flagship!!!

I thought he would have bought a Caseih 620 or NH on duals. The trouble with tracks is they are rough and don't road well and considering the amount of miles they do on bitumen the choice is surprising.

@@interman7715 the fendt 900 and 1100 series tractors probably have some of the smoothest track systems in the industry.

Probably slightly more on the tracked machine.. But the wheeled machine might come off with more grip and less severe compaction anyways because of the way it distributes the load

does this mean that the 620 used for pulling minus the loss through the transmission will mean actual power to the ground will be in the 500s?... I wonder what the transmission loss actually is?

@@musikmaan It won't be power to the ground. Although, I do get skeptical when Mike talks about not having enough power. Lots of time, especially with Fendts, the lower engine RPM and changes to rpm as the machine is pulling can give the effect of lower power. It will be interesting though. In theory, even with power loss, the 2 track should be able to put more power down. When comparing the amount of power to physically move the machine, a two track will always be more efficient than a 4 track, but that's fairly obvious.

@@musikmaan According to Nebraska Tests the 1167 gets 512 Hp to the ground and the 9620RX 540 Hp, both at Max. Below 4.5 mph /7kph the Fendt outperforms the Deere.

One wonders if there is any less yield in the tracks of the cart.

Bourgault does not offer a tow between with carts and drills of that size.

One reason would be that they couldn't go any faster on the less hilly ground because of the limitations of the drill. (Speed equals throwing dirt on top of the next row.) So they must feel struggling with some hills with a wider drill/,big tank is more efficient overall.

That or loopback hyd hose works too.

I think that those drills can be used in the hills, it's just there's nothing other than maybe the big bud 747 that will pull that drill up those kind of hills.

I have done this test on my farm. My fendt 1156 easily outpulls my quadrac 500 cvt.

Wonder if it’s possible to push them near that and still have them do consistent work, assuming you’ve done away with def.

Would still have a CVT and a bunch of power loss and get out pulled by tractors that are 150hp less.

@@davidlogel2350 lol. show me any tractor with less hp that outpulls the 1050, ill wait... in fact ill have to wait forever, y? cause there isnt. not even a 9470RT is beating a 1050. its only ever so slighty (talking less then 1% here) beaten by the case quadtrac 470. and dont start with "u choose lower hp models to compare" i did not, at the end of the day, both the 470RT and case 470 have same engine boost power. if 82% of a tractors engine power is making to the ground, and u call it bad, ur dumb, sry but its true. even powershifts dont get much higher the 84 - 85% engine power to actual GROUND power.

@@davidlogel2350 get some proof the 1150 is stronger. bc as of right now, tractortestlab nebraska says differently... y should i stay quiet if its literally been proven that similar hp cvt's barely dont underperform by such a big margin as people claim they do. hp to hp and weight to weight match, difference is neglectable, notice i said "hp to hp & weigth to weigth match" cause usually ur comparisons ur talking about there is a huge benefit usually to the powershift. if they wouldnt know its a cvt, they wouldnt say it, cause u really cant tell, difference is sooo small these days (providing all other factors are similar) y think the 1167 is doing as well as the 9620RX even tho the 1167 is basically a 1162 with extra power for hydraulics huh? hmmmm i wonder y. ill tell u y, the CVT is pretty much ON PAR with jd's powershift anyway, im done here. tired of responding to people stuck in the 1980's - 2000's unwilling to accept cvt is where literally the ENTIRE industry is moving towards (including high hp jd / case). bc they really dont underperform to powershift anymore (still a little, but almost not)
